That would be hilarious.Spoiler: they didn't kill it. That's what the next Mass Effect will be.

Good riddance. I'm glad they are focusing on more content for Inquisition and the next Mass Effect game.

good riddance
at first I was excited (with the teasers and all) but when they announced it (a online co-op pc only game WTF?)
I was disappointed
so good thing they came to their senses and cancelled it
focus on good Singleplayer games Bioware!
Didn't stop them from making KOTOR into TOR and be PC only.

TOR is actually alright, really.
All in all though, I have a hard time feeling broken up about this. I'm sure it could have been OK, but as much as I liked the MP in ME3, I really don't need any more multiplayer Bioware games. They're just better at single player games, hands down.

Shadow Realms had good promotion but the unanimous" what?" Heard after seeing gameplay made it's future obvious
I frankly was no fan of it at all
This.
Trying anything in the MMO/MOBA/Multiplayer area atm is basicaly a pure suicide move.

EA has a history of stymying new IPs. No big lost here though.

First, this is like the third time we hear this news. Stick to the original Shadow realms topic.
Second, thread title is sensationalist BS. Next ME did not kill SR according to what we know. The project was deemed unfeasible after they already restructered it and the team is simply moving to other dev teams.

One question. So what?
It looked like a Hunter the Reconing ripoff to me.

An online action game?
I'm glad it got cancelled.
It's "DM character" mechanic actually sounded somewhat novel. But from the start, the list of things I found worrisome about the title was long.
Not surprised it's dead, especially considering it was "shelved indefinitely" in December, but it still not great to see any project with a novel concept get axed, even if it was for the best.

The industry needs new IPs. Shame this one is going to not see the light of day.
Yet.

I had no interest in playing the same game, again, different stroke for different folks, I guess. It's fine to work in old IPs, but something new after half a decade is never bad.
I wouldn't say something new is never bad. I'd have no interest if they put out a fps for instance, I had no interest in any of their cellphone apps or facebook games either. The action mmo that we knew almost nothing about was canceled, my reaction was "meh."

Yeah, from what little I knew of Shadow Realm it didn't seem all that interesting to me either.

I wish something would just kill Mass Effect and let it rest in peace instead of milking its poor corpse.

It's not milking until it gets to Assassins Creed or Call of Duty level...... or is that beating a dead horse....... or is that holding the corpse up and flailing the limbs around.

Good.
Bioware should stick to RPGs with character creators.

How do you define milking?

It sounds like ME4 is getting a solid development cycle, they've hired new talent, and are also making another run at stuff they tried in ME1 and didn't succeed at. Seems like a sincere effort.

Thank god not all of us feel that way. Personally I can't wait to get my hands on ME4, even though it will still be long time coming. I just hope they won't mess it up and that it will be worth the wait.
