Are the spell tooltips supposed to reflect upgrades?

I've just been watching one of kinetic's YouTube videos and noticed that his immolate on his inferno necromancer build reflects the Wildfire upgrade... And I'd swear mine does not, the same goes for Chain Lightning. It never occurred to me actually test that they're working (I'm pretty sure the CL upgrade is working at least) but does anyone see the upgrades reflected on the tooltip?

Are you sure they're not modifiers from equipment? I think cooldown reduction and maybe some of the ability ring effects do get reflected in the ability screen, but I don't believe the upgrades themselves ever change anything.

He did have a mana cost reduction masterwork running, but that doesn't explain his damage/burning time upgrades. Check out the video below around the 3:00 mark.

Upgrades are indeed reflected in the tooltip for the main ability. However after first purchasing an upgrade you need to back out of the character menu and then go back in before the tooltip will update.

That's.... Weird.... Just fired up my rig and had a look in game, and immolate's tooltip is correctly showing the wildfire upgrade. But Chain Lightning doesn't show the Arcing Surge upgrade (although that is definitely working).

Not all changes made by an ability upgrade are always updated in the base ability tooltip. For the most part, only changes to weapon damage multipliers, cooldown, and mana/stamina cost are updated.

Things like proccing new effects or conditional damage bonuses are almost never updated.
