I can't sell them. Why not?

They can no longer be sold, though they will take up inventory space until you turn them in (you may be able to destroy them as well).

I imagine BioWare heard the complaints of those who sold them accidentally because of the indiscriminate Sell All feature.

Oh wow, I was wondering why I wasn't seeing any in the Valuables section, and why my inventory was so full.

It was their solution to the "Sell All" problem.

The correct solution to that problem was not to be an idiot.

Yeah no patch notes, but this is how it works now. People for some reason were complaining about accidentally selling them.

Well, there was no way to use "sell all" without first removing the research items from your inventory somehow. There was an issue there to be repaired.

I still visit the research table first, just in case.

I didn't use Sell All, because it seemed reckless.  I wasn't ever likely to confident that I had exhaustive knowledge of my inventory, and going through one at a time to acquire that exhaustive knowledge was more work that just selling them one at a time.

And this change hasn't fixed that problem.  I still don't use Sell All, because it's still reckless.

Was that the idiot that designed the UI or the idiot using it?

Idiot using it. It was not the best design, but I never ran into any trouble with it.

Using it.

I don't even like having categories. I'd rather the choice of whether to sell something be meaningful, rather than a complete no brainer. I'd like quest items to be sellable.

90% of the time research items are at the bottom, i never once hit a "sell all " button, now they've even changed that, this is getting funnier than any network sitcom, geeez no wonder EA thinks their games are to hard, people can't even work the inventory

I'm most annoyed that they didn't document the change in patch notes. What else have they changed and not told us? How are we supposed to make informed decisions about whether to patch without knowing what the patches contain?

Especially since it's no longer possible to rollback to an earlier version. Since the decision to patch is irreversible, we damn well better be able to know what's in there before doing it (not weeks later).

There are at least a few things that aren't documented that we know about.

How are we supposed to make informed decisions about whether to patch without knowing what the patches contain?

You're not supposed to do that.

It's not intended to be your choice to update.

The solution to this should havehave been to give them their own category.

C'est la vie.

It was a smart decision removing it from valuables. Now you can confidently sell all knowing that all the stuff in there is useless.

It's commonly referred to as idiot proofing. You know same as putting a sign on the visor of a semi truck telling you what order to shift gears in and, not to engage the differential while moving at over 35 mph. Never mind that if you are driving that truck, you either went to to school to learn to drive it properly or, you have been driving so long that you didn't have to to go school to get your CDL and thus, learned all of this years ago, perhaps the hard way - before trucks has such signs.

Same thing with the "caution contents may be hot" on disposable coffee cups from convenience stores and to go places - well DUH, you might have ordered a hot beverage and, the server just might have put what you ordered in that cup but, of course you are too much of an idiot to figure that out for yourself. *shakes head* What is the world coming to?

It was a bad ui move to put them in valuables in the first place (which should have kept the DA2 name of junk)

No. If that's the case, then I don't think the category should exist.
