I see. so for now, all we need is just one more conditional check for the epilogue. That shouldn't be a problem. We should be able to do that at the same time that we make sure that ThaneMod is compatible with MEHEM v0.5. That way, if we need to do changes for compatibility, we can do them all at once
MEHEM v0.5 beta is up

Sure, if you want to do it now for MEHEM v0.5 rather than waiting until TM v3.0, that's fine. Then I'll include it with the patch, as well ![]()
Once I get to testing do you mind if we work out the details on the ThaneMOD forum? More private and such, and I already have an ongoing list over there.

@ Fob
This may explain our download problem. If you can view the thread when not logged in I mean... Is there anything to be done to make this thread unviewable by the public? I was gonna ask some questions about what you said about v0.7, but since this is a public thread, it would be best if I didn't ask them at the moment.
Emails:
In FCC Broadcast, there is a slight issue with grammar. Many paragraphs coming from Emily wong begin with a " but do not end with it. Speaking from my college English classes (Candian English. Very similar to British and American English, with ocassional smatterings of French), gramatically, it would make the most sense to have the " put at the start of when she speaks, and one " at the end. Not per paragraph, just per when she speaks
In Your Destiny, there is a line that reads "While it has seemed cruel to hold out for so long after you have done so much..." This line doesn't make sense to me, in that I do not understand the connotation.
ACR Thanix Cannons looks fine
In Hey Shepard from Gianna, there is a word that says "focussed." It should read "Focused." Also there is a section that reads "...things tick. Its a far cry..." There needs to be a space between the "tick" and "its," and "its" needs to be "It's." Also space needed in sentence "...Crucible design.Usually..." between the period and "usually."
In Time Capsules, gramatically, it should not read "P.S.: As per..."
It should read "P.S. As per..."
In the sentence "...of the Normandy, although I am afraid, should anyone recieve these messages in 50,000 years, they will be..." I think there may be a grammatical error here. Not sure. Might be easier for it to read "...of the Normandy, although I am afraid that should anyone recieve these messages in 50,000 years, they will be.."
Also, there needs to be a comma in the fifty thousand, like this: 50,000. Not this : 50.000
In Hey There, a sentence reads "...to find out more...and its really big..."
It should read "...to find out more... and it's really big." Note the space between "more..." and "and." Also note the comma in "it's"
Final Update email never appeared in my post game. Strange.
The one from Cpt. Fob I haven't had the chance to look at.
Also, I noticed something in the emails that makes it obvious that they are added. Can't believe I didn't notice it before. In the default emails, it always says who it is from at the top of every email. Several to all of the custom emails don't have this; they just launch right into the letter.
Anyway, hope my observations do some good. I hate being picky

Note: the 50.000 year things is correct to Germany and Europe (having a German background myself), but in North America it is 50,000. So it depends on the target audience.

Hey, thanks cfs3corsair! Big help! I'll fix these immediately. Cheers!
- As for The final update email: It will not be there post game. The email triggers between Cerberus HQ and Priority: Earth. Post the ending, all that happens is that a savegame from before Cerberus HQ is loaded (the game doesn't really "continue" but just loads that save). So the Kahless email hasn't triggered yet.

I haven't downloaded yet, but just wanted to comment here for clarity, since I couldn't quite tell what you meant, lol. I'm pretty sure Fob already knows what I'm about to say, but I'll say it just in case :]
The grammatical rule is that the closing quote may be delayed, and the quotation stretch multiple paragraphs, as long as it applies to one speaker. In short, each paragraph doesn't need an end quote, as long as the same speaker is still talking.

