Need some thoughts. I have Anora under house arrest in Denerim. She has a couple of servants (handpicked by Leliana) to see to her needs but she no longer enjoys the same standard of living she had as Queen. Erlina was packed off to Orlais. The royal couple are almost ready to publicly announce the Queen's pregnancy but want to let Anora know as a mark of respect (more as Cailan's widow, than anything else).

 

1. Sorcha tells Anora on her own, Alistair tells Anora on his own, they tell her together
2. Where has she been incarcerated? In a couple of secure rooms in Eamon's estate, Fort Drakon (somewhat Tower of Londonish affair apart from the main cells)?

They have to tread carefully with her, mindful that she was popular once, and keeping the populace approval at her living conditions fairly high so that she doesn't gain too much support to allow her freedom.

 

Any suggestions welcome.

I dunno. Is Anora imprisoned there since the blight ended? That would make her a prisoner for over ten years. It seems a bit extreme that she spends all of that time at Fort Drakon so I would choose another place. Although it wouldn't be impossible. After all there were Royals in Tower of London too. William de la Pole was even incarcerated at the Tower for 37 years for plotting against the King. But Anora wasn't actively plotting against anyone and she had a justified claim to the throne after Cailan's death. If she is still imprisoned now I assume that it is more precautionary and not a punishment. I would consider a nicer facility, maybe a manor outside of Denerim where she is still under house arrest and watched by handpicked guards. Louis XVI and his family were under house arrest at the Tuileries Palace during the French Revolution (they tried to flee, of course, so it didn't go too well for them), so that wouldn't be impossible either. Eamon's Estate seems like a better choice IMO.

 

I don't know if Sorcha / Alistair / both of them should tell Anora about the pregnancy. Alistair makes the most sense since Cailan was his brother.

This is while Sorcha is pregnant with Dane who is 8 in the first story which is Inquisition time, so no, not 10 years of house arrest for Anora. At least, not yet.

 

I do agree with having Alistair tell Anora of the pregnancy. Having thought about it - Sorcha giving the news may be a bit too much of a slap in the face seeing as they are/were Queen of Ferelden. This is not what Sorcha is about. Besides, I like it when Alistair gets all 'take chargey'.
