Is depressing that male characters can look & act anyway they want while females usually have to be sexy, act feminine & have no physical imperfections or they'll get accused of looking hideous or manly, i still
at the people who dismissed josephine as being ugly over her having a beauty mark while most people seem to have little problem with IB missing an whole eye
Edit: Blabla removed, don't want to get into a major discussion here.
Also, I just want to point out, as a counter-example, that I absolutely love Jack who is anything but feminine except for one tender, story-wise well prepared, moment (1). And I'm pretty certain I'm not alone in that. I still dislike Cassandra's and Josephine's look. One got butchered from DA2, and I can't forgive BW for that (aging, scarring etc. would have been okay, but the jaw change... unnecessary and jarring) (2), and Josephine is just bland. Sue me.

(1) And even there it's debatable if that's 'feminine', or simply well understandable emotional release. I'd go for the second.
(2) The same actually applies to Varric, both his looks (I think it's his forehead, not sure, but it's off compared to DA2) and character/writing have become decidedly worse from DA:KW to DA:I. So, not just a female problem.
