I don't know if this has been asked thousands times over already. But it bugs me.
For me personally, I see clear space for a DLC after leaving someone in the Fade.
As you've told us, the person might not die.
Helping them survive thru the Fade to an Eluvian/rift could be the main plot about it. If the DLC activates after final battle it could show what happens on the other side when the inquisitior "dealt" with the main problem by pushing it away. (They didn't deal with the problem wholely since... that wasn't an ending. It was a beginning. He could attempt to do everything and nothing over there.)
If it'd activate after the main plot, it'd give people something to do and way to feel connected with the game afterwards.
If it did before hand well. It'd save from some heartbreak but it's meant to be educating lesson for all, am I right? So savor it. Let us roll in agony and the give us a treat (or salt) for playing till the end.
Anyhow. Merill's Eluvian or Morrigan's could prove useful in getting out of the Fade.
Or just make a DLC/game about the Eluvians. And Fade. You know we're waiting for the opportunity.
Use our greed and gluttony. We are willing to have more.
