You do realize that Geralt's main love interest is set in stone, because of the books? He has a "love yennefer spell" on him from the get go.

Oh, I'm aware & I'm excited to meet Yenn in TW3. They did say though that they'd work in an option to choose either of them. We'll have to wait & see. (I have pre-ordered the game anyway, heh)

He/she doesn't teleport. Being fast and using tools available to rogues (Camouflage) is being agile & nimble but not a super power. Unless really fast RL fighters have super powers too then? But game mechanics & all that.....really, splitting hairs now.

Tools you never have to buy, and that you have an unlimited supply of for no reason. The lore also states that teleporting via magic is impossible in Dragon Age, and that magic items can never do anything a spell can't do...So yeah....its not the items doing it.

Nope. On twenty years of experience as a gamer.

I don't see what that has to do with anything? You quite clearly stated that you got that opinion from one guy on the internet.

I was going to pre-order it myself, but after pre-ordering DA:I, I won't ever pre-order again. No matter what publisher.

Anyway my point was that even though the witcher has some power fantasy elements to the games, Bioware games has it too.

I love how the Bioware forum is being used to advertise CDPR's superior work.

Its not superior but it does make me more horny after I play the Witcher for some strange and unknown reason. Its a mystery on how they manage that. :D

He's an extreme example because he's more blatant about it than most. That's all.

Anyway, Witcher DLC.......wasn't this thread originally about that? I hope it'll be story DLC this time.

Hawke as a superpowered character? What!?

He or she was no more powerful, to me, than the grey warden. The only difference would be Hawke had no reason or god mode ability like closing rifts or being able to stop arch demons which made him special. He or she was a more REAL protagonist than the rift closing inquisitor because he/she has vulnerability or things happening to the protagonist life itself (family ect).

I know not Geralt or anything, I just find the statement about him or her being a sexual aura'd beast of power a bit strange..

I got it from the person I was replying to. IDK if the majority of their target audience feel like he does. But it's rather telling that they attract that sort.

Generalizing whole groups of people is great isn't it?

It's as ridiculous as somebody saying all Bioware fans are SJWs and Tumblrinas, or that all GTA fans are killers and criminals in the making, or that all gamers are loner virgin neckbeards who live in their mothers basement... Oh wait, those last two are happening right now in the media anyway.

On that we are def. in agreement. *Nods* There's also nothing wrong with it per se.

Hawke can kill an archdemon same as anyone else. He just can't destroy its soul. That is the only special thing about a warden, actually. Hawke is also immune to the blight, same as the wardens. And the warden's can teleport or use magic as a rogue or warrior. Hawke can.

Honestly. this thread is so off-topic, it might as well be renamed. I think they said they'll be minor sidequests. They already said it's not tens of hours of story DLC.

Snakecode, I did preface it with saying that I don't know if the majority feels that way. And a large amount of posts in this thread alone has used the "SJW", "gay agenda" and "catering to minorities" argument. But I get what you're saying & you're right. I'm sorry.

I respect what CDPR is doing, that does not mean every company should copy them. Witcher 3 is giving out things like hairstyles, a few armor sets, and some different mounts.

Bioware has had some bad paid DLC in the past, alternate appearance packs and item packs spring to mind. But they have also released some terrific additional content; Citadel, Awakening, Project Overlord, Mark of the Assassin, etc. are all great DLC packs that should absolutely be charged for.

I agree. I was just pointing out the double-standard the other fellow dished out, when he praised DA for this and that, and bashed the witcher for being "only a power fantasy"

We can always hope for an expansion then.

Minorities should be catered to too. They pay the same money for a product, and should not feel excluded. But it shouldn't feel forced in either direction. It should be a natural thing.

Hawke isn't immune to the Blight, he she just doesn't catch it, same as DAO's non Warden companions. Oh, warriors can use magic in DAO, hi Templar class. Neither Hawke nor the Warden can use magic as a rogue tho.

EA also made the players pay for an EA Access subscription if they wanted to play the demo of DA:I. CDPR wins by default after that bit. Even if all 16 DLC's just includes a single haircut.

I hope so as well. However, if we're going by their previous track record they'll patch in the Enhanced Edition, which usually contains a couple hours of extra content. Don't forget they are also working on Cyberpunk 2077, so they'll probably put more effort into that after The Witcher 3 is released.

Hawke teleports as a rogue.

Templar magic use is in the lore. That gives it a free pass.

Agreed. CDPR haven't said anything that differs from that either. They just said it would take something massive like an expansion or something that adds many hours of story for them to charge for it.

Eh, it wasn't a demo, it was Early Access, not the same thing at all. And it was a feature of a Premium Membership to EA Access. Hence it being Early ACCESS, not a demo. As in, you bought the game, unlocked it & got to play early. That's not how Demos work.

a DLC system like in Sims 3 for DAI would be great.

more hair styles, more pyjamas, so many ways to play.
