Alchemist build advice

Build 1:
Stealth+
Knockout Bomb+
Toxic Cloud+ (+ explosive toxin)
Shadow Strike+
The idea would be to run in under stealth and send a group of mobs to sleepy land, poison them, and then shadow strike (hopefully having not taken any damage) for a bit of burst damage and CD reduction. Not sure how viable this would be with the massive CD on toxic cloud, and the measly 4s CD reduction on shadow strike.
Build 2:
Stealth+
Toxic Cloud+ (+ explosive toxin)
Shadow Strike+
Flask of Fire+
This would allow for similar play to build 1, but with flask of fire, I could get cooldowns down a bit more by spamming shadow strike. However, without KB, I'm not sure whether it would maximise the AoE DoT effect of toxic cloud, since I imagine mobs will simply run out of range?
Anyway, what do you think? Viable? Or give up and go skittles?

The "best" build that i have seen/used is whats called the Viper build.
the best way to do it is focus on getting I was never there first
followed by Poisoned Blades + then Explosive Toxin,
And Shadow Strike + and finally Your choice of
Flask of Fire + for more damage or what i'm experimenting with now is Evade+ For survivability
and at that point its your choice of passives

Both builds would work, however build 2 creates a much higher risk for you since enemies are not asleep or frozen. If you enter enemy LOS, you'll quickly become a target. Not a problem though if you remain in behind enemies (and have the passive for 100% flanking threat reduction--you should always have this one anyway imo).
Build 1:
Stealth+
Knockout Bomb+ (KB)
Toxic Cloud+ (+ explosive toxin) (TC)
Shadow Strike+ (SS)
With this one, I would: Stealth (run to back of enemy lines, allow team to aggro so enemy repositions) > once enemies are repositioned KB > TC > Perhaps use SS on biggest threat, otherwise stab all the things from behind (re-stealth as desired/need be - use the 50% stealthed damage bonus to your advantage as much as possible).
I think the only downside of using TC is that for the explosion to occur I think they need to die while poisoned. BSN, please correct if I have this wrong. All the same, you are still doing damage and that's what counts.
Once you get the hang of this tactic+situational awareness, you should easily be in 1st or 2nd scoreboard position consistently.

That's a nice build, and Penguin knows what he's talking about. I just wanted to see if I could get any mileage out of AoE. I suspect if I can't make either of my builds work, I'll go crazy with this build! It does sound fun, spamming flank attack, like a mini thousand cuts
@Robbiesan
Agreed re threat reduction, I always take easy to miss, and try to get positioned behind the furthest enemy whenever possible so that I don't get bum-rushed. Nice to know that it could work, though!
Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated.
