Ummm. Okay.
It's the future isn't it? There aren't any Russians in the future.

We all got British accents like Petrovsky and Mikhailovich. Those are the only two I can think of off of the top of my head. Oh, joker mentions the National Anthem before the Geth Dreadnought in what I'm guessing was a Hunt for Red October reference.
Славься, Отечество наше свободное
IIRC there was a Russian guy on Noveria. I guess he was the last of his kind. Apart from the guys with Russian names and non-Russian accents.
No, I'd like some more human diversity in future ME games. I don't mean in terms of skin colour, but culturally. In ME1, it was nice to bump into that Indian guy, even he was the only one. I understand that since it's made in Canada most VAs are going to be Canadian of American, but yeah, humanity really was very American in ME. I appreciated the touches of diversity here and there, I'd just like to see more if possible.
Also it might be quite interesting to meet people from the 3rd world countries who in the MEverse are still mostly at 21st century level technology.

Privet Krasotka.
Sorry, my keyboard doesn't have a Cyrillic option. I have to translate into the English alphabet via pronunciation. That said, your usage of google translator is inspiring.
But yeah, Mr. Putin is someone to fear. The hailing of the motherland is terrifying indeed.
Vy govorite po-russki?
Well, there's a planet in the Krogan DMZ called Durak. Also the planet Patsayev, notably for the largest written message ever created by a human. A miner named Andrei Kobzar, who searched in vain for eezo on the planet, wrote with a mass accelerator cannon "Zdes' nichego net" ("There's nothing here" in russian) on the planets surface. The message can/could be seen from space.
Edit: More human diversity is definitely a good idea.
Bioware rasict?No russians ok.Where all chinese?Japan?

Doesn't Noveria have both Asian and Russian? Also, some of my favorite Shepard's were Japanese. ![]()
At anyrate remember the ME universe has translators. You think all the species in the galaxy are actually speaking a human language? No. Many of the humans you meet might be russian and you just don't hear it because they have translators clearing things up for us. I don't know what the heck Donovan Hock was supposed to be speaking, though. Sounds like the guys translator has to work overtime or something.
Coincidentally, doesn't the game have different language options depending on region?

There's Maeko Matsuo from Noveria.
Well colonisation is done mostly by corporations or governments that are running out of space like china and america. So considering the current population of Russia and its geographic size I think even 150 years or so would not be enough to fill it so much that large numbers would need to emigrate. There still would be people going but not as much as the overpopulated countries.
Plus its much easier for the developer to make the mostly american/canadian sounding people in the game.
Miranda is of course Australian. As is her sister, going by the brief period we hear her speak.
Of course, Mass Effect doesn't have the homogenization of humanity as other works do, like Halo.
Depending on how you RP your Shepard and his appearance, name, and background, he might have a diverse origin.
Mine's just a boring white dude (Sheploo) from Los Angeles. It seems we Americans have to save the universe again (sigh). It's our lot in life.

And with dear Putin instituting his measures to keep Russians in and others out, immigration might stay that way.
Not everyone was American. Anderson was born in London.
And as mentioned before, there was also that guy who was born in London. Think it was Anderson.
Ah, but what part of London? That's the kicker question, isn't it.
I mean, what part of London has American accents?
Also, the files on him in Shadow Broker imply he's got family in Atlanta. Makes more sense too, since Anderson has a subtle Southern accent.

So. The Mormans were right afterall.

Plus he only said he was born in London. Does he say he grew up there? I remember a data pad recording of him telling a story of when he was a kid. He might had mentioned where he grew up. Otherwise, its possible he was only born in London but was raised in 'murica.
And Kasumi
How the flying monkey did I forget about her? I remembered the Noveria girl but not Kasumi? I'm losing it, man. Losing it.
The answer is fairly obvious really:
http://en.m.wikipedi...London,_Ontario
No wonder there is that awkward silence when he says it for the second time.
Bioware are Canadian so there might be something to this. Maybe he says it twice because he finds it amusingly ironic.

If you don't talk to him at all, while on the Normandy, he will only say it the one time

I'd feel too bad about myself if I ignored Anderson on the Normandy, lol.
Unless I headcanon that he doesn't somehow have a portable QEC. Hm.... maybe I'll try that sometime.

Isn't it kinda Kasumi's profession to make people not remember her.
