One of my favorite parts in DA2 is Isabella giving sexual advice to Aveline. Those two killed me. I miss the banter...hope they patch that soon. Oh and I think sexy stuff is just fine for both sexes. I believe the right to offend is the only right worth having. I think emasculating a giant for a cool Staff is a good reason for me to have to spend hours harvesting. Turning someone in to red lirium and having Meredith in my courtyard...priceless. I think cutting the toon porn in half to give me a good character back ground story would be even better.

Is depressing that male characters can look & act anyway they want while females usually have to be sexy, act feminine & have no physical imperfections or they'll get accused of looking hideous or manly, i still
at the people who dismissed josephine as being ugly over her having a beauty mark while most people seem to have little problem with IB missing an whole eye
I'm in agreement, though it feels like you're trying to attribute all of the pressure on female characters (to be a representative for women in general) to immature guys who want to see women who fit their own limited idea of beauty. When the reality is that pressure is coming from everywhere. The massive demand from women (and men) who only want to see "strong, independent female characters" who represent women well is also contributing to a lack of diverse female characters in games.
Make them too "ugly" and people complain. Make them too attractive or "sexy" and people complain. Make them vulnerable and people complain. Make them sexually confident and people REALLY complain.
The fact that people recognise that male characters are individuals, and not a representative of their entire gender, is a huge reason why they can look and act how the devs want. It's why male characters can be vulnerable, insecure, cowardly, comically inept, insane, lecherous, or just a genuinely bad person.
To use an example, look at Guybrush Threepwood. The protagonist from the Monkey Island games. He's a huge coward, nerdy, neurotic, socially awkward and incredibly inept. He is shunned and generally made to feel unwanted. He also gets regularly abused (mostly verbally but also physically at times) throughout the duration of the games. It's also important to note that these things happening to him are always played for laughs. Now imagine that Guybrush was a female character. People wouldn't find it funny anymore, not funny at all, in fact it would be considered incredibly offensive. People would assume that the character is so terrible at everything and gets abused precisely because she's a woman. Every hardship she faces will have been because she's a woman, instead of just being inept at being a pirate. That's not even mentioning that Guybrush fails in his quest, and actually messes everything up in the end. The person he sets out to rescue doesn't need rescuing and he actually (inadvertently) foils her plan to thwart the bad guy. Imagine for a moment how that would go down if that happened to a female protagonist.
Let's look at another franchise, Grand Theft Auto. GTA V was criticized for not making one of the three protagonists a woman. I however think they were smart not to. None of those characters would have been positively received had they been female. Michael, who's a huge sociopath with anger management issues. Has a very strained relationship with his family. Franklin, who activity baulks at his aunt's participation in a feminist group, is crass and regularly uses foul language. Or Trevor, who is mentally deranged, a habitual killer, kidnapper, he enjoys torture, regularly takes drugs and lives in squalor. The only reason this is seen as semi acceptable is because (generally) they aren't expected to set an example for ALL men.
On the flipside let's look at the Tomb Raider reboot. Lara Croft is shown to be courageous, daring, compassionate, exceptionally driven and an all around badass and excellent protagonist. Yet the game was heavily criticized because early in the game she shows ONE moment of vulnerability. When a guy tries to force himself upon her, she kills this man and actually shows incredible strength of character in the scene but still it wasn't good enough.
This is why we see so many diverse male characters (and protagonists) in videogames. Devs can essentially do what they want with them (so long as they're cis, straight, and white) without fear of heavy criticism or being accused of nefarious motivations behind creating such a character. They can be ridiculed and made to look bad when other characters cannot. Male characters can be morons, or tragic, flawed human beings. It's the reason why you hear people say male protagonists are the safe option, and as long as this remains the case diverse female characters are going to continue to be a pleasant surprise when they should be commonplace.

Because Rockstar doesn't give a f**k about this sort of criticism
They know who their target audience is and what they want.

But romanced Cassandra in the end, because I like to travel with my love interest and I liked the romance itself more (and who I am kidding, because of boobs as well)

In her costume, not in those old hag rags
They also made desire demons attractive
And btw spotting trolls is oftentimes really hard, BSN is full of them. But it still isn't as bad as YouTube comment section.

Yeah that old hag look... makes me think of bad breath/no teeth LOL.
If I want a good laugh I look at YT comments. Some of it is just priceless...
Anyway... let's keep to the discussion at hand. "Objectifying women". For the OP's benefit.

Did anyone mention that attractive female images in art are usually pretty curvy and sexually aroused? That kind of male image isn't aerodynamic enough or handy to be used as a grip design idea.
As for the use in the armour designs those images could be boosting defence. You know, most of the human opponents ingame are male (which I find sexist!!!11 Alarm!11 Alarm!!11) and those will hesitate to strike... such a striking curvy female figurine in gold...

shame she gets so much hate for having strong features & shorter hair
Don't get me wrong, I liked her as a character, party member and as romance interest. I just find longer hair on women more attractive
But yeah, I saw some of the hate on both her and Josephine and I think it was really uncalled for.

Friendly reminder we see more of naked Iron Bull /Dorian than we do Cassandra , Ive not really romanced Sera/Cullen as of yet so i can't tell for those 2.
Not that i'm complaining ive got no problem with naked men as a man myself , dat ass on dorian though. and i don't feel less for not having the same physique as them.
And all characters have interesting strong/weak traits so its not like they are just eye candy for most of the game.
There is nothing wrong with having adult themes in games , if that makes me immature i'd rather be that way. TV/Film and other media do it , games should aswell.
Being uncomfortable/offended is not a valid reason vs free expression (in this case art)
