Well, I wouldn't want to be the moderator to have to shut down a sexism complaint if it can be avoided.
Good point.

It's sort of inevitable. As long as basement dwellers continue to rally for nekkid wimmins on inanimate objects, it's going to happen. Not immediately, perhaps, but the inevitable call for MOAR BOOBS is going to drown out more sensible requests.
Is it horrible that I read that sentence and giggled madly?

Well are womens rights different then mens?

"Sensible" is arguably subjective in this case. I suppose it would depend on whether or not one would think nekkid wimmins (also a flimsy description, considering no genitals are visible, unless you count the shape of the mounds, in which case all boobs that aren't encased in armor should be removed) on inanimate objects should be something to censure simply because it makes someone uncomfortable. Especially since the inanimate object can be entirely avoided. I mean, God forbid such filth as the shape of a female body be present where eyes can actually look upon it.

And that, sir, is why it brought me much humor! Well played!
@The topic:
I do not see why this is a problem. DAI has enough interesting and believable female characters to be immune to the accusation of sexism. At some point art is just art: made that way because someone saw it as beautiful. And if it's supposed to be a religious symbol, then I'd prefer a stylized beautiful female body to what Christianity would probably put there if it existed on Thedas.
Having said that, Sebastian's armor was hilarious. Anders' comment was one of DA2's best lines.
I think alot of people do associate it with sex(sad is right), as an artist i find the human body to be beautiful(female or male) and you can create endless amounts of inspiration from it
It's sad that nudity is considered something that needs to be hidden, that is shameful and that is bad. When did we become so prude? Or is it because people associate the nude body with sex?
I associate nude body with shower. Every morning.
I hate the nude figurine thing too. I hadn't realized the top weapon schematics are tied to them, but not shocked. I mean this is the game that made female qunari's have model bodies. I just knew they'd be stocky strong amazon types, but no-skinny hourglass girls. ![]()

OMG, there's a speck of beauty that hasn't been purged yet! Quick, get the "MoCoReTaFo" (morally correct representation task force) on it!
While we are at it, Cullen and Iron Bull, at least, need some serious toning down. They are far better built than the average male and promote unrealistic ideas about masculinity. Get on it!

I swear, it's as though some people seem to think having attractive female characters is itself sexist. I've been seeing it in the witcher thread too. Strong female characters cease to be strong because they are good looking and show some cleavage. It's ridiculous.
There's nothing wrong with female characters being attractive, there is something wrong with thinking only one type of female is attractive. Variety is good!
The OP is not a prude. Prudes generally don't buy games that have "nudity and sexual content" warning labels on the package and then turn around and complain that they're "uncomfortable" with the nudity. This was about gender politics, pure and simple.
Besides which, as others have rightly pointed out, it's perfectly tasteful artistic weapon ornamentation, meant to be admired for it's beauty.
Lamentably, she speaks of it as if it were a pair of crocheted boobies hanging from some cab driver's rear-view mirror.
There are people who bought this game and now complain about the profanity in it and how it makes them uncomfortable. Just saying. ![]()

Haha, there's so much truthiness in this. Luckily male characters aren't expected to represent guys everywhere like people expect female characters to do. We recognise them for what they are, individuals. If people could do the same for women characters it would help to stop a lot of this stuff. Unfortunately there's the "male power trip" excuse though.
@lee80
When did SnakeCode say he only thinks one type of female is attractive?
Bet the Pope's regalia doesn't depict anybody's junk.
Mind you, I don't much care about it one way or another, but I'd probably consider the Reverse Rule applicable. Would it be OK to depict a male figure as explicitly? If the answer is no, give that girl a loincloth or something.
Malcolm's Honor was kinda silly. Andraste's labia were clearly visible. No, I didn't stare at it, but it was positioned right at head height in every screen shot, so it was kinda hard to miss.
But like I said. I'm not offended by it, and I'm not asking that it be removed. This isn't my fight. But I do wonder why someone would go to such lengths to see a pair of jugs.
You're injecting blame to see jugs "unfairly and explicitly" when it's not.
If you gave it two seconds thought, it's the ESRB's decision whether Bioware can depict junk or not. If they could, trust me, they would. This is common sense. Common knowledge. An open labia is the same as junk.
Context is key. Many ancient goddesses were commonly depicted as powers of fertility or just beauty, so they were also depicted in the real world showing their female bodies. It's not something to be ashamed of, so it makes perfect sense in context for the game.
The female form has indeed been used for centuries as a decorative element.
The male form has as well, but it is less common today--Perhaps male developers don't like to be reminded of their shortcomings? *wink*
This silly issue is easily resolved. Perhaps some free DLC in the form of a fascinus amulet. That would even things up nicely!
How about a chain and amulet(minotaur one) like the one from the movie Your Highness i think its called with james franco
that would cause an interesting panic it seems
Statue of the Egyptian goddess Isis:

Statue of the Roman goddess Venus:

Damn i wish i knew how to create art like those beautiful pieces
Put some pics of nude male god statues i would but i dont know how
The staff actually doesn't show any details whatsoever. No nipples, her legs are together and show no labia. Just a Barbie statue.
(the left one. the right is a modded version)
Actually the staff does show her lady parts, at least it did in DA2. There is a definately an anatomically correct slit between her legs. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, Im just pointing it out.

That's kinda my take on it. I love the shape of the human body regardless of gender and consider it a miracle of form and function. I have no particular objection to nudity in any form... but most of the time, I dislike the way it's perceived. Since the dawn of time, perhaps, it has become an object of titillation, not respect, and that's kinda sad since it is so beautiful.
I don't need nudity in the game. If I want to see the human form in its full perfection, the fine arts provide ample opportunity and life drawing classes satisfy my need for variety. When I see naked bodies in the game, I know it's just to satisfy a demand for MOAR BOOBS and that's kinda frustrating. No, I don't have any objection to boobs. I have a magnificent set myself. It's just that their presence in the game seems more like appeasement than appreciation, and that's frustrating. Plus, it's always one sided. You don't see male forms portrayed in this manner. If it were truly art, the distribution would celebrate both genders.