English language usage (regardless of country) when it comes to numbers like this is to use the comma (50,000, not 50.000) like you stated. Since MEHEM is in English, proper usage dictates that's the convention that should be followed. When translated into German, French, Italian, etc, then that language's decimal convention should be used instead.
Also "received" is spelled wrong. E before I. It's special.
I'll take a closer look at them as well, Fob, when I test. Lots of good catches, cfs3corsair :]

Slightly different question, and perhaps on me3explorer is the answer and where it should be asked.
You'll only release MEHEM as a "as DLC" version without a manual install, correct? If so, how does texplorer really work with these things? It seemed when I ran texplorer on DLC_EXP_CEMF, that it ripped the files out of that folder and...I never verified if they went into DLC_EXP_Pack003 or what happened to them. Can texplorer work properly with this dlc method? If so, I'd love to drop any manual installer for any possible release of CEM in the future.

as for received, my bad. Thats what happens when you type fast ![]()
As for the quotation thing, you have clarified what I was trying to say, Giftfish. Thanks!
My issue was that a paragraph would begin with
"bla bla bla
"bla bla bla
"bla bla bla"
When it should just read
"bla bla bla
bla bla bla
bla bla bla"
Assuming it is the same speaker. Still, Giftfish said it better than I.

Oooh, that's what you're saying.
That's actually not correct. A beginning quotation is needed for every new paragraph, just not a closing quotation (when the same speaker). Your top example is correct. This is as per the Chicago Manual of Style, English usage.

I haven't installed texture mods with DLC mods yet, but yes, it works. I have no idea what Texplorer does with the files, though. I'm pretty sure what you're describing is it's "extraction" where it pulls all files into a "cache" folder. It's those files, then, that are modded and returned to the parent folder.

@giftfish and cfs3: So, the version as it is in the text now (with " at the beginning of every paragraph but not the end) is what PRGenius also told me. I also remember reading it like this in English books back in school, so I think the version as we have it now is correct (or at least can be, if there is not a real consensus).
@Deager: Yes, only plan to release the installer, as people will automatically have the single files in their DLC folders. Last time I used Texplorer (September 2014) it worked with extracted DLCs, as long as you manually extract ALL DLC (including BioWare's). That's also what I put in the installer as suggestion.
EDIT: Ok, my last experience was this:
http://me3explorer.f...710.html#p12710
But it looks like Texplorer has moved on since then. Gonna do some tests tonight and see what's happening.

I'm pumped to test it for you. I have 13 of my own ungibbed Sheps with all but Thane and Steve romances.
Damn, Deager!
Also...you really, really don't like Thane, LOL. Which I find hilarious, of course.
I just got home, my wife knows I'm only doing this tonight...
Rofl. This made me giggle. And it reminds me just a bit of my spouse's comments about all my "Thane-time."
EDIT5: FemshepJacob romance (i.e.; no hugging)
no problems at all
Deager, quick question on this, since I'm currently working on Jacob for BackOff.
Has JohnP placed Jacob in the MS for Additional LIs/JAM? If so, I need to keep that in mind for how I handle changes to his storyline.

Still have more posts to catch up on...not done yet!

Thanks cfs3corsair!
Yea, the videos have always been a big issue. It's something about the export from premiere. When making the Harby mod videos, I have tried a lot of settings and ways to export and none of them worked. Both the low quality and the pixels on the top of the screen are caused by this. Deager said he has a method to export. I still have to gather all my materials for the vids and send them too him. I started pulling them together a month or so ago but got held up and since it's several GB, distributed over several hard drives, it's tough to get it all together.
Still want to send you that stuff though Deager. Will try again on the weekend.
EDIT: Oh yeah, the videos. Sure, I don't think I have a real trick. I just know that regardless of the length of videos I've made, I don't get the lines around them when converting to bik. Probably just dumb luck with some settings on my computer. But hey, even the official bioware extended cut videos have a bunch of red outlines on them, which I find funny.
@Fob -- Just wanted to let you know that I've never had the problem with any of the AVIs I've made. I'm now using Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X7. It works fantastic, has lots of options, and is surprisingly cheap (under $100). Just a heads up in case you decide you want to try different software.
Ok, I think I'm finally finished reading through the thread. I'll get to testing ThaneMOD v2.0 with the beta this weekend :]

