In few words: if you are going to make a story DLC then make blood magic specialisation available.

  • there is no lore reason preventing it
  • blood magic is red, gorey and looks better than purple(unless we talk about the robes but we do not talk about them)
  • blood magic is DA
  • without blood magic there is no DA
  • DA

Yes. The game is missing it. The most beautiful of all specialisations is missing. Enhanced graphics would show it in its full coagulated glory

  • without blood magic there is no DA

It is crude but highly accurate.

You're the head of the Inquisition, the movenment that eradicates everything that isn't normal and prings peace to the Chantry World. How in the Seven hells you're supposed to have blood mages in your Inquisition, if those are evil Chantry purges on sight?

It is not my intention to appear snarky but the answer is simple: head of the Inquisition. arguments may start from: 'who are you to question actions of the Herald?' through 'peasants won't see a difference. keep it at bay where someone can tell a difference' to 'blood control those who happened to see it'.

The darkest place is under the candlestick.

We're the most incompetent and dependent head of the Inquisition like, uh, ever. So the answer to all of your claims is simple: no. It's breaking the already broken plot even more.

Sorry, I'm unable to see how it is breaking the broken plot. Blood magic fits just right in. It makes things even tastier. There could be a dialogue about being a blood mage. In reality, everything can be dismissed as 'don't you dare to presume that you can speak freely about yadda yadda blah blah Herald yadda yadda Andraste yadda'. Anyway, what kind of mage does not play with blood magic! It is like having a bread and refusing cheese!

There are multiple lore reasons preventing it.

Except that its been a part of te mage arsenal for a long, long time?  Even Dorian, Tevinter admits its pacticed in secret by all Tevinter magisters.. But Nocromancy is ok? A school that just seems to appear in the mage arsenal? My Mage was a Nocromancer, and everyone frowned upon it... But, means to justify the end...

My Inquisitor stood against the chantry, and stated as such throughout my entire playthrough.. I dont beleive, im not a herald, etc.. And again.. Dorian, and Necromancy...Blood magic is one of the oldest, most well known aspects of DA magic!

lol... Lore...

You're a GOOD POPCORN HERO, leading a GOOD POPCORN FACTION. How does blood magic fit in this?

My warden used Avernus' research but was not a specialist in blood magic, (Aside from using blood magic to increase mana) I was contemplating making Hawke one as well but too much effort.

I completely agree with why they did not include blood magic. But I'm not okay with them picking and choosing what spells are okay.. NECROMANCER INQUISITOR? Why did they even..

I get that Dorian comes from Tevinter and they needed someone to fill that role for dark magic.. If you really want Inquisitor to be a model, you don't raise the dead and make them fight their friends.

... I would have loved to be a priesty type mage with spiritual damage in a positive form. Cleansing demons and templars, maybe a templar mage.. NO and not the Knight-Enchanter because that's to me an arcane warrior, an elvish magic, just renamed..

The problem with my suggestion is that I don't know how viable that is with the lore.

It fits just right just because it is still Dragon Age and blood magic is most probably tied to the first recorded conflict, ok second one(let's skip the Sun). It is the drama itself, at least for 10 seasons and 3 spinoffs. Your enemies are sort of using it - why not match their power! In fact, great many things are connected with it. But yes, keeping it in few words: because it is DA

It is not like he was cutting his wrist while sitting on the templar's lap. Also Inquisitor wields a completely different kind of power, political that is.

You are not supposed to be a role model. You make choices, you decide who you want to be.

I chose every option the game allowed to state specifically, that My Inquisitor did not believe in Andraste, Did not thnk he was a "Herald", and every chance he got to say he does nto believe in the Maker.. The options are there..Im not a religious person in real life, and played my Mage as such.. Everey NPC, and Advisor despised my chice to be a Necromancer, yet i was..

I played with peoples souls, and raised the dead.. Its a ghastly thing, Necromancy.. Yet i was able to be it, as "Head of thee Inquisition".. Not to mention, theres never been any Necromancy in Dragon Age before.. Yet there has been Spirit Healers, and Blood Mages... Because, ya know.. Lore, and all....

Bottom line.. Another stupid decision in this entry of "Dragon Age".. If you can call it that...

I would agree with that statement, but to a point. You are outlawing blood magic and even condemning the grey wardens for doing such. Would it make sense for you, the inquisitor, head of a paramilitary organization that restores order, to use magic that your organization condemns?

'for only I'm capable to wield such power safely. blessed be thy name oh my oh Andraste' and 1003 other cheesy lines that would explain it.

To this i can kindve agree.. Though the Warden role was very small in the overall.. Other than Taking back that fortress, and the 3 following pathetic War Table missions where they died out, i wouldnt even know.. Either way.. It never stopped the Protagonist from using it in past games.. That is the only part of this game i even recall Blood Magic.. Wardens turning Wardens into Demons.. Sure is a big part of Dragon Age to not see more Blood Magic.. I usually like to play different roles when i play DA.. Though they really only allow for "the good guy" in this one..
