Actually, as a top tier game that is priced below legitimate value (*) I figure I still owe Bioware some moolah, so I'll happily pay for a couple of DLC.

(*) - Price for a top tier game in 1990 was $49.99.  It was that for a long time and has only been going above that for some few years now.   Based on inflation between then and now, they should legitimately be charging anywhere between $90-$100 for the non deluxe versions.

Considering that the game is unfinished and we still paid the full price... eh. :P

You know what's even more fun? In Germany we get the same price for all games... only in euros, not in dollars. Which is insulting. There is no reason we should have to pay 13-40% (depending on the exchange rate) more than US gamers, for an english, digital version no less. It's the exactly same game, delivered by download. Why do we have to spend -more- for it? And to make it even more insulting, our release date was days after the US. Again, why?

I'm not saying we deserve free stuff to make up for this... but it's easy to see how one could feel entitled to... something.

I honestly don't know if this 1 USD = 1 EUR bullshit is because of publishers being money grubbing whores or if it is because of EU VATs or something like that (or a combination of both). But for example CD Projekt compensated everybody in EU who bought Witcher 2 for full price on GOG, which was really thoughtful of them (and the difference was something like 15 USD added back to your account, not a negligible amount). On the other hand Valve, EA, Blizz, Ubi and all the others couldn't give a flying f*ck about this.

It p*sses me off, that is why I never buy games for full price on any digital platform, 60 EUR is just unjustifiable for standard version of a game, I'll get them from my local retailer and even with postage it costs little bit less than 60 USD (I wonder if they will adjust for the fact that dollar got a lot stronger over the past few months). I only buy games on Steam in summer / winter sales or on g2a (but they very recently added VAT for EU countries).

I am a PC player/gamer. I certainly hope you are including me in this "We". I am getting sick of you people lumping all PC players together. Yes, there are SOME PC players that are having issues with this game and yes it needs to be addressed. Along with the issues that are affecting other platforms.

I have played 874 hours of this game with no issues, so why therefore would I demand free DLC?

The difference being is that I don't go around starting threads in every section titled "WE PC players are loving this bug free game you developed and we represent the entire PC Community"

You nor I can speak for every PC player out there.

Demand free dlc because it wasn't to your expectations?

Next you'll be spouting even more nonsensical nonsense like vote Hilary for president.

Spoiler

EXPECTATIONS FOR THE GAME TO WORK AS INTENDED ON RELEASE? You're out of line. This game wasn't even remotely ready for PCs.

You're right. I can't speak for every PC player. It was a sarcastic, generalized statement. The fanboys don't get this and neither does Bioware.

The whole point of the post was to express my frustration and anger that we're still waiting for much needed fixes. The fanboys of course, leapt to defend this crummy, beta splooge and to hear them say that they would buy DLC for this game is priceless. Hey fanboys, I have a bridge to sell you. It's incomplete, has major issues with encumberance by powerful rigs (pun), but you'll have to pay $60 to cross it.

DUH!

Dear Bioware:

We accepted the role as BETA testers for Dragon Age Inquistion since the November launch date and it's becoming increasingly clear that this engine requires a lot of skilled programmers to fix the ever-increasing (not decreasing) issues that arise with each patch.

In short, we want swag.

Maker help us all.

You are aware that DAI was released on all the platforms right? Not just the PC you elitist.

You're right, but there is now way I'm spending that kind of money until the game is polished. Even then, if I wait, the game usually is already in the bargain bin. I'm just ANGRY that this is my fourth preorder to fail at launch and this time... it was blatant.

Listen to me carefully: I'm an elitist, but it doesn't take away that this game wasn't ready for launch like consoles. And no... not really. I love consoles for console games. Not a console port to PCs.

Again... and a most deserving...

DUH!

Not feeling quite this entitled today; am willing to pay for quality DLC, but will gratefully except it also if free.

The game as it was upon release was chock full of infuriating bugs that made it considerably difficult to complete let alone even consider a replay. I can't remember the last time I ever had to force my system to shutdown and restart, going through the process of checking the file system with such frequency, and skip through tons of dialogue because of aggravating freezes, with only moderate success. At this point, being sympathetic toward the PC group over these issues has become increasingly difficult.

