Which is the most effective?
So far i've just been putting Lightning Runes on my best stuff and Fire on anything else I use, but isn't that great. Frost just seems lack luster and since I get so much of em they're good cloth material.
Should I reconsider my way of things? Is Lightning generally considered the 'best' and fire the next best thing? Or am I completely wrong and Frost is the trick to soloing perilous as a lvl1 Katari?
There are multiple types of runs. Superb (+25) is the best and Lesser is the worst (+5). All increase damage. My advice is to throw out anything under Master (+16) and Superb (+25).
Yes, but I meant more along the lines of how useful each elemental type is. Kinda obvious that 'bigger number = better.'
Not looking for an answer along the lines of 'enemies resist certain types.' There's usually a clearly superior one in these kinds of things. At the very least a good breakdown against what is good against what.

They're all plausibly interchangable. Choose whatever makes your weapon look the coolest.
There are enemies that resist lightning just as there are enemies that resist fire and frost. There are fire mages, lightning mages, frost mages which all spawn. There are rage, despair and pride demons which spawn.
Because the damage benefit is relatively minor as they don't affect abilities (beyond spirit blade, which can only be affected by one type of rune anyways) and have low damage even on basic attacks, they aren't likely to be the deciding factor in any conflict.
True enough, but it's the small things. I recall frost being resisted by everything and its' mother...somewhere.
I also vaguely recall shocked status not applying properly? Stuff like this.
