Why does EA make me jump through a bunch of hoops to redeem my codes on my Xbox version of Mass Effect 2?  I had to sign up for an account, sign up for some DLC on the PC, some on the 360, and reboot my game to get it all to work.

The whole reason I play on the 360 rather than the PC is so that I don't have to deal with crap like that.

Seriously, I pre-ordered your game.  I paid for it.  Why make me do a song and dance to play it?

Absolutely NOTHING is preventing you from playing the full game.  You are also not required to do any of the code stuff on the PC, all through the Xbox interface runs just fine.

You'll need to yack with EA's support in that case, they will fix you up (check thread in the 360 tech support forum) we don't have the tools to fix that here at BioWare.

While that may address the immediate answer for that fellow I believe the rest of us would like a full explination of how exactly to download this armor.  Is it as simple as redeeming the code on my xbox dashboard or do I need to do it through the means of my PC?  And if the PC/EA account is the path, please enlighten the rest of us as to how exactly to do it.

Thank you.

Email Address:

Xbox Gamertag(s): None

PSN Name(s): None

Can I edit the gamertag on the social forum or actually do the linking gamertag and ea account thing?

Ok I have redeemed my codes online like it said on the cards when I got the collectors edition. I did it on the Mass Effect site I have the proper emails and everything and it is not working. I have been wanting to play this game for the past three hours now and I am extremely unhappy. I have also been waiting on customer support for 30 minutes and have had my live chat request canceled on me. Some one please help me out here.

For the Record, I believe the way to do it is through the games pull down located at the top of your site.  Select Redeem codes and enter the code.  For the 360, it appears we just have to start the game or restart it and find the item in the game as suggested.  Only the PC players must actually download it.

If I am mistaken, I apologize and would like a further explination.  If not, I hope it helps others along the path.

When I try to link my Gamertag to my account it tells me "Sorry, that Xbox LIVE Gamertag has already been taken. Please try another one". I would like to access my account as I redeemed my codes using the website and not the console, as I was told I could do this. However it's becoming rather frustrating that I'm having to do all this.

Frankly I think this is the most ridiculous redeem system I have come across yet and I have to say, Game Stop's code card was just as silly. Seriously Bioware, next time an EA marketing rep opens their mouth about some goose chase to redeem a code, tell them that the people have spoken. Everyone else can make this easy except EA.

I basically have 3 downloads that are just sitting there and I cant get them without tech support.

Jesse, if you work for bioware, you are not accurately listening to your customers.

1.)  People are not able to download the terminus armor that was included as part of the pre-order.
2.)  It does not allow you to download on the console.
3.)  The instructions directs everybody, including xbox 360 users to go to the social.bioware website to crete an ea account.
4.)  When you do redeem the code on the bioware social website, the armor still does not download to your xbox 360 game.

Its stuff like this that is hurting Bioware's reputation and future sales, if you stubbornly refuse to even listen accurately to customer feedback, who are annoyed at your (Bioware's) process that is broke.

I've always supported Bioware, but am hesitant about buying future bioware products.
