I was watching 300 rise of an empire today and when themistocles and artemisia have sex they pop out her boobs and have a chance to show some ding dong but it gets covered up lol boobs just look better and more fun at least for me
It made think of this thread

Agreed... boobs win.

If you want to see lots of boobs and hot women in general, watch Spartacus, same kinda thing as 300 but it's a series. While the blood/gore factor is kinda ridiculous (fake as, DA:2 more realistic LOL) it's entertaining as it has the two glories of life;

1. SEX.
2. VIOLENCE.

I agree but it made think of this thread and i have been trying to avoid it so i dont rub people the wrong way

Well... I tried not to be a D-bag so I understand that.

I just couldn't control it though, and why should I?

People just need to buy a box of Kleenex LOL.

Carved naked women make for better grip while not chafing the hands.

Well... somebody has some strange fetishes. ;)

A feint. A true feminist is someone who simply acts in a way that is understanding and acknowledges females and/or femininity and/or that kind of thing, no propaganda or public acknowledgment required. A "feminist" is an arch-conservative person who then seeks to demonstrate how "liberal" they are by permitting this or that, but they're trying to take something and rewind back into some super-structure, as opposed to reaching at it from the other direction. Liberal people don't talk about their "liberalness."

Someone who voluntarily labels themselves progressive, feminist, etc, is the quickest and most assured way of determining that they are very likely not any of those things.

A classic example of this would Bioware saving us all from the "perversity" of sexual objectification by having multiple instances of completely naked females splattered across the game as the OP has noted.

I don't even really care about this example one way or another, but it's definitely inconsistent.

I see you have never heard of the Horseshoe theory, then.

I personally prefer the Nolan Chart, but this gets the point across well enough.

You know, I have to wonder whether we would be having this conversation if there were only naked men in the crafting of weapon ornamentation and the like. Something tells me we would not be.

Yup. These "SJWs" are the extreme left version of the militant religious zealot types that make up the extreme right.

The question for me is... how is it even an issue in the first place?

Truer words have never been spoken.

Except maybe the last comment I said that about, but whatever.

By definition; Feminists are people who believe in equal rights for females. They may campaign for equal educational, economic, political and social rights. View 'Feminism' for more information.

There are as many definitions as there are people that support feminism, male or female.

That is not to say we do not want people to hold doors for us, or smile or wink, or even say, "you are attractive". It means we are all individuals and some will like it and some will not. No different than it has ever been, just out in the open now. Men and women have been able to figure this out for a long time with out making it a big deal.

The problem if you want to call it one is that most of us are brought up assigning definitions as to how we think people should behave and that behaviour lags behind the real world.

Nude in society or art, male or female have been admired for hundreds of years. It is how nudes are applied that causes controversy. In most cases they do not bother me and I have no problem with a staff of a nude woman at its top.

I think you were right to change your sword, ollyollyoxenfree . If it bothers you it needs to be changed. Now if we can get some better hair styles I will be appeased.

I was less than impressed when I first found and made the Masterwork Archon Staff and found that it featured a naked female body. Probably the top staff in the game and when you're a mage inquisitor it is seen over your shoulder almost constantly.

I was prepared to grumble and let it go, I'm playing a warrior this time so won't have to see it all the time any more, right?

Then I got the Masterwork Sten Sword Grip and found out that it was a naked woman too. You can see it on your hip in most dialogue and close up scenes and since it's white it attracts the eye. It makes no sense that a Qunari "Sten" grip would be of a naked human female! This irked me so much that I ended up crafting an inferior one instead just so I wouldn't have to think of the inappropriateness of a grip that is a naked female body.

Having both these items are the best of their type forces you to choose between having the best gear and constantly feeling uncomfortable. Really Bioware, given the inclusiveness and respect I've come to expect from you this was a big disappointment.

Great story, bro!

I think this is where we disagree (unless I haven't taken your meaning correctly, it may end up being thag we are in agreement)

If you mean, OP finds this offensive so s/he should change it in his/her game then absolutely. No problems with that. If you mean it needs to be changed or removed in general then you are going to see some disagreement. Censoring other peoples game (and thus depriving people of enjoyment that they would get out of it) is the start of a slippery slope. If we start censoring anything that somebody deems to be problematic then where does it end? Everybody finds something offensive, who's to decide who's concerns are to be taken seriously and who's aren't?

Goodness no. What I said, in context is. "" I have not problem with a staff of a nude woman at its top....I think you were right to change your sword, ollyollyoxenfree . If it bothers you it needs to be changed."" And Bio did a pretty good job of allowing for that.

If some one wants to be upset about something try the vial of maiden’s blood. There is blast of male arrogance that is hard to overcome. But, even that has its assigned place in human history.

Wow... just wow....

Bioware elevates the female form to a top tier item, whereas the rest of the phallic symbols get reduced to second class citizens... and you complain.

You've just assaulted 100 years of women's liberation and equality. I hope you are happy.

That's kind of actually what I was getting at, or least, in my brain.

Um so as to the topic... you know... I don't know how much something like this matters either way.... it seems like kind of a small thing relative to the game as a whole. I don't know if anyone's game experience is transformed.

Well, the nudity is characturized, no nipples for example, nor many other defined features. Not to mention this staff is just a copy of Malcolm's Honour in DA2. The woman in question is Andraste, the prophet, so her figure does have a reason to be there (she's everywhere). To me, it's no different from a major religion which wears depictions of torture devices around their necks and depicts their prophet as wearing nothing but a loincloth with nails in his hands and feet. Also... which Sten Sword grip are you talking about because I have only seen this one:

 Sten-Sword-Grip.png

Plus you don't have to use any of these as there are many other top tier choices.

I'm fine with a completely silly thread

What I'm not fine with are people making slights at others intellects or personal attacks, passive aggressive or not. That gets threads locked.

So wait, just naked women?  No naked men?  That's kinda ... unfair.

I'd much rather dw with one of each, that would be so much cooler.

You wouldn't even need the whole naked man. If all you want is a dagger hilt, well...

Maybe I'd better just leave that there.

1-Yeah, SCREW MALES right??????????????

2-What it means is they want all the "benefits" of being a male but NOT ANY OF THE RESPONSIBILITY, what this also mean is i still want my "chivalry" and all the benefits i get for being a women ;)

In other words, i want privileges.
