I have read a lot of posts on this site of people wanting to see the assets that were gathered throughout the game to be in the final mission a long with squadmates and other characters. I have even posted a few times a few things I like to of seen.

Feel free to post what your Priority Earth would be.

This is one of a few I would have for Priority:Earth

For my Priority Earth, I would have all dlc completed, made peace between Geth and Quarians, cured the genophage with Wrex and Eve alive and all missions relating to ME2 squadmates are done and they’re alive.

Mordin, Thane and Legion are dead.

Before going to Chronos, femshep knows she will face the reapers and wants to have all the help she can get. She is able to convince Kelly, Conrad, Jenna and even General Oraka to help. Miranda, Jacob, Zaeed, Kasumi, Samara and Jack join her on the Normandy. Femshep even gets a hold of Rupert Gardner to join the Normandy crew to cook his calamari gumbo.

After Chronos, all the fleets will gather to start the assault against the reapers at Earth.  All leaders meet together to discuss a plan of action with Anderson talking about the defenses that surround the Citadel and London. He says there are 6 Hades Cannons surrounding London and a destroyer near the beam. From what he’s been told, there are about 100 reaper ships guarding the Citadel above Earth. The Turian Admiral, Irix Coronati, will lead the fleets and Hackett will lead the Crucible to Earth. Admiral Raan will join Shepard on the Normandy.

It’s agreed that 6 teams will takeout the cannons on Earth. The Normandy will have 6 teams onboard, and will meet up with Anderson at a prearranged area outside of London before the main force heads to Earth. This area is free of reaper ground forces.

Wrex and Grunt leading a team of Krogan

Asari will have a team of commando’s

Turians led by Primarch Victus and Garrus. General Oraka will join the team

Shepard with squadmates.

Aria along with the Bloodpack, Blue Suns and Eclipse

Geth will have a team

The reason why I don’t have a team involving the Quarians is because of what Kal’Reegar says during Tali’s loyalty mission

http://youtu.be/5GYCpVIlp0s?t=10m45s

As the Normandy heads to Earth, femshep walks around the ship talking with folks, seeing everyone preparing for the assault ahead and watches Chakwas and Michel giving basic tips to Kelly, Conrad and Jenna about first aid. She even sits down in the mess hall to have some of Rupert’s gumbo

The Normandy meets with Anderson outside of London. As everyone leaves the ship, recon drones bring updates about the amount of ground forces at each cannon. This information is sent to the war room where edi will be stationed while the attack is happening to help the teams complete their objective. All information about the reapers over Earth is sent to Admiral Coronati.

Each team is given 2 Cains. Anderson will join Shepards team. The personnel that Anderson has will stay behind to help when wounded are brought back to the Normandy and to use to shuttle the teams to the drop off points. Traynor will be in charge of all communications. She will also relay messages to femshep about updates from Admiral Coronati and vice versa.

Femshep will have Miranda and Ashley for her squadmates

When all teams are in place, Shepard tells Traynor to have Coronati start his attack.

A cutscene shows the fleets entering the system through the relay

Back on Earth, Shepard and team meet some resistance heading for the cannon. Through her earpiece, the other teams are meeting resistance as well, but pushing forward. Once the enemy has been dealt with, Shepard has one of her squadmates fire the cain  destroying the Hades Cannon. Over time, the other teams are successful in destroying the cannons.  They all regroup to make a push towards the beam.

Back in space, Admiral Coronati orders one fleet to FTL into the middle of the reaper ships. They catch the reaper ships by surprise destroying several ships. As the reaper ships turn, the Turians FTL to safety. At that point, Admiral Coronati orders all ships to open fire. At the same time all Turian and Alliance fighters engage the Oculus. Within minutes a lot of reaper ships are destroyed. But the reapers counter very quickly.

Back on Earth, shuttles drop off the wounded. A shelter has been put in place near the Normandy. Chakwas, Michel, Kelly, Conrad and Jenna deal with the wounded.

Shepard along with all the teams engage the reaper ground forces while heading towards the beam.

