It is called a community "challenge" and not a community "free chest".

People are mixing it up with Monopoly, winning that beauty contest can really go to some peoples heads.

Well, I dont agree on giving away worthwhile items to people for completing challenges that are no challenge. If you wanna give out better rewards you have to make the challenges more challening. People need more resistance in their games imo.

Anyway, I personally dont care if its to easy or to hard in this case, as the reward of a 1200 gold large chest is just lazy anyway.

The reward is lame, and it should be much better and unique. IMO, main point of community challenge is that people would show up for the advertized event and that majority (75%+) is actually able to complete it. As many noted, surviving on routine is a huge challenge for most of the players and requires all high level characters in a party. I think, the problem is not that challenges are too difficult but that people just don't show up in sufficient numbers. TBH, I cannot blame them as connectivity issues and netcode make it difficult to even start/join any MP game in peak hours and that is when most of the casual people are.

They need to adjust the goals for Xbox One / (and may be PC).  It's obvious PS4 has the largest player base.  There are many more PS4s out in the world than XBox Ones (Microsoft failed this generation).

Bioware, please adjust the goal targets accordingly.

PC was actually quite a good guess, it was a very close call.

Also, on XB1, it seems the counter failed somewhat.  Friday, after work I came home, played 4 matches, completed 3 without dying.  Saturday morning check: 1/6.  "Hmmm, perhaps system lag," I think to myself.  Hours later, with more completed without dying (more than 3 but got) 3/6.  More completions later on and it stayed at 3 most of Sunday.  It then magically bumped up to 6 and I got my chest which—was not worth the effort.

I wonder how many other XB1 users experienced ths, and if the community counter was problematic?

Anyhow, BW please have a look into this on your end.

Did you solo or play with others? Because every single person in the group needed to live for it to count towards your personal goal.

Maybe because this game is designed to be played on console...?

It's funny that some people think that if they spam MP 24/7 this will contribute to 125k challange.

Let's count that up:

one game takes about 20min (excluding joining lobby that sometimes takes 10mins, crashed games and ones that someone dies)

in perfect situation you are getting 4 contribution points to challange

48h = 2880min : 20 = 144 x 4 = 576.

So you contributed 144 points which is 0,1% of goal.

Do you really think that there will be 1000 people spamming this shiet just to get 5x white swords?

And whats up with the time of this challange? It's supposed to be weekend challange (2 days) but is seems it starts at around 1pm in friday and ends up 6am monday? It's done by now right? If not, it lasts around 60h? dabliu ti ef. (CET).

So you're mad because a game designed to be played on console has a higher player base on console?

And again, let's say I actually did 144 points. Obviously people were playing "this shiet" since, again, Playstation achieved their goals.

If a single game is taking you 20 min, you're doing it wrong. With a reliable pug (a keeper/elementalist is all that's really needed) I can run through perilous, while stopping at most treasure rooms, in abut 13 min. Routine is more like 8 min.

The biggest challenge for me is to be able to actually finish a game. Any game. Or at least to normally start a game and have reasonable lag. That is mostly true during peak hours though. I have a few friends who would also love to try DAMP but one of them cannot even start any game due to infinite loading screen and another plays for about 3-4 minutes and has a ctd. They both play single player normally without much problem.

You have the same issues I have and that I've been complaining for months now. Connectivity, Matchmaking, Region-Lock, isolation, no pugs, systematic black screen, you name it.
I am only able to play this game at all because I have a full list of friends on Origin, made of awesome people who, at least partially, play DAMP every day and night and are patient enough to give me a spot in their lobbies. If it weren't for them, I would have given up long ago.
I am always keen to add more friends (unfortunately at the cost of unfriending inactive ones) to keep the game rolling. It is the only way I can play DAMP.

Played with others.  That would do it then.

There is a small difference. You are in a remote location. I'm on East Coast which should be in the center of all the things. So, I would conclude that the issues are not very directly related to geographical location or internet connectivity. There are problems with matchmaking on the server side, there are problems with netcode. I like the game very much, it has a lot of good things in it but overall, it is just a poorly executed and sloppy decisions somewhere somehow. It seems that the game is coded for some perfect world where everything runs smoothly and users update their copies of windows every day and ISPs are as reliable as LANs. Maybe, it's EA or Origin problem or something else. Loot design and store are certanly EA-related problems.

I have a direct line fios connection (no modem) at 75/75 mbps with port forwarding and NAT open.  People were not finding my games nor was I being selected on migration. So after a lot of thought I decided to go into my router's firewall settings and uncheck "ignore ping request from WAN".  After I made that change people were flooding into my server like crazy.  I had to set it on private first just to get my friends in before other people.  I've started to become the host on migration also.

I never had a hosting problem and was able to host unobstructed from the very beginning. The problem is there only during peak hours.

FIOS is nice. I don't have FIOS in my local area. But my cable is pretty decent. I'm hosting ME3 MP regularly and mostly, people are quite happy.

Xbox1 may not of hit the numbers but it wasn't high enough to complain. Myself played all weekend and enjoyed just seeing how close the community could get. I really dont care about the chest, I just like something to aim for. Everyother weekend you just run games with a certain weapon. Here you had to keep from getting downed or save your teammates from getting downed.
change your prospective and you can still have a blast.

DAMP is already dying, which is a real shame. The community that has always been small is getting smaller with each passing day, mainly to severe connection issues, crashes and a very badly designed loot system that gives you absolutely no sense of progression at all.

This game had everything to be as successful as ME3MP, but unfortunately Bioware failed miserably.

They just dont get out new maps / modes / chars & loot fast enough. When they release the next DLC in 2 months nobody will play DAMP anymore. Bad calculation.

In my last victory pack I got my fourth Griffon bow.

I gave up on DA:I MP last week-end. Not fun enough. No skill required. Too bad, I have fond memories of my 1000 hours in ME3 MP.

We still still missed out on any reward. The number still was not achievable. That's not fun at all, it's big FU in the face of all people who contributed towards the goal.

You seriously need to chill. It's just a video game. Of all the stuff to be mad about, this seems like the bottom of the list for DAI.

I contributed quite a bit on PC, as a matter of fact. Ain't feeling like I've been FU'd at all.

1st world problems.  You didn't get a victory chest.  Its a game.  At least you are not starving to death or dying from some kind of hideous disease.

I think it would be a bigger FU if they just started handed out top unique gear to everybody. Seriously just give people 6,000 gold and wish them luck, like scratch off tickets.

Or for the babies, get X amount of gold if you participate, it increases to Y amount if the community succeeds.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if they did calculate it based on the previous weekends participation and we just lost so many players that we weren't able to complete it anymore.
