For DA:I word of mouth is mostly very negative, though. Despite the astonishing reviews and awards. They have alienated a huge portion of their fanbase now.

Funny how that happens isn't it? It's almost like there's this huge disconnect with the majority of gamers and the VG media...

Metacritic? Amazon? As in Troll Haven? Nope. I will look at the players I know (LPers and Reviewers I trust whom I know actually played the game) 'cause it takes nothing to write a "review" on Metacritic/Amazon and FB....nah. I'd NEVER use any of the to gauge the quality of a game.

You would rather put your faith in all the reviewers that didn't mention any of the bugs in the game? The game actually has some pretty game-breaking ones.

EA should pay the gamers. That might make both ends meet...

Nobody forces you to buy their products either. If you're so concerned about your demographic then perhaps play the vast collection of games that do just that, instead of lamenting one of the few that doesn't?

Has it ever occured to you that Bioware WANT to cater to different types of people, cause I gotta tell you, that's the impression i've been getting for many years now. The devs have stated that they don't care about alienating others in the process, because if you feel alienated  by not receiving the lion's share of the content then you aren't the target audience anyway.

I'm well aware of it. To be honest I was avoiding informations about DA:I to get close to none spoilers. I did not know what kind of red lyrium it will turn out to be.

yes, it has occured to me and I would like EA to force a good change on BioWare team and purge the unwanted elements of agenda in favour of a more appriopriate content. Of course it might never happen and I will simply abandon the ship, but I for now I will speak against the current state of things. I doubt it has anything to do with size of audience, but much more deeper running taint.

No. I do not. As I stated in the post you quoted, there are LPers, online reviewers who aren't writing for a gaming rag and friends that I'd trust far more. Thing is, Review bombing by users is a thing and that is why I trust no reviews written by people I do not know. Metacritic (Esp. them), Amazon and FB are at the bottom of my list tbh. And I enjoyed DAI. A lot. And I haven't run into game breaking bugs, at least no more game breaking than the ones in DAO. (DAA's still top everything tho)

but nobody forces them to buy these products. I'm against inclusion of agendas. I would prefer BioWare to focus on harmonious content and cater to most probably healthy majority of players. Many companies do just fine without widening their grip, BioWare should simply pull its hand back.

Tevinter armours, armours in general. The game is lacking armours!

Actually, when youre a gamer who enjoys seeing all of the new games that come out, you basically are forced to see heterosexual romances and mysogny, if you want to participate in the discussion.

Also, what is your opinion of Tevinter?

And then there's that.

NVM that if you had romanced Ashley only to be forced into a relationship with Liara in the next game & it was explained in a CODEX in a patch...imagine the flaying BioWare would have received for that. CDPR did that with Triss & Shani. So....yeah, that's one of my major beefs with CDPR's "deep storytelling" where choices supposedly matter.

Sorry. but i simply had to react on this.

Just imagine CDRP would give you the option to kill Triss in the first game and return her back in the second, no matter what.

Well BW actually did this with Leliana in the Urn of sacred ashes quest.

Altough i prefere the DA franchise over the Witcher, this wasn't the best example for how BW does things better

I mean the "choices that matters" part

I hope you guys have a lot of fun with your special hat for Geralt.

Laughing my ass off to be honest. Game isn't even released yet, nothing is known about these DLCs, but tonnes of people are already saying they are going to buy the game now.

Setting yourself up for disappointment again, huh?

Oh, believe me, I'm just as angry about that. Even though I never actually kill Leliana in any of my PTs. I do like to romance Shani though.

You know what I'm not entirely convinced that the problem with Witcher is that it caters to straight males, maybe it's more about how it does it and how it promotes itself that turn some people off (myself included). I've been thinking about it recently: I have no problem for instance with watching shows like Strike Back, which is 100% testosterone, and enjoying it for the action eyecandy that it is, but Witcher somehow manages to put  "this is not for you" sign on itself. Admittedly if Strike Back was done as a game there is no telling if I would want to play it, depends again on how it would be done,  but I've came to conclusion that I'm not interested in watching anything Witcher related anymore.

Exactly! Films like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are great fun to watch, but they dont give the same vibe as the Witcher does

Ihad to restart the whole damn game after 25 hours or so, due to a bug with conversations freezing up. That one got fixed in a patch, I believe because I didn't encounter it in my seconds attempt to play the game. That time I played for 50 hours or so, before a different bug kept me from continuing. I am still locked in place by that one, actually. I have been since mid december. No fix in sight either, it seems. I did ask about the bug 5 times on their facebook page, but the posts got deleted. Plenty people commented and reported the same bug though, before it got whisked away.

Funny, outside of this forum and Metacritic( which I wouldn't take seriously), I don't see much in the way of negative word of mouth. Even YouTube is fairly positive.

You are not forced, you are merely a subject to norms.

Tevinter Imperium? The enlightened state of DA universe. One of two my favourites, Elvhenan is my first choice of adoration.

You forgot about Anders. He can die in Awakening, without ever meeting Justice too. That actually happens after Anders meets Hawke in DA2 (timeline got messed up). So a character that should be dead starts a war...And you have zero influence over it at all.

Heterosexual people are the majority and is also the norm, so it's only natural. I know you didn't ask for my opinion on Tevinter, but I want to give it anyway. I think Tevinter is perhaps the greatest nation in Thedas, minus the rampant slavery. The strong prosper and the weak serve the strong, magic is seen as a gift and tool, so much so that entire families pride themselves on creating a bloodline of excellent Mages. The Chantry is there, but Tevinter is ruled by mages, the strong, which only makes sense. I agree with almost everything about Tevinter and what it stands for.

The Briala cutscene not firing? I actually scoured the Internet after you mentioned it & didn't find much about it. That sucks though. :(

THe norm is necessarily the right path though. The norm a hundred years ago would be to stop women from voting and keep blacks in servitude. Doesn't make those positions right though.

Also, why would you support a xenophobic, insane, murderous slave state!?!

No clue if it is Briala. Nothing happens, and my Orlesian Court approval keeps dropping. That court approval bit dropping when you are away was one rotten design choice.

It is a content catering to norms and biggest monetary contributors. Quite natural state of being.

I'm not talking about YouTube reviewers, I'm talking about people in comment sections. Unless you're proposing that every single positive comment is from someone who was paid off,

Yes, that has totally prevented everyone from making raging hate videos.

Oh wait, that's not how it works. EA pays people to say positive things, but that in no way is stopping anyone from saying negative things. Especially those millions of people who aren't on EA's paylist; they can say whatever the hell they want.

How much are they paying you? You are actually defending EA from paying people for false advertisement.