Traynor tells femshep that Coronati has sent reinforements to help. A moment later, a lot of geth are seen landing on the ground and 4 Atlas mechs are seen landing in front of them. The mechs were taken from Chronos. Major Kirrahe and 3 of his fellow Salarians are seen in the mechs.

Femshep notices the destroyer moving from its position and heading towards her location. She tells Joker to get the Normandy in the air and has Admiral Raan order a few of her ships to fire on the reaper. She points the laser at the reaper and within seconds it’s fired on causing it to fall over. Femshep tells Joker to fire at the reaper while its still down.

A cutscene shows Gabby, Kenneth and Adams transfer as much power as possible to the main gun.The Normandy fires at the reaper. The reaper is destroyed

For a brief moment, everyone cheers, but still need to fight through endless amounts of ground forces to get to the beam.

At this point, femshep tells Traynor to have Coronati bring the Crucible

A cutscene shows the Crucible coming through the relay heading for Earth.

After what seems like an eternity, femshep looks to the sky and realizes that as long as there are forces coming from the sky, they won’t get to the beam any quicker. She tells Traynor to have Coronati fine a way to stop the forces from getting to Earth.

Coronati takes a look at the hologram before him and notices a couple of ships that are further back from the main reaper force. He orders the Volus bombing fleet and an asari ship to take out those troop carrier ships

Those ships are destroyed within minutes, but the Volus lose 2 ships with another one damaged.

With nearly a kilometer left to get to the beam, Harbinger makes his appearance and within seconds destroys a handful of fighters.

Femshep orders Steve to put the shuttle in a spot that gives full view of Harbinger and to uncover the 3 orbs..

A cutscene shows Leviathan. A moment later, Harbinger’s eyes are seen flickering and then go dark as it falls to the ground.

With Harbinger defeated, femshep and squad make their way to the beam. Just before getting to the beam, she tells everyone to head back to the Normandy once her, Miranda and Ashley go up the beam

The 3 encounter Cerberus troops right away. A squad member tells femshep to go open the arms while they hold off the enemy.

Femshep encounters TIM. If femshep has chosen all paragon, TIM will kill himself. If not, Miranda is seen shooting TIM in the leg. Both Miranda and TIM exchange a couple lines of dialogue before she kills him.

The arms open. Femshep, Ashley and Miranda take the elevator up to where the catalyst is located.

After the catalyst is finished talking, femshep has Steve pick them up. From the shuttle, femshep takes Ashley’s Black Widow and fires at the tube. Moments later the shuttle enters the Normandy as the red light expands.

I might post a low ems version later.

Even if it is unrealistic, I'd love the mission to be something like this:

You know I was having a discussion with a friend of mine the other day about how I felt some of the story elements of ME2 and ME3 should've been switched.

Actually ME3 as a whole should've been ME2 IMO. Allow me to elaborate.

Ending of ME1 shows the Reapers coming and Shepard exits saying he's going to find a way to stop them while Anderson and Udina deliberate. What if "ME2" opened with how ME3 opened? Reapers show up and kick every species' arse. Races are then left scrambling for their next plan, which prompts Shepard to investigate how to stop the Reapers while avoiding capture and indoctrination.

ME2 now plays out with Shepard and crew finding Leviathan and discovering the origins/motives of the Reapers. Basically take most of the story elements of ME3 (Leviathan, From Ashes, and Thessia) and place them in as ME2.

ME2 then becomes ME3 with all races piecing together a last ditch effort to travel through the Omega 4 relay into dark space (or keep it the galactic core as it was) where from what we learned in "ME2" from Leviathan awaits Harbinger, being the first Reaper who holds the original AI created by Leviathan.

The Suicide Mission now takes place in Act 3, since Bioware stretched themselves thin with so many variables to account for in ME3. Plus it makes the SM all the more dire because this isn't just about saving colonists from the Collectors, this is taking the battle to their front door and confronting Harbinger through dialogue. Don't necessarily need (nor want) a final battle.

Now at this point you might be fuming and thinking this is stupid (man what ever happened to David?) and might raise some questions:

Who are the squad mates of ME"2" now? What about the Rannoch and Tuchanka story arcs? What about the Crucible? What is Cerberus' involvement now? Why suggest any of this?

