I played it for the 360.

Honestly Its three years to late.I love BFs gameplay and mechanics but, the series is running stale for me pretty hard(no pun intended).

After like twenty minutes.i was bored and didn't like that concept that much to buy it.so i will pass on this game for sure

Nope.

Not at all interested in Cops&Robbers: Shoot-Out - The Game ... if I want to play a shooter, I'll stick to military themes, at least soldiers actually do have a mandate to kill on sight. But cops going in guns blazing as the primary means of dealing with criminals is simply not conform with how cops should operate. The police is a life-saving institution, not a life-taking one. Though I guess where the developers are from, that line is currently blurring.

Besides, I already have Bf4, so I'd really only get a skin-change and a couple new game modes for paying full AAA price. I'll rather hold on to that and see how the upcoming SW: Battlefront is like.

Sounds like real life cops to me.  ;)

Like I said, the line is currently blurring where the game developer is from.

But enough of that, I don't want to get this topic locked for getting political. Suffice it to say that cops going in guns blazing with the specific intent to kill the robbers, just like any other shooter plays like, is NOT representative of what police does and I will not deign that with my money.

I do believe that the developers implemented non lethal ways you can take down your enemies.

I do believe that the developers implemented non lethal ways you can take down your enemies.

They have, Taser and melee takedowns (only if you use a potentionally non-lethal melee weapon though), but that requires getting really close. It would be basically the same as knifing someone in previous Battlefield titles.

For reference, in Bf4 I have 36809 kills total. Out of those, I have only 626 knife kills. If I converted that into non-lethal takedowns, that's 1.7% non-lethal takedowns for all my scored kills in the game and I do go for the knife when I am presented the opportunity, so it's not like I am avoided using it.

The Taser has a very, very short range, but let's say I just equate that with all my sidearm kills in Bf4 (2554 across all pistols), that's 7%. Compined with the melee takedowns, I would have a total of 8.7% non-lethal takedowns. The rest would be kills. Cops don't kill nine out of ten criminals. Or conversely only incarcerate one out of ten criminals.

And this is what the situation would be in MP (and this game is primarily MP focused). We'd have thousands of players racking up tens of thousands of kills each, out of which only a scant few would be non-lethal.

This is not representative of what the police does at all. If this were the state of policing actions, we'd be in a situation where a government would be declaring martial law and send its armies to deal with a threat that would warrant such a reaction from the police, or send its armies to deal with the police itself!

I'm just surprised the media is not blowing this game up

They are still occupied with GTA V.

That aside, I am fully aware that the whole cops vs robbers theme is just that, a theme. Switch it to a military theme and you have Bf4 with different game modes. It's not like the cops and criminals thing is integral to the identity of the game, it's a first person shooter, the only difference is that the enemies and allies have a non-military skin.

In that regard, my apprehensions with Hardline are positively petty, I have no illusions about that, but I personally prefer to draw the line somewhere. Not out of respect for the police, but simply to prevent myself from desensitizing to such things.

Played it on ps4, not impressed tbh, if im honest im getting tired of the whole modern day shooter, there just to many of them, only one im looking forward to is The Division, i feel BF could do better with revisiting the world war era and doing something like a remake of BF 1942 or even Vietnam, but yeah id rather stay on BF4 an so would all my m8's who have tried the beta

Not impressed with it, like at all.

They had the chance to do something different and cool with the game, but they just made bf4 with new maps and skins.

I can't even suspend disbelief with how silly this game is. Hordes of cops and "gangstas" running around killing each other in city streets? Really? Where are the thugs getting all this hi tech **** from? A street gang with helicopters? Such a highly armed and organized criminal organization in the open like that is an existential threat to ANY government that would be met with military force.

Also where are all the civilians? Did they magically disappear knowing the criminals were coming?

What surprises me more is how much grenades and automatic weapons both sides posses. It might have been more interesting if there was some form of escalation (starting with handguns only then heavier weapons, so on so forth).

Also, is it just me? Or pulling in tonnes of choppers, RPGs, grenades, body armor, machineguns, and explosives to rob a couple of hundred k's seems a bit weird.

This just makes me that much more worried about the Star Wars Battlefront game they are making. I have extremely low expectations for it at this point.

At least with the new Battlefront, the developer doesn't have to pull stupid "we all loved playing cops and robbers as children, so now as man-children, let's play cops and robbers .... WITH GUNZ!" to get unique gameplay going.

Games are game. They don't have to be realistic. Criminals aren't flying helicopters around shooting rocket launchers at crowds of people or running over hundreds of people in a day in America but if you go by GTA then that's a every day occurrence. Didn't stop people from enjoying the game though even though its wholly unrealistic in both sandbox content and story missions.

I could go into greater depths as to why I think as I do and that I am wholly aware about what this game is compared to any other shooter games, but I don't see the reason why I'd have to.

Suffice it to say, don't like the game, not gonna buy. Gonna watch however as this game's stability is going to be the benchmark that will determine if I am going to buy the new Battlefront or not, because I'm tired of buying broken games and so far every Frostbite 3 game I know about is an unstable/buggy mess and I am inclined to believe it's the engine and not all those developers being incompetent.
