Are you talking about DAI?

'cause you don't have super powers from the get go in DAII. The mark in DAI qualifies though, I guess. And in DAI not every LI will romance you, no matter what. Faaaaaaaar from it. Geralt's getting far easier action than either Hawke OR Quizzy, it's also a lot less meaningless. (I'm still not over how they handled Ves & Shani)

But I guess four bisexuals hanging out together is too much to handle in DAII? I'm like......what?

Gaider said they weren't bisexual. They were player sexual. He also stated that he preffered to have set sexualities for each character. The reason why everyone in DA2 were "bisexual" was simply because it was yet another corner cut due to a too short development time. Much like the infamous cave in the game.

Doesn't matter how easy Geralt has it. My point was that DA2 has the same thing.

You should really stop using "we". Im male and I didn't the games for their lackluster gameplay, trite story, and rampant disgusting sexism. Not all males agree with you. In fact, many don't.  I can admire them for their technical prowess and graphical quality and well written antagonists, but I don't find much else to enjoy. Also, yes Bioware has a liberal biased agenda. However, everything game has an agenda. Again, several of my friends love Bioware games as they are the only company that actually wants to support nonstraight male characters (also what does the rain have to do with anything). Bioware has been helping the female and LGBT audiences for over a decade now. Get used to it.

When I use 'we' then I speak of like minded men like myself. I would not dare to include progressive and englightened myn. I would love to see them stop helping them and leave the agenda zone.

What does your class or heritage have anything to do with enjoying the gmae. My family is incredibly Polish, which was part of the reason I loved the original books. The game simply show a power fantasy,  nothing more.

Perception. Power fantasy? I'm not versed in genres but to me playing TW2 was a fine, gritty feast.

Bolding mine.

Part of me still hopes that such an amount of blatant sexism and mind boggling selfishness can only be sarcasm.

But I'll say this: You always get what you like, 99.98% of entertainment caters to you while you begrudge us the 0.02% we are sometimes given. You feast and get angry at others living on crumbs, if even that much.

This, exactly this kind of entitlement and ignorance (Serious or sarcastic) is what's wrong with CDPR and the audience they target. They're welcome to it though.

*Shudders*

I deny your hopes.

Yes and I would like to always receive what I want. I'm not angry(anger does not fit a proper gentleman) and I disagree, CDPR is doing a splending work. I find no ignorance in entitlement but will and power.

So if someone's siblings & Mom die & they lose their home twice, that's not a personal tragedy because? As someone who has lost her Mom and a sibling, lemme tell ya, it's real enough and it's bloody personal. What the hell is this even?

You have my deepest sympathies (no sarcasm)

You don't have to do that in the Witcher, either. It's optional.

Can't remember a version of TW2 that didn't put Geralt in bed with Triss, it really isn't optional at all.

Yes it is a personal tragedy. It still doesn't change the fact that the fellow has superpowers and people just fall at his feet, does it?

Superman and SPiderman have personal tragedies too, by the way.

I'm not sure where you got that from, just because the Witcher games doesn't try to make everyone seem equal does not mean CDPR promotes or target that kind of audience.

Power fantasy? In the end Hawke lost his home, his title and possibly his whole family.

Didn't diminish his superpowers or his incredible sexual aura.

Except that........never happens & unless Hawke is a mage, they do not have super powers? Like......at all? That description, again, fits Geralt far more.

No. No, it really doesn't.

Yes, it is exactly the same. You just have to click the heart icon once or twice, and you are there. Love interest will never blow you off in any way. They are drones.

And yes, I know Aveline blows you off but she isn't a love interest.

Yes, but only in the intro scene, where you don't have any control. It's not very different from Hawke giving Isabela that look during her recruiting mission.

Everything else is optional, really.

I got it from the person I was replying to. IDK if the majority of their target audience feel like he does. But it's rather telling that they attract that sort.

In Geralt's case it is in the lore. Teleporting rogues is not in the lore. We are actually told the opposite. So since Hawke can teleport, he has superpowers.

A bit of difference between asking for something, and having it made mandatory; the same thing being debated about Fetch quests.

Um, again, no?

Example A) Make a deal with Topor in the Fade and Anders will break up with you?

Heck, if it is LI difficulty we're talking about......we probably shouldn't talk about the Witcher at all.

So you base your opinions on the beliefs and attitude of one man? Doesn't seem very wise to me.

It is mostly optional in The Witcher too, except for Triss\Yennefer. But those two are not optional because the whole game is based on a series of books.

You do realize that Geralt's main love interest is set in stone, because of the books? He has a "love yennefer spell" on him from the get go.

CDPR has been my favorite developer since I played The Witcher EE starting years ago. Witcher 2 didn't disappoint. Yeah they play differently, but I found it easy to adapt. I love the Witcher world, and have yet to pay for a DLC or any EE upgrades. Their GoG website is frosting on the cake. When I have the option between Steam (which has started offering older games) and GoG, I go with GoG. I have Witcher 3 pre-ordered there too.

I'm watching Bioware carefully with DA:I. Have been playing their games since Baldur's Gate in 2000 but I'm losing interest. I can't play their games/series back to back because of the features that annoy me (chalk that up to my getting older lol; my brother and I agree we were more patient with games as kids) but some of the design decisions have been a constant pain across games.

He/she doesn't teleport. Being fast and using tools available to rogues (Camouflage) is being agile & nimble but not a super power. Unless really fast RL fighters have super powers too then? But game mechanics & all that.....really, splitting hairs now.

One scene, and it's Geralt's girlfriend. If it was a character that the player created then this would be a problem. But Geralt is like Batman, or Harry Potter, or James Bond. Taken from another medium. He's a set character than we can only influence his personality and world view (slightly) because of his amnesia. I get people's gripes with having to do the scene, but it's really not the big deal people make it out to be.

Again: So what? Superman loses his parents too. Doesn't make him any less of a superhero. A power fantasy isn't about everyone around you not being harmed. It is about being powerful from the first second. So powerful that everyone just swoons over you for no reason.

I love how the Bioware forum is being used to advertise CDPR's superior work.