Well, I think the ME3 squadmates could and should remain as they are in ME"2"... Introducing James in Act 2 would work and Javik as well. Only iffy one is EDI obviously, but I think after the ME1 moon mission, she could be introduced in Act 2 as a espionage bot and then placed in the ship for Act 3. Joker and her still develop as originally intended. Joker's love for her doesn't have to by within a physical capacity in sexbot form. It would then make their relationship all the more genuine if she is housed in a ship. Then Act 3 squadmates remain the same, because you are recruiting the galaxies best for this mission.

As for the Crucible, away with it. After playing DA: I, the dialogue choices and in game decisions determine some of the end game results. ME3 could've done the same. Cerberus' involvement now isn't the evil, mustache twirling, crime lords they were in ME3. Rather they are still the same as they were in ME1/2... Private funded corporation that wants to advance humanity. Cerberus provides the means to get Shepard and company to the Omega 4 Relay as usual while the Alliance bolsters defenses to allow Shepard and company safe passage.

Now for the R/G/B endgame choices, who you side with throughout the game would determine what color you get. Side with Cerberus you get blue, side with Alliance you get red, and at the end when speaking with Harby AI they present you with green so siding with the Reapers gives you that color. How do we get these colors? Well each faction has developed a means to get the desired color. How that is?... well I leave that up to the writers (cop out!)

What does this have to do with Priority: Earth? This is my Priority: Earth. By placing the epicness of the Suicide Mission at the end of the series rather than in media res, it gives a sense of finality that ME3 was lacking. Plus it follows the story structure of introducing the main character (ME1), the character is dealt a crippling blow (ME3), the character then bounces back for a decisive endgame (ME2). Similar to Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and the like. The middle story is always darkest and what better way to show that than by having the Reapers kick our butts during Act 2?

Anyway, this dragged on and I could elaborate more if you desire it, but a lot of it boils down to switching most of ME2 with ME3. Ta-da!

EDIT: Oh yea, forgot to mention, by switching the arrangement, I feel this makes ME2 actually have purpose. In its original state, ME2 doesn't do much in relation to furthering the Reaper plot. It's a deviation from the story and by placing ME2 at the end now, it gives it a little more substance and purpose.

At first everything is quite similar to the original version. Fleets engage the Reapers, Normandy heads to Earth, Shepard joins the Hammer in a shuttle.

Hammer is met with organized resistance. Swarms of Harvesters like in Leviathan DLC attack the shuttles and scatter the allied forces. Shepard's shuttle is shot down and he, with the remains of the Hammer, retreats to an Alliance outpost. He meets Anderson and all other squadmates there excluding the two for the mission, of course. Anderson tells Shepard about the losses and that their initial strategy failed. They come up with another plan. Destroyer and Harvesters are guarding the beam and they can't come close to it. So the plan is to distract the Reaper forces while Shepard uses metro tunnels to get near the beam and sneak in the Citadel. Shepard can take any two squadmates there. There are two alternate approaches to the beam that need to be covered as well. Anderson leads the Alliance forces, Wrex and Grunt lead krogan forces - both attack head-on. James, Ash/Kaidan go with Anderson as well as Jack with her students Garrus, Samara, Liara, Javik and Zaeed take the rooftops along with salarian snipers, Samara provides biotic barrier (swaps places with Jack if biotic artillery focus was taken for students). Miranda, Jacob, EDI and Tali take spec ops squad down the river to obtain Cains from downed shuttles.

Shepard fights his way through the tunnels. They are collapsed in two places and Shepard is forced to go to the surface and sees squadmates in action. He gets out of the tunnels behind the beam and waits for the allied forces to arrive. They engage the Reaper, Harvesters attack them, Shepard sneaks to the beam but one Harvester notices them. Shots turn down a destroyed Mako and squadmates are cut off from Shepard. Just before jumping the beam Shepard turns around and sees (if high EMS) that squadmates survived. He goes up the beam.

Cutscene shows krogan and Alliance being overwhelmed and on the verge of annihilation. Just at that moment multiple Cain shots hit the Reaper and the Harvesters from behind - Miranda's squad succeeded. The allied forces form a circle around the beam and defend it to give Shepard time.

