Female Inquisitor, that is.

Is it just me? I swear half the time she's either slouching as she walks, or hollowing her back and sticking her arse out while standing still. Do male Inquisitors do the gorilla-walk too? I suppose they aren't cursed with the T&A pose, at least.

My male Inky isn't too awkward. Either that or IRL I'm as awkward. Personally I've only found him tacky a few times whenever he tries to do that "How you doin'?" Joey Tribbiani impression. (Or dat sexy time pose if you're not familiar with Friends).

By reading your impressions on females I wanna role a female Inky next. Sounded like I'd like that. :P

Btw, in case you're not Finnish your name means 'Ear' in finnish language.

I know.. AND she wanks WALKS like an ape man or a lumber jack most of the time, sits like a man.. O_o

Look at this slumpy shoulder shot!! I wanted to slap her and tell her to stand up straight. LOL

Maybe she was just tired or something.. but it made me cringe

I like the way she sits, it shows confidence and control. Unlike that slouch, yikes! Your screenshot is a perfect illustration of what I mean. She looks like a sulky teenager standing like that (and Josie like the unimpressed mom, heh).

It's especially embarrassing during certain big moments. I won't mention examples since this is the no-spoiler forum, but let's just say that the combination of gorilla-slouch plus beige PJs while everyone else is looking badarse in their armor and standing/walking straight and poised can ruin the impression of us being the glorious leader quite a bit.

I don't remember that in my game...

In all seriousness though, I have noticed the awkward posture.   It's especially obvious to me with mages or archers because their weapons are right against the back.  Walk animations are also  a bit troublesome.  A lot of times the characters walk like they're trying to go up a steep hill even on flat ground.  They shouldn't have to lean forward and be pulled my momentum.

Good to know its just not me that thinks this. I cringe when I see my Inquisitor slumping over like that. Obviously an oversight by Bioware. Seems they let many things go unpolished to get the game out the door.

Ha, I didn't even see that! It absolutely wins the "typo of the month" award.

Yes, I have some Finnish friends who told me. Apparently I also named one of my WoW-characters "Pancreas" back in the day when we played that game. Unintentional on both counts, but they found it hilarious. :P

Yes! I just got to a certain spoilery part...and smh. She did the gorilla walk so many times, and the overhead view caught it over and over again. It just looks uncomfortable and ridiculous. The sitting doesn't bother me as much. She just looks kind of bored to me, which works with her personality.

You think that is bad. Try seeing that on a 7 foot qunari woman.

I find it bothers me in the Companions and other NPCs more than in my Quizzy.

Just an hour ago I was playing (again) and I wanted to grab Morri at Halamshiral and say, (in my best Flemeth voice):

"Head up,  Shoulders back.  You're in a ball gown girl, act like it!"  :pinched:

Male elf is the same. Even worse than the other male because he has no muscle to hide it. Dalish, my a**. Caveman more like it.

I find the female INQ posture very annoying as well.  I also notice the slumped, bowed shoulder positioning on others in cutscenes like Cassandra.  I think this is because they reuse animations like walking and such so much.  I also notice that when your INQ does that fist to chest salute her arm positioning is way away from her chest.  If we could adjust the body in character creation that might not bother me as much but since all body types are static it just highlights an annoyance. I don't want to see my INQ walking around like a priss on six inch stelletos all the time but I also don't want to see her standing like she's old, bent and walking like a gorilla.

Oh really? Female human also does the "fistbump" instead the hand-to-chest salute?

Do they also lean against invisible walls?

They also have this weird stiff-arm syndrome sometimes, both when standing in-game and during cutscenes. It looks like the animators forgot to do something with the arms, they just hang rigidly and slightly off to the sides instead of straight down in an actual neutral/natural/relaxed manner.

I hadn't noticed the posture being that bad with NPCs, though. Seemed to me like Cassandra, Leliana and Josephine (okay, she gets her own set of animations with the clipboard and pen, so she's a special case) were always standing/walking properly. Maybe the skinny PJs enhance the gorilla effect while armor masks it a bit.

The slouching drives me nuts.

Lionhead did the same thing in Fable 3. Do game developers just assume that's how everyone sits or something?

Males suffer from the lumbering gorilla thing both in and out of cutscenes though it's more obvious on female characters (during cutscenes) and male elves. Then of course you have the cooked noodle spine walk/run for female characters outside cutscenes and the little girl idling pose. Just horrible all around. I've never seen a company so clueless as to how the human body moves.

I second that. I don't know why Bioware just cannot get this **** right. Hell, even Bethesda, who is know for terrible animation and posture in general, makes Bioware look amateur.
