You know, it really isn't fair to CD Projekt Red, but they'll never see a dime from me just because of the attitudes of their fans.
This is a sentiment I see a lot on these forums but what exactly have Witcher fans done to ****** you off so much?

In the wake of Witcher 2's successful release after DA2's lukewarm one, many disgruntled BioWare fans posted smugly about how much better Witcher 2 was, and became CDPR fans. KoP is probably one of the more high profile ones here, though he kept a very level head about it all. Did enjoy his massive analysis blog posts about W2 factions and politics. CDPR have also gone out of their way to market themselves as a 'core gamer, pro-consumer force' with their DLC policies, enhanced edition patches and the like. This is in stark contrast to EA's 'games r 2 hrad' public policy. Some of it is simply smoke and mirrors (mainly the advertising of such policies), but a good chunk of it is genuinely appreciated by gamers in general.
Beyond that. there are quite a few edgelords in the CDPR fanbase, who like to brag about how GRITTY AND REALISTIC the Witcher setting is compared to Dragon Age (though the explosion of ASoIaF as well as the GoT TV series have made this less obvious, since GRITTY AND REALISTIC is now mainstream). I suffered from bouts of it after W2's release, so I'm not exactly immune, though I've cooled my jets since then.
What's more intriguing though has been the reaction of certain parts of the BioWare fanbase. If CDPR's fanboys are fedora tipping edgelords, then the BioWare fanboys who hate them are suffering from hemorrhoids tier butthurt. People are still calling CDPR 'sexist' and 'misogynists' because they are faithfully adapting a GRITTY AND REALISTIC book universe, unwilling to give their games a chance because of the tacky sex cards in their 2007 game that they promptly removed in the sequel. I'm not talking specifically about people in this thread, but the mindset still runs deep in BioWare's hardcore fanbase.

I've seen pettier and LOLworthy gripes against witcher than that, such as complaining about the lack of female player option and how it's too "hetero-male".
The so called "sexist" and "misogynist" complaints are even more comical when you take into account how various Biowarian female character designs(Morrigan,Miranda,Samara,Isabela, etc) look like something straight out of Dead or Alive and other tecmo-koei games.
And let us not forget this bit of advertising for DA:O.
The cognitive dissonance is strong amongst the Bioware fanbase.
I hate Bioware and CD projekt red fans equally. I struggle to think of fan bases I don't hate.

I'm pretty sure it's just as strong in the Witcher fanbase as well.

How so?
How so?
Judging on how I've seen fans from the Witcher fanbase calling Dragon Age fans children, stupid and playing a "dumbed down" game. I'd assume they'd be blind to The Wicthers faults as well and come across as hypocritical.

There's no shortage of complaints about witcher 1 and 2's faults on the official boards and on rpg codex(like about 2's reverse difficulty).
As for attacking DA fans, there's some fun to be had with mud slinging between fanbases. Though the most fun I've had was with mud slinging within a fanbase, specifically back during the Paragon vs Renegade days in the ME2 board where I lead a Renegade "gang" called "the blood brotherhood" against the obnoxious Paragon posters in various threads. The sweetest part about it? I managed to score a chick from the forum IRL due to my renegade bad boy behavior and almost landed a second(damn the distances between continents).

I really like these Fans in the Summer..

Very Dalish..
Take a drink!
That GIF doesn't beat...
Now take another.
Another comparision thread.
She's like the perfect gif for EA fans, Evil, Clueless, Opinionated, Completely devoid of emotion, incestuous b1tch..
Lets not forget Sarah Conner Chronicles ![]()

I think it's gonna fly!
Hope both games achieve success, though I likely will only play DAI due to personal choice. They do have much in common:
* Both have been slammed for fetch quests.
* Both have been slammed for GUI.
* Both have been slammed for combat mechanics.
* Etc.
Seeing as TW1 was made on the same engine as NWN1, I prefer to see these as cousins; not adversaries.

Never played it, but it looks better than NWN 1 but not better than NWN 2.
'Well the Witcher 3 will definately have no fag00t quests and faggotry in general. When you feel insulted by the word fag00t how it relates to fag00t quests and romances you dont understand the meaning of the term. And so you are a fag00t ![]()
And why are you censoring words that dont define a sexual minority ? since when have you changed the meaning of a word heh ? i would like to know which term would be appropriate to "define" the booring, silly and uninspiring DAI stuff. Do i have to invent new words extra for you ?
And medieval beautys... yeah. With no teeth in the mouth, not bathed more then a week and working from dawn to late evening made the woman in the medieval age very attractive.... fo sure!

Sssst. It "suits" their character so then it's alright.
Favorite defense of both Bioware and the fans.

It's a comical defense, as they infer that the outfits of chicks in DOA and other games don't "suit" them, when in actuality the opposite is true. The likes of Tina Armstrong in her various wrestling outfits(her being a wrestler and all) is far more fitting than the ME2/3 female characters whom are supposed to be combat troops in space and have exposed cleavage and high heels in hazardous environments.
I'd go a step further and say that female characters in DOA are portrayed better too, they're portrayed as competent fighters whom don't need the player self insert to solve their daddy issues or their magical penis to solve their emotional issues(ala Jack), they just get in the ring and start swinging.
And I just remembered, I once saw some bioware fangirl complain about how Witcher "objectifies" women....... while having a Miranda avatar. ![]()
Now it will supposedly be about 100 hours gameplay and 50 hours story.
What exactly does that mean? 50 hours on the main quest and 100 hours of sidequests? 50 hours of dialogue and cutscenes and 100 hours of combat?

...Mario?
I feel like the Mario fanbase is the most laid back, accepting and chill of any fanbase. I mean, the guy has been in platformers, racing games, fighting games, puzzle games, card games, RPGs... there isn't a genre Mario hasn't touched on. And still his fanbase doesn't decry Nintendo for selling out or anything. Mario can do no wrong to his fans, which makes them pretty decent.
Then again, I don't even know if a fanbase for Mario really exists, so... there's that.
Fps. Suuuuuuuuuuucka!
No fetch quests? Yeah sure.
PR gonna PR.
To be totally honest I can't find the part where CDProjekt Red actually makes the claim that there will be no fetch quests, even in the article quoted by OP they do not claim to have no fetch quests, it is all about making the quests in the game interesting and worth doing instead of just having them there for the sake of padding out the game.
