I'm planning to make a new Adaar Inquisitor, but I'm drawing a big ol' blank on what to name her. I've tried thinking of a name in Qunlat, but I'm hitting two snags: we don't know a whole lot of words in Qunlat, and I'm trying to not start the name with an A or K to maker her more distinct from my other DA OCs (Arthur Hawke and Kimarous Surana). The only one that sounds even remotely good with those criteria is "Esaam", and I'm not sure if "Can be found inside fire thrower" is a meaningful name or just stupid.

And before you ask, no, she isn't a mage, so "Saarebas" isn't going to cut it.

You could try Jezebel or Lucrecia; both rare female names found only on Adaar....

Vasshokra. It means nothing. But it parallels the form of Qunlat, which I think is important. I believe that meaningless names are symbolic and important for Vasoth.

Aradia. Nepeta. Kanaya. Tezeri. Vriska. Feferi.

Anyone would work.

Given how a lot of Qunlat words are mishmashes of other words - "Ari" and "Qun" becoming "Ariqun" and whatnot - maybe trying to make something up by mixing smaller words? "Tal (True) + Asala (Soul) = Talasala"? Anyone think of a better combination?

I skipped complicated Qunlat wrangling by naming mine Revas which is the elven word for freedom because of complicated backstory reasons. I like Talasala though.

I named one of mine "69" once, cause IB said something about Qunari just being numbers... so I thought why the hell not?

True but... I could play as a wannabe Qunari. ;) There is that option, when Josie asks you what you think of it.

I went with Tal-Shok (trans: 'true struggle') for my Qunari Inquisitor.  Go ahead and use it if you want.

 Wait! Jezebel Adaar was what I was gonna name my female Qunari! She was going to be a dual-wield rogue (yes, a rogue!). She was also going to flirt with everyone, wear make-up (not too much) and romance Iron Bull. As a reference to the woman from Jewish history, with the same name (no Jewish though, because ew, circumcision).

Also, I prefer Lucretia to Lucrecia. Just looks a bit better.

Oh, and last year I had considered making a Inquisitor Name Support thread, to help people in situations like this. But it was like 8 months before the game was to be released, so I just forgot about it. Maybe I should?

I'd definitely try to frequent a thread like that to help people come up with names for their elven and Qunari Inquisitors.  May also use it for help naming my dwarven Inquisitors.  Good idea.   ^_^

I think I'd need more than 1 person to give it the all-go. My threads usually go nowhere. LOL

I know the feeling.  My longest thread hit around 14-15 pages, and that was a ME3 MP-related thread.  The majority of my threads don't even make it to 8 pages, much less 10.

8 is better than I've ever gotten. 5 back on the old forums, where 1 page was like 1.5 times as long as it is now.

Oh, that's what I was thinking maybe you meant. How puzzling it was. I always say it "Add-ahh", like in Final Fantasy 12 where Vaan is said "Vahn."

Personally, you'd have to dare me not to play a female Qunari named Jezebel. Lucretia too... B-But not Lucrecia...

Too slippery on the tongue (probably not what she said).

And before you ask, no, she isn't a mage, so "Saarebas" isn't going to cut it.

I just went with a name that sounds like Qunlat (Naavas), since it isn't like we know all the possible Qunari names. You aren't restricted quite so much either and have less of a chance that a bunch of people have named their Qunari Inquisitor exactly the same thing...

Go to a website called Behind The Name or behindthename.com or just google that. Choose demonic names or google Demonic names of mythology or whatever and you'll get a bunch of ideas.

Here are some o my suggestions

Azaez'ul

Veowulf (Pronounced like Beowulf only with a V)

Abbadon

Aelios

Vael'kin

Raedwulf

Gunnarus

Gnash

Valgiest

Arkoz

Bones