I don't think JohnP put him in there. But, I had used MEHEM on that run so I can't confirm for JAM or Additional LI. I doubt it though because at that point...he's already moved on with Brynn. However, I have an autosave ready with that Shep right after TIM talk so I can check for you real fast tonight.
Yeah, 13 Sheps...I'm an addict. Thane actually doesn't bug me as much anymore as long as I don't listen him talk about "I'm the weapon/tool, not my fault" type of thinking. I know that's not really what he says, but the first time I heard that I was like, "disagree."
Also, all this testing and watching the ending has me real close to run #14 starting. Time to take my xenophobe Broshep through and maybe have him not be so xenophobe this time. Not sure about Insanity though. The next step down seems a little more fun at this point.

@Fob That's a good point by giftfish. Maybe using a different tool, if you've got the coin to purchase and don't mind, could be an option. I'm still completely happy to give it a try for you but that's another option.

About the privacy issue: If I log out (so I am not logged into the forums at all) and search the forums for "MEHEM"", this thread comes up and is accessible. Granted, people would have to search for it but who know where else it will show up, with all "latest posts" and "latest topics" and whatdoyouknowwhatelse weirdo features this forum has got.
About Jacob: Having had a look at JAM, I am 99.999% sure he is not in. But he maybe he hid him somewhere in the files. Could be JohnP went all "heavy risk ... but the priiiize!" ![]()
About the videos: Well, I have set them all up in Premiere now. If I wanted to change to another editing software, I'd either have to be able to somehow import my files into the other tool or start editing from scratch. If Deager can export properly from Premiere and is willing to help, I think that's the most efficient option. Thanks again for the offer Deager.

About 13 Shepards:
Yeah...here's the deal. Married, no kids. I have MS which means I don't have enough energy to work more than 40 hours per week or do much outside of the house. My wife is fairly busy and really enjoys TV. We each know we don't like each others "hobby" so....lots of Mass Effect. I actually haven't played in a couple of months though, so that's something...I guess.

Oh, ok. Just wanted to be clear.
Yeah, I personally disagree with Thane's line of reasoning, there. But, A-it's a game, and B-I'm open to different interpretations of morality based upon cultural lens. And...he's an alien, so that's a pretty different cultural lens, LOL. So, it basically doesn't bother me.

Fob, I about peed my pants laughing at your "priiize" remark. Man, I'm so not a Jacob fan, but working on edits for him isn't that bad, b/c I still feel that BW seriously made some bad decisions with him.
Rgr on the video software. I'm sure you can import everything into whatever software if you' did decide to change, though. Just point it to the directory and import the files into the library.

I know I'm derailing this thread a bit but right, I too have viewed it more as "a game" and he is not human so all sorts of things can be different. I definitely keep him alive unless I'm roll-playing a reason not to. That's how I keep the 13 trilogy runs fresh and fun. And it's amazing the conditionals they have because I still hear lines and see choices that are new to me each run.
About Jacob. Nice guy but boring as all get out. The great part about romancing him was so I could punch him. And the best part was I was using CEM Full so, technically, that means my Shep was so pissed that years later she still felt the need to punch him in the face waaaaay later. Funniest moment of the trilogy; just shy of "I'm having trouble hearing you. Getting a lot of bull$#!* on this line."

Any more specific tests that need to be done on the v0.5? I am not sure if anybody has tested the "easter egg (true power)" ending yet, but I know the variables and MES have to be pretty specific

@ cfs3corsair
I think low EMS needs to be tested. I don't think I have any Sheps with a low enough EMS to make it happen.
EDIT: Yeah, someday I'll make sure to setup to meet all the "secret ending" requirements but yeah, that should be tested too I suppose. That one should be doable with gibbed.
EDIT2: Confirmed. As we pretty much knew, no Jacob in JAM for the memorial which would tell me no Jacob in Additional LI.