In space war assets are shown in action. Salarian ships, asari cruisers, Destiny Ascension - all shown fighting the Reapers... and losing. The Reapers are too powerful and it seems that the fleets are doomed. Just at that time Aria arrives with the Terminus fleet and breaks Reaper formation. She never played fair.

On the Citadel Shepard rushes to the Citadel Tower to open the arms. The Catalyst locks doors ahead of him and a hologram appears beside Shepard and tells him about the conflict, the reasons for harvest, that destroying the Reapers via the Crucible will destroy/severely damage everything relying on Reaper technology - geth, EDI, mass relays. It shows images of different races of organics being slaughtered by synthetics. Civilians, children etc. It also shows Shepard's previous encounters with hostile synthetics. Shepard keeps pushing and at some point hears an order from Hackett that the arms are opening. The Crucible is delivered and docked but Hackett says that it is not firing.

Shepard arrives at the contraption only to be stopped by the Illusive Man and a Cerberus squad. Turns out he has a device (similar to VR interface in geth fighter mission) that, added to the Crucible, will allow TIM to control the Reapers. Shepard is forced to watch how TIM gets in the device. Cutscene shows Reapers get back in formation and severely damage allied forces.

Cutscene ends and Shepard sees Anderson and his LI/most used squadmate attack Cerberus. Shepard fights Cerberus with them. When everyone is killed Shepard rushes to the pod and witnesses how TIM convulses in pain with electric shocks going through his body. Shepard contacts a Crucible scientist (someone familiar, if applicable) who tells him that the Crucible shoots automatically. Anderson points out that maybe this contraption is what stops it from functioning and it can be destroyed by destroying the tube. The fuel lines are not connected to the Crucible and go through the whole contraption. Shepard attaches a timed explosive to the tube (LI/most used squadmate gives it to him, similarly to Suicide Mission) and tells Anderson and LI/most used squadmate to head to the Normandy which have just arrived for evacuation. Shepard finishes installing the explosive and walks to the Normandy when TIM hologram appears. It tells Shepard that his decision will cause chaos and destruction of organics in the future. Shepard asks "What do you suggest?". TIM suggests leaving the Reapers intact and let them act as guardians if synthetics ever rise. He also says that harvest failed as a solution and that the Reapers won't try it again. The relays won't be damaged and geth and EDI will live. Shepard is forced to choose between saving the Reapers or killing them. Making a choice Shepard heads to the Normandy.

Hackett orders retreat, Shepard disobeys and heads to the Earth to assist his squadmates. Normandy provides air support and clears a path, Shepard gets to the ground and leads the forces into the tunnel he used. Crucible fires. If Destroy was chosen, Reapers are destroyed, if the other option - they fly away. Nobody knows what Crucible does so nobody catches a wind of it. Squadmates clear a rubble on Earth and Shepard comes out of the tunnel with his LI watching as sun rays come through the clouds.

Slides of the future are shown similarly to EC. After the slides, if Destroy was chosen - a humanoid robot is shown saying "Does this unit have a soul?". If saving the Reapers was chosen the dark space is shown with Harbinger's eyes lighting.

I confess, I don't know anything about the beam's geographical location and whether there are any metro stations there. But London has the oldest metro system, seems a waste not to use it ;)

Von uber can give a good explanation on the layout of the tunnels in that area I'm sure

Adding fights in the tunnels would be a nice addition to the final mission instead of being above ground the whiole time

In a nutshell:

Agreed. Almost exactly like the SM. At the very least I would like to hear audio or see footage of our former squadmates doing their thing.

When reach the beam, basically a brigade of various Reaper troops show up while we reunite with all our former and current squad. Big fight ensures. Shepard gets to beam.

Rest of game can play out the exact same way, but the squadmates needed a bigger role in the final mission.

