The crashing issue is incredibly annoying but I'm not having the other issues. I guess I'm lucky? Heh. I still absolutely (♡˙︶˙♡)love the game so unfortunately I won't be joining the "hate BioWare" bandwagon.
I'm glad you enjoy the game.

Then I guess he [Mark Darrah] ruined Origins, where he was executive producer, as well as Dawn of the Seeker (The anime backstory for Cassandra.) As for DA2, he was director and executive producer, but please bare in mind that DA2 had literally less than one year of development time. If you don't believe me, look at the release dates for Awakening and DA2. They are less than a year apart.
Look, it's okay to be frustrated and even pissed off to a degree. I was about some of the bugs, and I'm not going to dismiss anyone's difficulties they've had running/playing DA:I. Still, perhaps a bit of perspective is needed. If you really want and need a scapegoat that badly, try here:

Only one of those is a real accomplishment, and in retort I'd say "George Lucas"
Also, DA2 may have been rushed and whatnot, that doesn't make it a good game, it is understandable why its bad in some ways (not so much others) but it does not excuse it entirely

I didn't think DA2 was a bad game, but to each their own. I don't think that Mark Darrah "ruined" Dragon Age, despite some of the issues this game certainly has. I still have the link bookmarked to the thread I created about a year ago that had about a 1/2 dozen mods that were fixes for bugged Awakening quests. Again, while I'm not dismissing the issues that this game definitely has, I don't have to deal with nearly as many bugs in Inquisition as I did in the mess that was Awakening.
Thanks to some eye issues, I've had to back off of gaming on my PC. In fact, I've barely been on the computer at all for about two weeks. Maybe that's why I'm not as upset as I was a month ago. Some distance and time have helped. I hope everyone's issues get resolved soon. ![]()

I really really really really hate to invoke the spirit of /v/ but they occasionally have a point. Its one thing to enjoy a game, its another for the game to be objectively good. DA2 can be an enjoyable game for people, but there are objectively bad parts of the game. Blaming Mr. Darrah is largely pointless I imagine, I doubt he exercises the level of control as we saw with say Casey Hudson in ME3
Also, I'm gonna need more than a few months distance to work out my issues, but I don't think BioWare is up for paying a therapist
I'm glad that some annoying issues in BioWare games aren't severe enough for me to actively hate the company and all who work there. I'm glad that I can immerse myself in their worlds and stories and share my enthusiasm with others. I'm glad I'm not a miserable person.
Just avoid your PC all together, if you can. That's what I did, and used my kindle to chat on Skype with my hubby instead of being tied to my desk. There's been so much frustration over this game, that I just closed BSN tabs. I took a break and played my PSP, since it was easier on my eyes. The story was bad fanfiction (FFIV: The After Years,) but it was fun nonetheless.
Other than trying to remain polite, that's my suggestion: Play other games for now, and keep your voices heard. It helped me, and I hope it can help others. ![]()

I don't think binging anime and netflix counts >.>
Bioware/EA should not have released this beta with all its flaws, bugs and glitches. They knew about all the crap that is now bugging a big lot of the DA-gaming community. So do not even try to convince me they are doing a great job on fixing things. They should have done that great job BEFORE releasing it. I still feel like being robbed from around $ 85,-.
Next time i buy something from Bioware it's going to be second hand (whatever that may be). From second hand it can be expected that it may have flaws. If i buy something new i don't want it to be as buggy and flawed as DA:I was and still is.
PERIOD!
And to stay on-topic: I agree with OP. I am self employed in small construction business and if i deliver a kitchen/bathroom or whatever 'product' the similar way Bioware does now, i would have been out of jobs a long time ago. No matter how many times i will return to a customer to fix things i did wrong, i'll lose respect and credibility after the first, but surely after the second time i need to go back. And yes, i should be ashamed of myself then.
Do your job right, or go do something else.

