1-Yeah, SCREW MALES right??????????????

2-What it means is they want all the "benefits" of being a male but NOT ANY OF THE RESPONSIBILITY, what this also mean is i still want my "chivalry" and all the benefits i get for being a women ;)

In other words, i want privileges.

Wait, what?

Dude, you're missing the point. The post you quoted didn't say a darn thing about benefits or avoidance of responsibility. It just said that feminism isn't about gestures. It's about ensuring that women have the same rights and opportunities that men have, full stop.

If a man wants to hold a door for a woman, another man, or a kangaroo, that's his business. Most of the time, what some refer to as chivalry is basic manners. If you arrive at a door first, you hold it open so whoever follows you doesn't get splinters in their forehead.

With regards to the OP's point, I don't have a strong opinion about it one way or another. I haven't crafted Staff of the Archon yet since I generally go for the Seer Staff instead, but I do remember being amused and annoyed by turns when every single DA2 screenshot involving my mage Hawke talking to somebody seemed to have Andraste's crotch front and center. Mostly, I just rolled my eyes and made up a headcanon where Malcolm was a bit of a perv.

I'm surprised. I found the depictions of a nude woman (the staff and hilt...though I wonder why it's called a Sten Grip...) to be of a more artistic, refined sort then a pervy one.

The woman form is (right now anyway - not talking about Ancient Greece or the Renaissance) is perceived as being beautiful and a work of art in of itself hence why it gets represented in the staff.

On top of ALL of that...the figurehead of the most popular religion in Southern Thedas is in fact a woman. Might be the same as when the Pope carries a staff that has a half naked dead man on a 2x4...just saying.

Does the person whom made this post realizes the game have sex scenes?

Or that the same staff topper was in DA2 (all be that in a DLC pack) it was there on Malcolm's Honor.

Bet the Pope's regalia doesn't depict anybody's junk.

Mind you, I don't much care about it one way or another, but I'd probably consider the Reverse Rule applicable. Would it be OK to depict a male figure as explicitly? If the answer is no, give that girl a loincloth or something.

Malcolm's Honor was kinda silly. Andraste's labia were clearly visible. No, I didn't stare at it, but it was positioned right at head height in every screen shot, so it was kinda hard to miss.

But like I said. I'm not offended by it, and I'm not asking that it be removed. This isn't my fight. But I do wonder why someone would go to such lengths to see a pair of jugs.

I've seen crosses with a very fit Jesus nailed to it. Muscles, defined abs, noble face, perfect hair. Wearing nothing but a skimpy loincloth.

I don't really see the difference, although it is a bit silly to put a holy icon on top of a mage staff you use in battle.

Im not missing the point, feminism is a cancer that should be exposed.

Which Malcolm's Honor is not. If you can't see the difference, that's it right there.

Fortunately, that isn't the only staff in the game, nor is it the best one. I don't care about nudity for either gender, by the way, but I do believe that if you're going to show "parts" of one, you should show "parts" of the other. It's only fair. Just, maybe not as religious iconography. There are some things I don't need to see.

On the other hand, I really like the Seer Staff top. It looks like a miniature skull caught in the cross-hairs. Rather apropos.

The staff actually doesn't show any details whatsoever. No nipples, her legs are together and show no labia. Just a Barbie statue.

if the point of feminism is equality for the sexes, then wouldn't his staff fit into that? I mean men are depicted shirtless all the time, and there are women actively protesting in various places to be able to do the same in public, since when not nursing, the breasts are just fatty lumps on a torso. If women want to be objectified less, I think it would make more sense to put the body out there more, in a less sexual way. Just terminology changes wold suffice too. I mean the more secretive you make something, the more scandalous it is, and people crave it that much more. For instance, how man euphemisms are there for breasts? Now how many are there for the same area on a man?

TL;DR

Save the TaTas, let the girls hang out.

I don't get how people can be offended by naked women, they are just probably the pinnacle of beauty..

No that would be men.

I would have liked a sexy male figurine on my staff tbh.

Is it horrible that I read that sentence and giggled madly?

Personally, I want more sexy figurines on my weapons. Male and female, please. Nothing in the world is more satisfying than killing mooks with fake boobs-- even if they are nipless. However, I demand it be kept equal. Men shall have that Ken doll bulge. Not as fun, but perhaps less people would be horribly offended. I am willing to make that sacrifice.

I just want an image of Iron Bull naked etched into my breastplate in loving detail, is that so much to ask?

...Its not like the grip boobs are jiggling while you're swinging...

*Sends in eerily similar suggestion to above quote for "Weapons to Implement in DA4"*

Ironic, considering how many religious paintings have nude women in them.

Not to mention a naked Jew nailed to a piece of wood everywhere...

Kind of weird how this thread managed to out-last the "Why I'm labeling DA:I..." thread and all of its copies.

Well, I wouldn't want to be the moderator to have to shut down a sexism complaint if it can be avoided.
