Hello everyone!

I am not sure if this has been brought up before - my apologies, if so - but as someone reading these Forums for a couple of years now, I think someone what has always been demanded by the fans was a Romance Pack for the respective games (i.e. a DLC which enables romances that haven't been possible before).

What would make my throw money at the Screen (literally!):

- Vivienne:

I am not sure why romancing her wasn't possible, exactly someone like her, on constant search for power, it would have fitted just perfectly to - after the death of her husband - romance someone who concentrates so much influence in Ferelden/Orlais, namely the Inquisitor. (Note: I think another female-only LI would fit best in her case, but that's just my opinion)

- Leliana:

If she isn't in a relationship with the warden: why not? It would be especially interesting if they made a little twist, depending if she had been hardened or not.

- Varric:

I am sure my funny, joking around Inquisitor would love to be in a relationship with him.

Any thoughts/other suggestions? :)

Needless to say, a reply from someone at Bioware would be strongly appreciated too!

I think Bioware can be using their time for actual worthwhile DLC. I mean you have 8 people to choose from you don't need to romance every character under the sun.

Harding!

*drinks to that*

Anyways, I'm still a bit astonished, about how many people are interested in more romance options. I know, Dragon Age can be played in many different ways, but to me it's not really a dating simulator. Even though I really enjoyed the romance options in every Dragon Age game so far.

I think that the characters the OP has mentioned are 'unromanceable' due to their personal stories. Varric has this (in my opinion) strange relationship with Bianca going on and it seems to work for him. Vivienne has just lost someone she cared deeply about. She should have time to mourn. Besides, she is all business and I don't think she has the time for a romance. And Leliana, honestly, I've got no idea why she isn't a romance option when the Warden did not romance her. Maybe this has something to do with the development process (too many lines, too many different flags, I dunno).

So, I don't think that any of these characters will be a romance option. Scout Harding on the other hand... ;).

Meh, I'd rather just have good story DLC's. At the most, some minor bonus dialogue reflecting romance would be welcome, which is kind of par for the course with DLC's we've had in the past anyway (like MoTA).

Yeah, I'm not in favor of romance DLCs.  I don't mind a DLC that introduces a romance option in addition to a plot (like Sebastian's), but I'd rather not have a 'pay for the LI of your choice' dynamic created.  Sometimes we just aren't happy with our LI's.  To be honest, this is the only DA game where I like any of my romance options.  But I make due in the other ones.  In DA: O, I either suck it up and romance Zev or I go romance-less.  In DA2, I usually pick Anders even though I can't stand him because I think it makes for a compelling story (and solidifies Hawke's terrible decision making).  I'm sure that ME4 will have traditionally pretty female LI's.

I like the romance options that we got - but I would LOVE to see additional dialogue and cut scenes (not fade to black damn you all!) added to any DLC's so that you can continue your relationship with your chosen partner! <3

I would be for the general concept! I agree with Caja that the characters that weren't romanceable mostly had story reasons for being unavailable, but I would be intrigued to see what they'd do with a 'romance dlc'. Possibly add some of the very popular NPCs (if they weren't already considering adding them in the next game ala Mass Effect 2's Tali/Garrus).

Unfortunately, I think Bioware won't go this route because too many players would start making unhappy noises about how "this content should have been part of the game in the first place" and "Bioware is deliberately cutting content to sell later" (which seemed to be how the coding which enabled characters to be added via DLC in other games was treated, regardless of the known issues that arise with adding characters when the programming isn't in place)

Actually I wonder if the programming issue would be relevant to adding romances as well....hm.

Well, anyhow I'd be interested in seeing this! And from what I've seen, a lot of other people would be as well :)

To add to what's already been said about Vivienne: Leliana has had a lot of off-screen character development, apparently mostly of the tragic kind, and the death of her mentor and very good friend, the Divine Justinia, has exacted a very heavy toll on her. She is a changed person in DA:I, and the levity she used to have esp. in DA:O has all but evaporated. It is in-character for her to want to stay single, I think.

In the grand scheme of things, that's a pity, IMO, because people like Leliana (in DA:O) and Varric (in DA:KW) provided a much-needed lighter touch on things. They've both lost that quality in DA:I, the occasional quip notwithstanding, and to me that is painful, even if it's logical and coherent in-universe/in-character. I doubt that could be changed with a romance DLC. Both characters are "lost" in a way, and you'd have to rewrite the entire story to make a romance work.

*sad face*