Bioware should give all owners of the PC version of DAI an (in game) throne made from PC towers.
Unfortunately for the consumers, what happens is that they now develop for consoles, and in this case, they are based on AMD graphics cards, which then are ported over to PC. They develop for console, and then hand pc the product. They assume everything will work out until launch day, lots of problems (QA team probably warned them of these problems) and the amount of errors they found were 'acceptable' to EA.
Modding would have helped alleviate the errors we now have but the tools modders currently have for DAI are lacking from what I saw.
Either they are capable to handle the "CHALLENGE" to satisfy the customers or they should stop making games ...
I don't care what the reason is behind all the bugs and hardware related problems that can and will occur! Because we have too many hardware differences as it is already. There is not enough unification and standardisation in the PC market for preventing these issues. And even between consoles alone (this time around we have four!) certain hardware and software differences will spit in our soup. So I know bugs cannot be fully evaded ... But they should put much more effort into polishing the titles and fixing problems in general these days! Well I know (or at least hope) that Bioare will be doing that anyway. But from the lack of communication and the staggering number of bug-riddled AAA-releases in 2014 across the industry ... I don't get the feeling that the big publishers give a damn !!! And that is what worries me ... The developers know their way around this stuff and the fans have always worked with the devs to adress these problems. But the big publishers are getting even more agressive and money focused these days.
When you have these gargantuan budgets these days and these gargantuan projects ... wouldn't it make sense to make an equally gargantuan effort to fix the game after release? If they indeed did that ... I don't think they would hold back to tell us all about it.
So, to me, the focus of game production has shifted and the new focus aimes at the money not the product or the customers. I am worried the about the state Inquisition is in today because - even though I play on console - I want the PC folks to have even more fun than me! They bloody upgrade their machines for a couple of thousand bucks and should have a WORKING game - NO MATTER WHAT! If this is not the case ... the devs need to communicate what they are doing >>> No way around that! Some folks, like me, have waited for years to get their hands on DA3 and have preordered and since then have nothing but regret about preordering the game ... (Etc, etc, etc ... You get my point
)
In the end I believe it will take six month or more to even solve the majority of it. And I don't believe it to be "okay" to release a product that you, as a customer, have to put on a shelve for six month before you can play it. Especially if you preordered! There are a staggering amount of bugs in this game and many of them game-breaking for a lot of people. And on top of that there are a lot of other problems!
For example the UI on PC and console:
"When I cannot access my skills freely and are capped at eight at a time and have no weapon switching and the tac-cam is a useless clunky experience - there is something wrong with my console RPG!"
... to name just one thing!
So, yah ... they could communicate better!
And EAWare knows this!
Bioware should give all owners of the PC version of DAI an (in game) throne made from PC towers.
Wouldn't it be more fitting to have a throne made from dead consoles?

At somepoint they patched it. When the game came out you couldn't look up or down.. it was nauseating
This is a flat out lie.
The fact that you couldn't find you needed to press right mouse button to look around is... is.. dayumn. Did you even look in the controls? Or did you just try them out blindly and then said: f' it.
The state in which the PC version was released to public, and the issues that remain (and are also unaddressed)
It wasn't just the PC version. Xbox One was near unplayable.
More than just the bugs, the game feels totally incomplete. A soulless mess without the heart Bioware used to have.

No, the Doctors were still the heads of bioware when DA:O was made, so that ensured the quality of the first DA game. As for Dawn of the Seeker, well, it sucked monkey balls.

Yeah? And what about me? No problem with controls. No bugs at all. Still complain. Game is dumbed down and lost everything that made me happy. The only joy I have in DAI is one new thing, crafting. There is nothing barely resembling Dragon Age or Bioware in this abomination.
And its the same old song. Ive heard it all the way back even when Origins came out and people will be whining when DA4 comes out.
You are NOT happy because you did NOT get what you wanted. Its that simple. Please stop assuming you are speaking for everybody.
Oh and didn't you troll the forums before and blamed your friend on it?

Well....
Things just got heavy.
*Gets rum and popcorn out, waits*
You really should take a step back and realize what you are saying.
"I don't have that problem, don't complain about it at all."
Arrogance or sheer disrespect I just sigh every time you respond to some poor angry persons post with these responses that does NOTHING for the thread aside from derail. Maybe you should instead try asking if they have done X or Y or offer "I don't have this problem" and remove that "Don't complain about it at all" attitude when posting.
Im speaking the truth. I helped countless people get their game to work by private messaging. What I don't have patience for are stubborn lazy people who hate change and are unwilling to adapt.
