Any quest boiled down like that sounds crap
"go kill Saren"
I laughed when I read this for some reason.

The fun part is that this works with almost every BioWare game!
"Go kill Saervok."
"Go kill Jon Irenicus. Then kill him again, in hell! Then, alas, you will be reduced to killing some boring chick nobody cares about."
"Go kill Darth Malak."
"Go kill GIANT STORY-DESTROYING SPOILER REDACTED."
... and so on.
(Maybe the reason people don't like the ME3 ending is that it's the only game this doesn't work for?)

This is true, my killing-quota was not at all met for ME3!!!

Technically it was
"Go kill the Reapers despite it being literally impossible"
Of course it ended up being
"Go kill the Reapers and all other AI life in the galaxy"
"Go assimilate with the Reapers and become a god"
"Go turn into genetic mush as a template for a synthesis of man and machine"
Starchild was responsible for the last 2 obviously
I laughed when I read this for some reason.
When I started to think about how crap really good games would be if we boiled down quests, I laughed myself. ![]()

Nice list
We could expand it out to more than just BioWare games
GTA 5 - "go make a middle aged man feel young again"
Hitman - "kill some people"
Skyrim - "go wander around and kill things"
Fallout 3 - "go find your Dad, then go find the guy that killed your Dad"
Fallout 3 - "go find your Dad, then go find the guy that killed your Dad"
I'm starting to see how people here hate DAI when they employ oversimplification to the nth degree.
That was obvious enough. Hopefully we're in Tevinter this time and no more annoying Fereldan.

I love Ferelden..but if the next game is situated in it I'm gonna have a B.F.

I loved Fereldan in the first 2 games but now it's overused. The Blight happened in Fereldan, DA2 main character was Fereldan and now the fade tear started in Fereldan. The series is about the world of Thedas, I think it's time we took a break from that one nation.

Don't worry.
Given the divergent events at the end of DAI, I'm fairly confident that we're done with Southern Thedas for quite a while.
Tevinter, Seheron, Anderfels, Rivain. I expect DA4 to be in one or more of those areas.
I'm already calling Dragon Age: Imperium as the next title. Somebody mark it down so I win fake internet points when it's announced.

That title....is fking awesome.
Although we'd have two DAI's ...

and yet most of them would also say that DA:I has been 'dumbed down'

I agree, I'd like to see more than just Fereldan. I've been dieing to see Rivain, it seems like such an interest place, with a mixture of different cultures and customs.

That's in keeping with their twitter desires of torturing the fanbase.
Anderfels.
This is where I think the game will take place.
I think I'll make a thread about this soon.
I'd like a game set in Alam, where we have to show up for the funeral of an important person, but then we go on an adventure to figure out why everyone's been taken over by darkness.
They could call it Alam Wake.
THe good news is though that the next game is somewhere I really want to go to given that outside of Ferelden and the Free Marches Tevinter and the Anderfels are my two favorite nations. For Lore reasons.

So then, for one game and all the acompaying DLC? ![]()

I would expect Rivain to be its own game ... perhaps with nearby Antiva and northern Free Marches or Nevarra.

Oh wow, BioWare's storytelling genius is used in famous movies too.
'Make the Death Star go boom'
'Kill the big shark not the little one'
'Dig a tunnel out of jail'
'Go meet Sally'
'Chuck the ring down a volcano'
So clever, it's a conspiracy among writers !

It depends on how serious/accurate the 'five game plan' is. I could easily see the last game involving some Thedas wide catastrophy, and thus any nation would be open to being a playable area.
Five game plan?
Five game plan?
I have heard references to DA being five games...granted not sure the validity of this theory but I rather think it cool given my fondness of B5/ Farscape, and even BSG to an extent.
