Well, maybe not just sexism. Maybe also homophobia? Like, not just women being pat on the butt, maybe also homosexual PC patting his boyfriend on the butt too.

Anyway, I think if a character must pat another on the butt, it should be either an NPC who you aren't supposed to like whom is male, doing it to female character, or a female character like Sera - who isn't a lesbian - patting the PC on the butt, regardless of their gender. Something less likely to be looked down upon, while retaining the perversive character.

Or we could all just keep out hands to ourselves unless someone invites us to do some butt touching.

OP already said that they meant for the ass-patting to be for everyone.  Not sure where you got homophobia from.

It's makes more sense with LIs, imo.  Happens in IB's romance, so having it in other romances wouldn't be a far stretch.  Well, obviously if it makes sense with the corresponding romance, of course.

Would this be the Mass Effect mechanism of "right click now to grab boob"?

...and again, as much as you should be able to act socially inappropriate as a character, that inclusion doesn't work as long as there are people who in real life believe this is a grey area where this isn't necessarily inappropriate at all (of which there are unfortunately a great number of people)...

1. It'd be nice to have different dialogues inside of romance one's, it'd increase RP opportunities.

3. I don't think I'd play with pervert.. I think you can already be quite player who flirts with many and maybe even beds couple? In DAO I played Warden like that, he had sex with Morrigan, Leliana and Zevran and finally married Anora. For some reason I didn't have threesome with Isabela and Leliana o.O Butt-patting in relationship would be okay as well though somehow game starts remind me of Sims 2 if that's included.

A few things I would love to see in future games in regards to companions and romance.

1. Romance dialogue....gag. Why is it that every time you get into a romance with someone all the options turn to mush? It would be great if there were a couple different flirt options - sarcastic, sensitive, awkward, pervy!,  etc.

2. Companions can date each other. It would be pretty cool if your companions started hooking up with people. Ignore this....just realized it has happened.

3. Anyone else want a perverted protagonist? Can't I give people a pat in the butt after a conversation? More slutty characters? Hook up and move on? And why no brothel in DAI?

1) Flirty protagonist seems good to me. I really liked doing that in DAO sometimes. Plus a few times with Isabela/Zevran/Tallis in DA2.

2) They've already started this with Fenris/Isabela and Bull/Dorian. Plus mutual feelings (that don't go anywhere) with Josephine/Blackwall and Bethany/Sebastian. Carver also had a crush on Merrill, don't know if that was mutual.

3) Only if they get to smack the protagonist in the head for it.

Yes.

Actually companions should be able to smack the protagonist if their approval is low, it's only fair.

Without the outcome of Cassandra decking the PC, this option would be for naught. I don't like the idea of playing any kind of creepster in the least, but if it were to exist, it should come with some lasting consequences, so that the companions are not reduced to sponges for your abuse.

There ought to be a "Push Sera out window" option when she takes a swing at you.

Wow, really? I wonder why that didn't happen for me in the game where I didn't romance either of them? I have a lot of trouble seeing Fenris being down for a woman like Isabela. She seems too amoral and piratical for someone like him. I'd think he'd disapprove.

They don't fall in love or anything. It's just sex, probably of the hate variety.

Number 3 should be a beyond-flirting separate option included in all sorts of npcs, in every possible situation. A constant presence on the dialogue wheel. Trying to cheat your way out of the pride demon's machinations? Trying to convince that golem to work for you? Having an audience with the king? Debriefing your companions? *smack* *smack* *smack* *smack*

Ha, that username!

Is that you, Sandal? When you'd learn to speak?

Snip

And why no brothel in DAI?

Maybe game designer guy said "this is a MP console RPG with intense combat. There is no time for slutty thinking!".

Wait!

Designer guy missed out on something. This game has micro transactions .. Designer guy had the opportunity to make EA more money by including payment options for certain services located in the R&R areas....

Yes...that was meant for patting everyone. I am female playing as female, envisioning patting many in the butt after a conversation. But the butt pat is not gender restricted.

You imagine yourself patting people "in" the butt after talking with them?
I hope that WASNT a typo lol

I stood by my stern choice "Don't you EVER do that again!" And she looked down all sad and disappointed.

2. Bioware's had party members hooking up since BG2. Aeire and Haer'Dalis, anyone? Even Edwin tried to get with Viconia.
I think it adds more depth to the characters, for sure.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing more options in terms of flirting. Or perhaps getting rid of the "flirt" dialog all together (a la Dragon Age Origins where you could just pick whatever dialog felt the flirtiest/right for your character).

There's definitely some lines that make me laugh because they sound so out of character for the person I'm trying to role play. I'd be interested to see if this is something they can expand upon in the future.
