Okay that may not be a plot cliche, but it does annoy me to see it.

Our elders have foretold of a (insert protagonist's gender here) from (insert protagonist's origin here) who is (insert protagonist's defining trait here) and will save us by defeating (insert antagonist here).

Prophecy; it doesn't get any lazier than prophecy.

Mary Sue-ing a protagonist to a point where their death is somehow heresy.

More story wise:

Fighting a semi invincible god for 4 hours, then finally crash it with massive energy or find its lame weak point and destroy it.

A child dies at the beginning for a lazy emotional punch. See Heavy rain or the Last of us.

Another thing I hate: the "hero" is an ordinary person until they discover its their destiny.

Convoluted circumstances under which the protagonist must make the ultimate sacrifice, because bittersweet=deep.

Stupid or ignorant protagonists so the plot can be explained to them in small, easy to understand words.

Rape.

Quickest and laziest way to make a villain. Examples: Jacob's loyalty mission, City Elf origin.

While encountering an obvious zombie.

"Sir, are you okay?" Asks the man.

[Groan]

The man looks back to his friends. "Guys he needs help!" He leans forward, to allow the obvious zombie to eat the s*** out of his neck area.

I'm not sure that counts, but I really wish they'd stop.