For my Priority Earth, I would have all DLC and side-missions completed in all three Mass Effect's, made peace between Geth and Quarians, cured the genophage with Wrex and Eve alive, all my crewmembers loyalties are gained, and they’re alive. I would do everything possible to squeeze out every last point of War Assets I could out of the whole story--going back to Mass Effect 1. As for arriving at Earth: I would like to have more cut-scenes showing the space battle. The Normandy is racing in between cruisers and Reapers, large ships are firing, Reapers are fighting each other. The space battle would be hugh--like Star Wars hugh. Thing of the space battle from Episode III and VI, except replace it with ships from Mass Effect.

My Priority:Earth:

- All DLC completed throughout the trilogy.

- Over 8000 EMS.

- Cured the Genophage (Wrex in charge,Eve alive).

- Quarian/Geth Peace.

- All crewmembers alive and loyal.

- Tali romance.

As for the mission itself,I'll go over the mission in my P:E Fix thread since its too large to post here :P

I have come around to the line of thinking that Priority: Earth is intentionally claustrophobic and isolating.  We're walking into Indoctrination Ground Zero a.k.a. Reaper Central.  Everyone going in starts to feel like they're alone against impossible odds, as though that line of Krogan three hundred feet to your right doesn't even exist.  Individual squads get taken down because people lose their sense of spatial awareness within the overall formation and fail to coordinate fire support.  This sort of overwhelming mental distortion is the only way I can reconcile having those last few missile launchers left unguarded one moment and then the next having the London Reaper assaulted from all sides by countless ground troops with heavy weapons without any indication that they had been in place beforehand.  It takes Shepard ordering everyone to let the Reaper have it to snap everyone back to their senses.

But that should not have stopped the likes of Wrex and Grunt or Kirrahe and a line of Geth Primes from reaching Shepard and providing direct support in that final missile truck fight.  I'd like to have extended that missile run by one extra overwhelming wave of Reaper forces only to have Shepard call Coates to demand support.  Coates tells Shepard that he's on his own, cuing Wrex/Grunt/list of priority NPC's to reply "No he's not" and charge onto the scene.

At this point there's little else about the London fight I would change.

Now my Priority: Citadel IV... that would be drastically different.

Three things:

1. Have brief cut scenes that at least reflect the major war assets we acquired being put into action. I can understand not showing every little thing but we could've at least seen the Krograns/Salarians, Geth/Quarians, Turians, etc. in action.

2. Cameos from surviving/returning squad members in a "relay race" type fashion. By this I mean that we'd get to fight alongside one companion for a small portion of the mission before switching off to a new one at the next section. This wouldn't have to always involve simply getting an escort to the next point either. One section could involve holding off a wave of enemies while hacking a door; if a returning squad member is flagged to be there then they work on getting it open without having to send one of your current teammates to do the job.

3. I would've made the final run to the conduit a little longer- possibly even including a brief vehicle ride although from a development standpoint that might be impractical to program just for one small section of the game.

Otherwise, yes, just generally speaking the final mission should've felt like the suicide mission but bigger and better.

A couple of changes to Priority: Earth...

  • Would've loved to see all other squad mates I'm not using fighting with me along, along with other ground troops from different races, to give a sense of unity.
  • On top of that, each squadmate (not just in ME3), like Warble's idea, could have its moments in battle, like Kasumi helping you to hack through encrypted areas. If that particular squad mate is dead, a random troop could just replace them (Eg: Replace Kasumi with a Geth or Quarian).
  • Maybe some hardcore decision-making like the suicide mission. The decisions you make can even affect your final EMS.
  • SACRIFICES. Some decisions you make could affect the survival of some people (Eg: Without Aria's gangs, a potential squad mate could die in heavy fire).

Instead of a normal mission I would make it a series of missions that can be completed in any order leading up to a finale. Also, like in the Citadel DLC, more than Shepard and two other squadmates would be involved with every mission. The hub would be the forward base where Shepard can take different assignments. The catch is every action would take up time until the finale and resources which are affected by the war assets; some might even involve a sacrifice of some sort, probably from the squadmates. Throughout all this there will be combat involved good byes to the squadmates. For example, Garrus's fair well would involve a section where he snipes from a building and he says his goodbyes through radio chatter.

Now the grown part. The plot twist would be the Crucible is a Reaper trap and the Reapers are beaten through a conventional victory.
