Powers:
- Leaping shot
- Evade
- Stealth
- Spike Trap

Details of passives used here: http://da-skills.net...010,001A1,000,0

This set-up utilizes the Hunter as a very close range fighter. I believe Mortiel already made a build for close range fighting (http://forum.bioware...= hunter build).

The key differences here is the use of Spike Traps as well as Evade as an offensive option. This is a build I have been playing around with lately and one that I find extremely enjoyable to play.

One of the key components of this build is the use of Spike trap, combined with Stealth, Spike trap allows you to enter a spawn, detonate your spike trap and remain in cloak. Combined with The Knife in the Shadows perk, your next attack will always be a critical hit. The radius of the explosion (though not as big as Fire Mine for example) is wide enough for me to usually hit 2 or 3 enemies at a time (more if they are bunched closely together).

What Spike trap lacks in damage it makes up for in its ability incapacitate enemies by rag-dolling them in the air, its also pretty useful for chaining attacks together e.g. performing a leaping shot or a basic attack while enemies are in the air, usually to finish them off. As I have eluded to the actual damage of Spike trap in Stealth (along with the perks to increase its damage) is around 900 (1500 to 1800 on a crit) while not amazing the fact that I can initiate an attack without drawing aggro is very useful in my opinion and the consistent critical hit bonus that you get for Evade or Leaping shot means that you wont be too lacking in terms of damage overall.

Another key thing with this build is the use of Stealth + Evade as an offensive weapon, I often hear the usefulness of Evade for getting out of tricky situations and the potential of if it to damage enemies but I haven't really seen it being utilised offensively much. I think this is largely due to getting the time right so that the after image actually does damage and also the potential to leave yourself open to damage from enemies. I found the second evolution of Stealth (Lost in the Shadows) to be vital here as it allows you to pass through enemies while in Stealth, you are therefore free to time your attacks i.e. when you want to use evade. I tend angle it so that I can hit as many enemies as possible while breaking cloak. The video clips below highlight a few examples of this

http://youtu.be/mx9yzHRNPkg?t=17s

At the moment I can only record 30 second clips using the Xbone, will try and update this with video examples of Spike Trap usage Tomorrow.

In terms of of equipment i'm using one Unique HOK ring and Unique Attack Ring, Stamina Amulet (Rare), Belt of Health (Rare) and Longbow of the griffin. Ideally I would like to have the Unique cool-down amulet instead of the Stamina Amulet as I rarely have Stamina issues (the cool-down would be very useful for Spike trap in particular). I'm really liking Long Bow of the Griffin on him.

Spike trap is trash. Stealth is trash. Evade is trash. Leaping shot is trash. I'm talking perilous here. You can do what you like on threatening and below.

If you want a proper build, check out my thread.

You clearly have no idea about Robin Hood style archery. In medieval England NOONE was moving while shooting. Simply too 'heavy' bows.

I can't explain it to you further in English, too much specific words that i would have to google, but basically Robin Hood was standing still in wide open field (or at least with clear view sight) and try to aim above first line of footmans with shields to kill ones behind them (in actual battle of course, not some guerilla bs).

I could justify using stealth by Robin: in forest you want to ambush your opponent (wait for them at some alongside road tree) but he still is immobile on that tree. So other 3 skills are purely fake and thats not what Robin Hood was doing. Traps were set by his associates, there was no archer trained in setting them.

This makes your whole post and build invalid.

bum headshot.

Trash. If I ever see someone using that in Perilous, they're getting kicked.

There are quite a few different builds for the Hunter here on BSN, which show how flexible this character is.
I've completed 250 games with him today, playing mostly Perilous. I am pretty much settled with Throwing Blades, Explosive Shot, Leaping Shot and Stealth, but I've seen some players going for different builds and doing well. So there is definitely much room for experimenting.
Overall I think it is a character that deserves more appreciation than what he gets. He certainly can't out-dps his one-dimensional counterpart Archer, but he is way more fun in my book.

Agreed, at the end of the day its all about having fun, I greatly enjoy trying out new and different builds regardless on whether they are optimal or not.

I used Spike trap in my last build just for lulz.

Hunter is one funny kit.I don´t know if is it possible to replicate Krogan/Scorpion effect (shoot an enemy with the Scorpion then heavy melee ,usually from LZ in FBW) with the Hunter.

Having so much fun with the Hunter. Two nights ago during a PuG me (Hunter) and an Arcane warrior went one way while the other two stayed to guard The Room™. The Arcane Warrior went down, I snuck over and resurrected him and then I noticed the other two were knocked down too (courtesy of the DC, no doubt). Fall back plan, stealth to the Room and resurrect them, then Fallback plan back to the AW. Hunter = ninja with a bow.

But I think I'll give Spike Trap a go instead of Explosive Shot.

After much deliberation I have decided to rename this build, the Danny Glover build feels more appropriate to the playing style and quotes of the Hunter

Jesus Christ, first you desecrated name of Robin Hood now Danny Glover?

Main issue: Danny is black. Hunter is white as much as i can see under his giant hat.

Secondary difference: Danny never used a bow. In fact he is using various guns practically every movie.

Danny never used any kind of Hunter skills, in fact i doubt that he saw Spike Trap in his entire life.

Please stop false advertising your build. Here is proper name: "Blessed by RNG gods: Hunter build for routine".

Looks like a fun build.  I have yet to use spike trap, but I just might try out this build for fun.  I do recall seeing other players use it and enemies going for quite a ride.

As a head's up on recording, you can actually record up to 5 minutes on XB1, but you must do it manually.  "Snap" Game DVR while in game, and start manual recording.

To record to a PC/laptop I recommend this product (has worked very well for me):

Elgato Game Capture HD

http://www.memoryexp...roducts/MX44042

Anyhow, looking forward to more teabagging vids.  :)

Yeah give it a try, the build might not fit everyone's play-style but I found it a lot of fun. I'm going to try something similar with the Assassin, i'm sure Stealth + Evade will be even more lethal on her and it will be interesting to if 'I was never here' works with Evade on kill. Evade I believe has a 2 second cool-down and if you get no cool-down on Stealth then this could potentially be a very lethal set-up on the Assassin, will have to try it later and find out :)

I hear there's another video in the works, 50 shades of True Grey  I believe it's called....Let's just say it involves B00g13 getting triple-teamed  :bandit:

Sounds cool.  I used to use Evade early on for mobility and it saved my ass plenty of times.

*rubs hands together in anticipation of said video*  :)