This is why I laugh at the whole duping exploit that BioWare plugged up. So tragic.

Don't you think it's kinda sad that you paid for something and the thing came full of problems?

I would be even more pissed off if I had it for console

With PC it's understandable for people to experience bugs because of the difference in hardware, but to have issues with the game on consoles it's just ridiculous

Now it's called entitlement when people complain when the thing they paid for is not working, and when they didn't get the thing they were promised

EA loves you all

I agree. I know there is a complexity of hardware issues across the PC market (which, by the way, is the vocal minority in terms of sales), but to blatantly put out a product and go on a hiatus after launch is crap. CRAP. The fanboys can justify all they want, but in the end, we're left with software splooge.

Nope; tend to call it entitled when one demands much of anything. YMMV.

Tell us your stance on what else is entitlement? I don't expect free DLC but it'd sure make up for the laundry list of issues that came with DAI considering the massive amount of dollars poured into the initial purchase?

Pushing out paid DLC's for broken features shouldn't, in my opinion, be defensible. yet it looks to me, that you would even defend that.

I WANT TO SUPPORT BIOWARE. I WANT BIOWARE TO SUCCEED. THEY HOLD MY FAVORITE FRANCHISES. I PUT FORTH MY LOYALTY WITH MY WALLET. Not my Daddy's or my Mommy's money. MINE. I preorder stuff because I'm a Bioware Legionairre. The supposed fanboys that come to the game's defense don't have the history I do. I used to be real quiet and passive. BUT FOUR TIMES TO FAIL AT LAUNCH and the game feels unfinished... UNACCEPTABLE.

Yes, I am in agreement. I'm still spazzing out. It wasn't directed at Jeffry, And to those who wonder why I'm here...

I LOVE DRAGON AGE. I LOVE MASS EFFECT. I LOVE FALLOUT.

(to the ignorant, Fallout was a Bioware franchise)

I love(d) Bioware. DO NOT TELL ME THAT PREVIOUS TITLES were bug-filled nightmares. In my own experience, they weren't until Awakenings happened. Then Mass Effect 3. Then Star Wars: the Old Republic.

Bioware had my loyalty. I still think they can produce the best games, but this splooge is just another step in the wrong direction. If Bioware wants casual users, then I'm out of luck. I'm not a casual user. I can go on and on about how great Bioware was, but that's not what they care about.

So, all you fanboys, get in line to kiss my behind.

Uh, what now? Are you talking about Black Isle, perhaps? This is the first time I hear that BioWare was involved with Fallout at all. Do you perhaps have a link to this?

Yeah Fallout is Black Isle and please, alot of Bioware games have had bugs, this is not news. I can't believe the pressure we put on Bioware as a developer compared to so many others, working there must be a nightmare if we act like children all the time. We get to say our piece, we pay for the product, but be smarter with your money. Sometimes it just feels like half the people here bought the game so they could complain.

I personally loved DA:I, but i see room for improvement as i do with alot of Bioware products. Neverwinter Nights wasn't good before the last expansion, there is still time to get this forumla right.

(to Cyan Griffonclaw) So, I have to ask;

"DO NOT TELL ME THAT PREVIOUS TITLES were bug-filled nightmares. In my own experience, they weren't until Awakening happened" - by that, are you saying that you are dictating what others can bring up as criticisms of a game in a thread or that because you did not experience these bugs-filled nightmares then they did not occur? Or is this a denial joke?

Shechinah:

Inquisition is my fourth preorder failure to launch. Meaning, I had to wait days or months to get the game going. Every game has bugs at release. Developers are there to help patch or direct people to change a setting. Today, thanks to Sartoz and DarkAmaranth1966, I am actually playing the game. Do I like the game? Yes. Do I like that it's a straight console port to PCs. No. Can I live with that? Yes.

What I can't accept is that it's taking community members to solve the issues. Origin and EA technical support are great, but they're not responsible for patches or hotfixes... BIOWARE is responsible for that. Each patch is a gamble to see if it will break something else instead of fixing an issue. It's also disheartening to see very little interaction from the developers. It smacks of arrogance.

You can also get in line.
