You can lol all you want but she saw right through Solas and Blackwall.

Her line about religious fanatics and what the actual existence of the Maker implies is also spot on.

yeah so what? three times she was "wise"

what about the other 90% where she is just stupid (especially with her view towards her own people)

After playing both the city elf and Dalish origin, I can't say that she's totally off base about the elves. She'd have a field day with Marethari's goofy little clan for sure.

The only thing I find really annoying about her is I have to run my translation protocols while listening to her lol

Though she is kind of fanatical herself in regards towards the "big people."

It's what you get for not preordering your own babelfish.

I dunno if fanatical is the word I'd use. Sure, if you allow her or dally long enough for her to take it upon herself to kill Pel Harmond, she pretty much goes monkeyshit, but the guy was pretty much harming people over a land squabble, and ultimately killing people over it. Can't say I'd sympathize with him myself.

I can, and do. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

All LOL'ing aside, is that all it takes? I used to babysit a lot. Young children are also occasionally insightful.

Still I was investigating the noble trying to come to a compromise. The fact that she can't restrain herself from killing a probable ally for the Inquisition, speaks to her extreme black and white views; Regardless of whether or not he deserved it.

Who said kids are not wise?

She rejects them on the ground that they are so  stuck up in their past that they don't see beyond their nose and this is stupid how?

Oh yes she is.

I understand where he's coming from. Sera may have good points about the Maker and the Dailish, but it's washed away by her overall immaturity. She doesn't articulate her self well and often sounds childish, which turns off a lot of players.

Yeah I understand this too, she also has not thought many things through, she is young, doesn't mean you can't see past all that.

She made me laugh when she argued with my Andrastian Inquisitor about faith.  Her parting line was something like "Well I'll be right here when the gods decide to finally show up.  Loony!"

In the amount of time I could write up an argument, you could simply watch the video I posted on the first page. That YouTuber says it all.

Children are only occasionally insightful. Anybody who's spent time around kids knows this. A kid might be able to observe that adults spend too much time working--not doing the things in life that make life matter. Then, that very same child will hit a sibling, or have an "accident" because he "didn't know" he had to go. ...Yeah, that's pretty much Sera. Observant, but not really aware of the meaning, and then the rest of the time she just does things, but is incapable of articulating her thoughts.

When she asks the inquisitor about his/her actions, and she disagrees, you're stupid. Yeah, she's a child.

It irritates me how quick she is to judge anyone else but she shuts down the conversation immediately if you begin to critique her own beliefs or actions in any way.  I don't like how she acts like that the fact that something isn't valuable to her (i.e. elven history and traditions) means that there's nothing beneficial that anyone else could get from it.  In the end, I think what annoys me most is her unwillingness or inability to try to look at the world without falling back on her own prejudices.

I don't think that the "I'm right and everyone who thinks differently is dumb" mentality is a good one to have.  I don't think that a person can afford the luxury of a simplistic mindset if they're intent on trying to right society's wrongs.

omg I never thought of her like that now it all makes sense
she is just an annoying brat thats why she constantly says soo many stupid things

that doesn't excuse anything but it explains a lot
and it also means that I made the right choice with my Inquisitor (when I told her to get lost)
there is no place for children in the inquisition

I didn't so much hate Sera, as she hated me because I didn't hate myself for being an elf.

I never told he to get lost, but I wasn't going to let her trashtalk an entire race or appologize for them as a whole in order to win her favor, just because she has a stick up her butt about it, so she never really got along with my Lavellan.

That's true, but I think I like Sera more because to me her views are basically harmless. She's basically just some street rat with a different point of view on the world. Vivienne on the other hand is actually someone with political influence and power, and she's pretty extremist in her views towards mages. I'm not gonna say I hate her, because it takes a lot from a character to get me to hate them (which is why I never understood the whole Ashley hate thing from Mass Effect). But I will say that Viv is someone I do not get along with.

Harmless enough to beat a man into a bloody pulp simply because he is a noble.

So I watched most of the video and, for the most part, I agree with his assessments.  I don't really think that Sera is a bad character though.  I think that she'd be an unlikable person if I were to meet her in real life, but I do think she's well written and interesting.

I just thought I should point out that I think she's a fine character, even if I wouldn't get along with her.

Because, stupid, punches down, baddies, os biscuit, really real, shite, stupid, punches down. Oh did I sound like Sera? well, there you have her entire dialog for the game and, the reason I detest and, will never recruit her again. ( did it once, never again.)

she's a child.

She's heavily opinionated.

And if the theories are true, there's a really good reason why is she like that.

I wouldn't dismiss her so readily.

She's a child.

And? Her being a "child" does diminish what she has to say about things or the fact that most of the time there is truth in what she says (even when she is completely oblivious to it).

I think she just went "f hair" and cut it with the dullest knife she could find.
