I am trying to do Leliana's quest "Under Her Skin" but when I try to enter Vicinius' house my XB1 crashes to the home screen. I have tried hard resetting my console but the problem continues. Has anyone encountered this problem, if so have you found a work around?

It's the latest patch - (Patch 4) - that is causing this; it's the only logical explanation.
I have done the quest before on a different character and before the patch (around xmas time actually) and I did not have any issues.
Now with the new patch and from what I saw on the technical forum, a ton of other folks are reporting the same issue and all the reports were posted this month of February, just after the release of the latest patch.
There is no quick fix or anything that can be done from what I can see and I have tried all sorts of things: Reboot the Xbox1 and clear persistent storage, changing the resolution (because I thought it was maybe an issue with the cut-scene that tries to kick-off just before the game crashes back to Home), loading a different saved game (and I don't overwrite a game, each saved game is a fresh saved game), going to Val Royeaux alone without any companions.
The only suggestion I have at the moment is not to side with the Templars, but with the mages instead, in order to get Cullen's quest.
That sucks for those who would like to side with the Templars, but what else can you do?
"Under her Skin" is tied in with the main quest-line from what I read (I haven't beaten the game yet lol) and without completing it, well...your stuck I suppose.
Here is to hoping that Bioware is going to address this issue in their next patch, whenever that may be (hopefully in a few weeks).

You can complete the game with out doing Under her skin, so it sucks, but doesn't brake the main quest line.

Thank you for enlightening me on that matter, I wasn't aware since I have yet to finish the game.
Well hopefully patch 5 will fix this issue.

Ugh. Yep, me too. I've never sided with the Templars before, so this is my first time. Thankfully, it sounds like it's optional, but still. I'd like to see this quest. I have no idea what happens in this storyline.
Is there point by which I should do it in order for it to make sense. For example:

Yes, you do need to complete it before the Arbor Wilds. It basically is the replacement for Samson's quest.Ugh. Yep, me too. I've never sided with the Templars before, so this is my first time. Thanks. That gives me plenty of time, since I'm only level 14 and haven't even gotten into Crestwood yet.

So it's not just me. any idea when they plan to do the fifth patch? because I sided with the Templars before and didn't have this problem, but I really don't want to leave this particular quest line undone. if it will only be a few weeks before the next patch I have other games I could concentrate on, but if it'll be longer, I may just have to go ahead and deal with it. which would make me sad. *pout*

I think the patch (Patch 5) they are working on or I suppose rather "testing" at the moment with select PC players from the community, will likely be done and out in 2-3 weeks, if I was to give it a guess.
You can always just wait with playing your current character, create a different one for another play-through and side with the mages.
That's what I am doing at the moment, just playing my characters with whom I sided with the mages, until the patch is out.

I may do that, or switch to a game I haven't finished yet for a while. but thanks for the info. glad to know the wait might not be too long. I suppose I could just go finish some of the open world areas too. I haven't done much of the exploring yet this playthrough.

Yeah I had this problem too, it was pretty frustrating. I'm hoping it will be fixed before I feel like starting my next play-through.

Yep, same issue. Forces me back to the xbox one homescreen.
I've been playing a lot of multiplayer in the meantime. It's way more fun than I expected.

Yep. I've tried three times to complete this quest, and got a crash each time.
Ser Barris is also missing despite his survival because I got the bug listed below:

What BS.

UGH. I didn't even know that this was a bug too. This is my first time doing the templar quest series, so I didn't know that Barris was supposed to have more of a role to play beyond promoting him.
So that's now three questlines that are currently bugged for me in my various playthroughs: Calpernia's, Sutherland's, and Barris'. And this is after having my canon playthrough bug on the Dorian questline and having to wait around for a few weeks for it get patched before I could continue.
