I've just got the the part of the champions of the just Templars quest where you are in the great hall and have got to rescue the templar officers and collect the lyrium.

However, the two side door, leading to the upper barracks and the officers quarters, seem to be bugged. Walking up to them and pressing the interact button leads to a 2-3 minute black loading screen and then puts you back into the great hall again, making it impossible to complete the quest.

I notice when I walk up to the doors that the text on the interact prompt seems to change between officers quarters / upper barracks and 'greatt hall.' I assume that the bug lies here - the door is trying to take you back to the great hall rather than where it is supposed to.

This is an extremely serious bug as it effectively breaks the game, I am totally unable to progress. Please fix this bioware...

Yeah, I got this bug too. It was after installing Patch 3, if that means anything.

I just competed this quest on PC today. If anyone else is having this problem, walk slowly up to either door and it should give the officer's quarters option. If it doesn't work, try a slightly different angle. Don't open the door with the Great Hall option, as it will result in a long loading screen that puts you back in the Great Hall.

Hope this helped! :)

I'm falling into this crap at the moment as well. Very annoying.

Never had this happen to me and I did the quest three times.  I always used the same pattern though, and this works on Nightmare.

- From the great hall, go to the north rooms first.

- Ignore the mobs and head straight into the Lord Seeker's key room, where Cole cutscene occurs

- Exit room and go right (i think), grab the all the Lyrium.

- Exit the lyrium room and head left, all the way down, enter the last room to find the Veteran.  This can all be done in one go if you ignore the courtyard mobs.

- For the southern rooms, you can rescue both veterans in one go, so you only need to return to the Great Hall once.

I never bugged using this pattern, and found it the most efficient as well as having time to loot.

First time this happened was just recently, and not before, so I'm guessing it's the patch! I just moved my Inquisitor around until the right name showed up on the door, then exited. Now if the stick bug can be fixed when I fight the Envy Demon, all would be well!

This is a bug that I've encountered in a few locations that use double-sided doors, such as in the Winter Palace during Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. I can usually get around it by right clicking on the door to trigger the correct transition, but when using the Interact button I get the frustrating few minutes of pointless loading time nine times out of ten.

It seems like something that could be easily fixed by disabling the trigger to the room you're already in, but Bioware has yet to heed our pleas on the issue.

I had this bug.  The great hall doors here, and also sometimes the Winter Palace, say where they're linking to, and it's very easy to miss if you click as soon as the link appears.  You get stuck in a long loading screen and back where you started while precious seconds tick away.  You can try to play through it by waiting a second for the door to sort itself out.  If you do what I did, and frantically click and click to wind up back where I started over and over, you will lose time and health.

Even though the health bar is ticking away, just hover for half a second at the door to make sure it's going to the right place.  If not, wait and it will.

My issue for this mission was I clicked on the eastern door to get to the Great Hall and for some reason I was teleported to the west side of the map right next to the western door instead of entering the Great Hall for some random reason. I was like wth and wound up with some casualties for the templars because of that.
