Hi i've been pretty bummed the past two DA games have lacked this particular warrior sub class. My main in DAO used it since I don't like the play style of a tank nor do I like being as slow as a two handed weapon user. This really bothers me since I still see NPCs in the world that either just use one sword or two themselves.

Is there anyway we might see a return to this in the future? Because i'd hate if I got my warden back in the future, to have to be forced to use a shield or wield a weapon bigger than my Elf Warden. Really though it makes no sense when using an elf and I hate to be relegated to a rogue or mage role. The skill tree in DAO was pretty epic for it, especially since you could use two long swords once you got the right skill level up. Elves don't really seem like the type to run around with a shield the way it's used in DA2 and DAI, but two sword seems like a skill that should be added back in. Maybe in a dlc or patch? I know i'd enjoy the combat a hell of a lot more if so.

Really though i've been avoiding the warrior class in DAI pretty much because of this.

Anyone else miss this dual wield warrior too?

I think it is predominantly a behavior issue in the modeling and most need an overhaul.

Yeah I don't get why it's gone. It made so much sense with elves in particular!

Swinging two swords looked cool. Marauders do it in swtor, I don't know why the newer dragon ages are more restrictive.

I also don't know why rogues are the ones with the knowledge to dual wield. Rogues are supposed to be street fighters. Dual wielding is a very advanced martial discipline. Rogues should have one dagger, not two.

Dual wielding daggers are fine, they just shouldn't use swords. I feel they cut it, because it might be "too similar". sigh

My King Cousland is also a dual weapon warrior. But I gave him some Two-Handed skills as well. Still, they should bring back DWW. They could even apply some of the W&S skills to it. Like Payback Strike could be the same move as Cripple from Origins. Lunge and Slash could be Flurry. Spinning Blades and Whirlwind are already the same, mostly. So the moves are mostly all there already. It just requires an extra skill tree.

agreed! dual wield warrior was one of my favorites back in origins, hate how limited playstyles and abilities have become since then.

No, it really isn't - "dual wielding" with daggers is very common. As such, it makes more sense for duelists to dual wield a sword and a dagger than warriors more used to fighting in shieldwall formation.

Maybe in a dlc or patch?

They removed it after DA:O (along with warrior achers), so there is no way this is going to happen.

Yes, dww.

Needs to be a different fighting style than dual daggers though. Plz don't use the same animations.

You don't have to tell me - rapier+dagger is a traditional thing in Spain. I'm no expert but it's common knowledge that type of combat is more advanced than 1 sword or sword+buckler.

I think they removed it in order to more differentiate the warrior and rogue classes, they after all shared the same ability school in DAO and used the same weapons. I would very much like to see it back, I loved it in BG2, DAO, Skyrim, SWTOR and basically in every game such a thing was allowed.

But it would need some serious tweaking. Firstly it would have to feel different from rogues (different abilities, different play-style) and I would not allow warriors to use daggers, they should be specific to rogues (it was pretty lame that the best off-hand wpn in DAO:A for all dual wielders was a dagger and it didn't even matter what build or stats was one going for, the wpn was just that good). And secondly it would have to be toned down a bit. While I loved that spec, in DAO and especially DAO:A it was way too imbalanced, often to a point it was not even funny anymore (like Spirit Warrior dual wield "tanking" everything with his 100% chance to dodge, etc).

My canon Warden is a DWW: Starfang + Duncan's Sword = Awesome

I started playing Dragon Age because I prefer a dual weapons style. But having it given to rogues was okay. I just wish knight enchanters and arcane warriors could use it with enchanted batons.

Thing is if they just left rogues with the daggers and let warriors use short and long swords it would be fine. Bioware keeps limiting the player with each game release. :/ I swear if we get our wardens back and he's stuck with a sword and shield i'm not buying the new game. It's not my class and I don't want it.

My canon Warden is an Elven DW warrior and I've been missing that class since then. I don't like the tanking role and the 2H warrior is sooo slow. Now I'm stuck with rogues or mages. I don't know what I'd choose if the warden was a playable character again. I don't picture her wielding a huge sword or a shield.

I suppose BioWare felt that the ability trees are easier to handle with less options and more focused paths.

Just remove the lame restrictions. We are basically down to just 5 different characters now. We have no real say when it comes to creating a character of our own anymore.

The whole concept behind the warrior in DA:O, I thought, was that the warrior could adapt to multiple situations in battle and be diverse. My warrior could dual wield for DPS and off-tank, he could tank with 2H, he could turtle with W&S, he could range with archery, he could root, he could debuff, etc. While rogues were more focused and limited in battle, but excelled in surprise attacks and various tricks.

Bottom line, warrior = expert in warfare/battle.

True. I'm fine with them moving archery to rogues, kinda makes sense, but I hate losing the DW. It feels weird not to have it. Looks like they are trying to dumb down each class with two sub classes and two support sub classes. All classes are boring like that now.

It sucks, because I was hoping Cass would be dual weapon like she was in the anime.

Yeah, I miss that too, Spirit Warrior archer was hilarious. Better single target dps than basically anything else in the game.
