There are some additional schematics and unique items that become available as the game progresses towards the conclusion. Some are available early, if one chooses to explore more dangerous territory. Others may be unlocked by quests, Keep merchants, etc.

Good to know, I shall keep an eye out. of course, I am finding higher level armor, its just that they all look the same after a bit.....I look forward to different looking armors....

Save most of your gold, and also look for Crafting related Perks as options; should be of help to look well dressed in the final Act.

The generic armors look the same. There are quite a few unique armors and armor schematics (such as the Legion of the Dead armor) around but they have drawbacks: they tend to be class and race restricted and they generally don't have upgrade slots.

ironically, just got a fairly unique armor for Varric today, so yay....DA gods have heard me and responded.

In general, crafted armor/weaponry outperforms unique ones, but they do look generic. At least, when equipped by companions, these armors get a personalized look.

However, I've done a couple playthroughs where I've emphasized RP aspects. I've given Robes of the High Keeper for Solas, and Armor of the Knights Divine to Cassandra. The "Grey Warden set" is also nice ("In Peace, Vigilance", "In War, Victory" and "In Death, Sacrifice" armors).

Just finished my first playthrough. Pretty great game, overall. It has some quirks, but any game does.

Played on Normal - some random thoughts

Solas - interesting

End battle - pretty easy on normal mode. The Elder One was pretty hard in that other thing, so was surprised he was such a pushover

Some areas seems like giant Side missions. I guess if I had a surprise aspect of the game, the pacing of the main missions seems a little off this time........not to say that this diminished the experience, but a few areas felt more option than anything.

Rushed through it in comparison - 93 hours. Hit level 22, but the achievement never unlocked.

Will definitely play another round  - this time as a rouge I think.

Thanks again, all. Couldn't have done it without you!

I would recommend playing the other quest from the pair In Hushed Whispers/Champions of the Just.

Is that a post final battle mission?

Ps Love the Qunari - can't imagine the Herald being anything else at the moment

No, it is near the beginning where you side with either the templars or the mages. I meant do on your second pt whichever quest you didn't do on the first one.

Ok, yeah, I agree...i will probably side with the other side this time. Templars was the first time. I kinda plan on playing Solas more, now, that I know the ending (or an ending).

Thanks for the heads up!

Ok cool - yeah, gonna definitely play this time a bit different. My elf is a cranky woman.........and gonna make a lot of aggressive choices, just cause my Quanri was like the nicest guy ever...lol

Surprised he didnt sit down for tea with dragons at times!

One lesson I've learned: do not pick up every requisition you get - I ended up with a half dozen that I could not seem to fill, like the Hinderland locks one....

Okay, if you were level 22 you avoided a lot of side quests anyway.

Edit: and I mean a lot - my current toon is level 24 and she hasn't even gone to

Spoiler

Nevertheless have a happy - how do you wish a 'happy-monster-filled-try-not-to-get-eaten' playthrough anyway :wizard:

Damn...and yeah, I skipped two or possible three of the side quest areas....Went back to that character and made sure I was playing as him when he hit level 22; achievement unlocked for it finally.

Level 5 of my Inquisitior 2.0....gonna go to those areas I skipped first time!
