A few things I would love to see in future games in regards to companions and romance.

 

1. Romance dialogue....gag. Why is it that every time you get into a romance with someone all the options turn to mush? It would be great if there were a couple different flirt options - sarcastic, sensitive, awkward, pervy!,  etc.

 

2. Companions can date each other. It would be pretty cool if your companions started hooking up with people. Ignore this....just realized it has happened.

 

3. Anyone else want a perverted protagonist? Can't I give people a pat in the butt after a conversation? More slutty characters? Hook up and move on? And why no brothel in DAI?

2 is already in DA:I. Iron Bull can hook up with Dorian, and Blackwall and Josie develop feelings for each other. In ME3, Tali and Garrus will get together if you don't romance either of them. So it's something Bioware has already been doing recently/

Really? I guess I missed those parts. There was some sexual banter between Dorian and Iron Bull when traveling but I didn't know it went past casual banter. And I never heard Blackwall and Josie talk about each other....and I did go through all conversation options with both (and had a good rating with both)

As for the suggestions, #1 seems pretty reasonable.  Would do wonders for RPing protagonists.  As for #3.... really?  First, that would tie into #1, and second, that's just..... WTF?

You have to listen to all of their banter.  Same goes for Fenris and Isabela, though it would be fun to see a scene with companions hooking up like in ME3.

As pointed out, this already has been happening the past few games. However I greatly wish it had not and that it will never happen again.

It would be good if we can have innuendo dialogue options. Whether they be hitting on another character, or just being suggestive in causal PC-LI conversation.

Not really sexism since OP never said anything about only patting women on the ass.  Pretty sure they meant just perving on companions in general.

Yes...that was meant for patting everyone. I am female playing as female, envisioning patting many in the butt after a conversation. But the butt pat is not gender restricted.

For 1, I doubt this will happen since the romance stories are a minor aspect of the game thus don't have that large of a budget. If they added more types of flirts, there would have to be less content in other parts of the romance to compensate. So I think what we have now is as good a compromise as will happen, where after getting involved in the romance you can respond in various ways. 

 

For 3, no.

Wow, really? I wonder why that didn't happen for me in the game where I didn't romance either of them? I have a lot of trouble seeing Fenris being down for a woman like Isabela. She seems too amoral and piratical for someone like him. I'd think he'd disapprove.

It's only mentioned in party banter between them.  Try looking it up on YT.

It only happens if you don't get involved with either of them. I'm not sure if flirting with them at all does it, but it definitely does if you sleep with one of them and then move one to Merrill or Anders after they bail on you.

I agree, it makes no sense. Especially since she is fine with letting Castillion start a slaving operation in exchange for a ship.

Then again, most of the couplings Bioware has done don't make any sense.

I wouldn't mind the ability to just randomly **** around with random NPCs like in SWtOR but I wouldn't want to be some kind of weirdo Chester-molester who gropes people. I mean if it's your LI sure I guess, but the option to molest random people...ew.

I did sleep with Isabela early on but it was just sex, i thought everyone was suppose to trial run her first..

There was a thing in DA2 where you could be put in a quasi-relationship with Isabela, where you can still romance someone else but Isabela still has banter about being with you. This may have happened to you and thus the dialogue for Fenris/Isabela never occurs.

1 - sure, sounds good. Its kinda sucky you have to play a specific character to complete parts of the romance because there's only one option most of the time.

3 - ew, no. I'd really prefer NOT to have the option to turn the PC into a massive creep.

Well, maybe not just sexism. Maybe also homophobia? Like, not just women being pat on the butt, maybe also homosexual PC patting his boyfriend on the butt too.

 

Anyway, I think if a character must pat another on the butt, it should be either an NPC who you aren't supposed to like whom is male, doing it to female character, or a female character like Sera - who isn't a lesbian - patting the PC on the butt, regardless of their gender. Something less likely to be looked down upon, while retaining the perversive character.
