This is somewhat off-topic and more Bioware related than Mass Effect related, but Bioware has cancelled the upcoming Shadow Realms game.
I'd post a link, but for some reason the forum won't let me post links or paste anything into the reply window.

This wasn't a game that was on my radar at all, I just happened to stumble onto the news on another site and figured I'd post it for anyone who was interested.
I don't know why I can't post links though.
Guess 'Evolve' was just too much competition. Personally....I feel this was a good move. Better to concentrate resources on their new IP, ME4 and Inquisition DLC rather than launch this 4 v 1 game. Especially since a full on MP game like this isn't something Bioware's done before.
That said....keep the world building in the back of the pocket....could be useful later.
This is actually the first time I've even heard of this game
Which is another reason it was cancelled

I was mildly intrigued when I first got wind of BioWare making a new IP, but then when I found out that it was PC-only, my interest waned, and when it turned out to be an online co-op game, it evaporated completely. Good riddance.

I felt the same, until I read what shinobi said about the IP's concept being rebooted:
Before Kotaku reported on the game last month, I was told late last year that it'd been completely rebooted from the online F2P idea that it was into a traditional Bioware RPG, single player, etc coming in 2017 and coming to PS4/XBO as well, no longer PC only. Hence why I was so excited.
Maybe they just decided that 4 RPG franchises was one too many.
RIP

I thought this was the new IP.
The new IP is coming out of Edmonton. This was out of Austin.
"Shadow Realms cancelled"
Seriously laughed out loud at this ...
I actually signed up for the beta for this game, because it sounded interesting. But I am very excited to hear about this KOTOR game! Unless it's an expansion to the MMO, then I'm less excited
I'll let Javik handle this.
Javik: "Good. Now throw it out the airlock and work on the Next Mass Effect."
Yeah I'd signed up for the beta also, was hoping for something similar to me3 MP but i'm guessing Evolve beat them to it among other reasons. At least it frees up people for other Bioware projects. Does this mean they still have another unannounced IP?
Not a game concept i had any interest in whatsoever, so i won't be shedding any tears.
Meh. Wasn't even a blip on my radar.
How about a squad-based single player reboot of Shattered Steel? I would buy it.
My thoughts:
1) The 4v1 and online co-op is feeling a bit overdone. Evolve, Fable Legends, The Division, Rainbow Six: Siege, Battleborn, Overwatch, etc...it feels just like a trend.
2) The episodic thing is feeling overdone, too. Telltale is just milking blood from the utters and other devs are trying to get into it (e.g. Capcom and Resident Evil Revelations 2).
So even though Bioware probably developed this independently of all these other games, they probably saw the writing on the wall and felt like this game would just drown in the Sea of Trend. Ignored or discarded because "we already have a game like that".
Honestly I am not interested at all in the whole coop thing, especially when the games have been pouring out of various developers. The market is saturated already and squeezing another one in would probably require enough marketing funds to sink a battleship. And that money and people could be better used elsewhere.
Why is TOR still alive?
Why is TOR still alive?
They are probably still trying to turn a profit after the gigantic investment they made.
I stopped subbing years back but pop into f2p once in a while, server population is surprisingly good and looking at all the crazy costumes, it seems like people spend $$ on the cash shop.
