CANNIBAL CORPSE!!!!!!
Not because I like danzig but I love how John Christ proves you do not need a lot of distortion to be heavy fuckin metal
Oh and Danzig 3 how the gods kill is one of the greatest metal albums I bet no one has
I'm rather fond of symphonic metal. Kamelot is one of my favorite bands.
3 songs from the "Karma" album, a sort of musical biography of the legend behind Elizabeth Bathory.
Foreign folk metal is how I like to roll.
I listen to all kinds of metal/rock and have way too many favourite bands!
Opeth, In Flames(prefer their older era), Amorphis, Children of Bodom, Kalmah, Mors Principium Est, etc etc

VORCHA LOVES THIS SONG!!!!!
i've been kind of neglecting this thread. anyways i've been listening to a lot of new stuff. this band Ne Obliviscaris i've only first heard about 3 months ago and i ended up buying their Citadel album. i gotta say it's pretty spectacular. progressive metal from Australia and they even have a violin player in the band. makes for something different and i've been really enjoying the album.
another record i got is from an Italian band called Nero Di Marte. pretty interesting stuff! again it's progressive but with a big moody atmosphere to their sound. it almost feels 'aquatic' but that may be due using lots of chorus effects on all the guitars. i'd say their style is kind of a combination of Gojira, Neurosis, Isis, Gorguts, and Tool.

Damn, color me impressed.
and here's some Finnish thrash:
2 months, 267 posts, yet no "R.I.P Chuck" ?
BSN, I am disappoint.
been digging the new Primordial album lately.
and gonna throw some Gojira in here ![]()
the latest Gorguts album is phenomenal. real technical but atmospheric, it's a great listen. ![]()
the title track is probably my favorite off the whole album but "Enemies of Compassion" is a really awesome track too!
A majestic masterpiece, a delightful ride for every fan of prog metal, jazz fusion and techdeath, sends shivers down my spine even after years. Especially the gradation to climax (5:52 - 7:26) and 11:00 - 14:20.
Another proggy epic, instantly became one of my favourites. With sublime guitar lines in the chorus, menacing blasted section to break things off, excellent solos and melodic epilogue.
Bumping to introduce you to Kvelertak, a Norwegian band with an interesting blend of black metal, punk and just straight up rock 'n' roll
and Giant Squid, a doom-y, aquatic-themed post-metal/prog group that I can't really describe any better. Fans of the likes of Isis and Mastodon should check them out:
i actually saw Kvelertak when they were touring with Mastodon and Gojira. it was a great show! with three guitarists they had a very thick wall of serious guitar crunchiness going on ![]()
speaking of Mastodon might as well post this:
guitar at 1:07/1:57/6:17 = pure eargasm
the new Cavalera Conspiracy album is pretty sweet. their best one so far in my opinion if you're a fan of Max Cavalera!
