Cole and Kasumi OTP.

I don't know what the heck Donovan Hock was supposed to be speaking, though. Sounds like the guys translator has to work overtime or something.
Donovan Hock sounded Dutch or maybe Afrikaans?
And I'm surprised no one's mentioned Emily Wong yet.
Isn't it kinda Kasumi's profession to make people not remember her.
True but that doesn't excuse me forgetting her. I liked Kasumi. I still question the sense of bringing her on the squad or her contribution to the mission... but as a character I find her very likable. Shame on me for not remembering.
Here's a thread I created about what happens when Shepard doesn't talk with anyone.
When you say a character won't have a "meet up" in the Citadel dlc does that also mean they won't come to the party? I've always hated Sam and James' force invite.
That side look Anderson gives Shepard on the shuttle on Earth, after telling him for the second time that he was born in London, never fails to crack me up.
You too huh? It's like he knows.
Coincidentally, Mike, did does Anderson still give that side glance if its the first time he's ever told Shepard he was born on London?
And I'm surprised no one's mentioned Emily Wong yet.
I am the worse person in the world. How am I forgetting these people I liked. Whats wrong with me. q_q
What about that Sock-It-To-Me reporter? The one with the crazy name. She was.... something, Im sure.

The only one's that will be at the party will be Steve, Samantha, Liara, edi, Joker and James regardless. The others will be there if you choose to invite them

Khalisah bint Sinan Al-Jilani (sp?) (bit of a mouth full no wonder they shortened it). Sounds arabic, or maybe "persian" as they seem to prefer to be called these days.

So nothing changes at the party and the "no meet up" you mention in the provided topic is only in reference to their little side-stories on the Citadel? Shame. I was hopeful lol.

Yeah, her. Lol.
Miranda is of course Australian. As is her sister, going by the brief period we hear her speak.
Of course, Mass Effect doesn't have the homogenization of humanity as other works do, like Halo.
Depending on how you RP your Shepard and his appearance, name, and background, he might have a diverse origin.
Mine's just a boring white dude (Sheploo) from Los Angeles. It seems we Americans have to save the universe again (sigh). It's our lot in life.
and you say it is like a bad thing. Saving the world is our "job" and making humanity look cool at the same time.
What bothers me most is when Samara says that humans are the most individualistic species she's known (or something like that), I always hated that line since I come from a collectivistic culture

True. We wouldn't have it any other way.
America: get your own planet other humans! Leave the babes.

Actually I liked that part, especially the bit about "put three humans in a room and you'll have six opinions". Something like that.

As well, I don't think the idea that you live in a collective culture equals uniformity of thought and culture.
Granted, there's a lot more consensus on things.
I'd love to see our country become more collectivized, at least politically and economically. I am a believer in OWG after all.
But there does need to be a special splash of American freedom in there.
Don't know why the rest of the world thinks a 9-year old owning an AR-15 is a bad thing. Nah, I'm actually all for neutering the 2nd Amendment.
That said, I do own a Remington 870 (Polymer), a Smith and Wesson M&P, a Springfield M1A (Polymer), a Daniel Defense MK18 (essentially an AR-15 clone), a Walther P38, and an FN-15.
Because guvment tyranny.
Wow, I own 6 guns (4 of which are military grade assault weapons) and call myself a liberal...

Your culture does not equate the entire sum of humanity. Infact, it only goes to serve the point of how individualistic we are as a species. Only in this case the individual is an individual group. Your culture is different from others. Others differ from those. So on and so forth. Humanity are all over the damn place. We have so many varying points of view and culture differences that it can get hard to make sense of it all. Don't get me wrong I value the differences that make us special and all that jazz but it wouldn't hurt if we could come together and agree on a few things. Some more consensus on certain topics.
Like maybe lets not burst into homes of 74 year old vets recovering from surgery and gun them down. Or lets not immediately shoot a little kid holding a bb gun. You know. The little things. Getting a consensus on these matters would be a bit nice, I think. Shoot, imagine if we all agreed that money shouldn't run politics and those in power should represent those they claim to represent and be held accountable for lies and corruption? Or that the news must report factually accurate information, like those scary No Go Zones those backwards non-American countries have. Oh boy, that'd be great. Though I suppose me wanting that is just arrogant, insisting my way is the only way and all should accept it. Speaking of which, hey God! Looking good bud, trimmed beard a bit I see. Good for you. It's slimming.
What I find the weirdest is that the government and the people with money and influence do not see how what they are doing is actively destroying the system that is propping them up. And its the same way all around the world, people in power and money believing that they can do whatever without repercussions and that it will last at least their lifetimes. Unless the politicians stop and think that antagonizing each other is not exactly a good plan especially with all the nuclear arsenal still around. Or even non-nuclear. At least none of them have figured out that they could easily make cheap mass-destruction weapons by placing a few steel rods in orbit and dropping them down when there is a need. Clean, relatively cheap and not that much of a challenge compared to actually making an anti-ballistic missile shield.
Anyway another strong possibility is that different fleets in the Alliance could be staffed from different etno-geographical areas or groups. So people that were living in North America, whatever their actual ethnicity is could be assigned to one fleet and then people from central europe could be assigned to another one.

Erm .. maybe you should re-read my post, you know, the "arabic or maybe persian" part.
As for your history lesson advice, I'll take that under advisement.
Privet Krasotka.
Sorry, my keyboard doesn't have a Cyrillic option. I have to translate into the English alphabet via pronunciation. That said, your usage of google translator is inspiring.
But yeah, Mr. Putin is someone to fear. The hailing of the motherland is terrifying indeed.

Путин пугает , пока все не раздражается на трахал экономики. Я не люблю его, потому что он слишком консервативны.
He often invokes Your Holiness, though. Maybe you could help him out a bit by smiting some Ukranians? ![]()

Nope, just Miranda! Wait, you're a chick?
Well, his economy is crap. That's why he's annexing a country. He's going back to the glory days. Listening to W's assessment of him is hilarious too.
He's a very strong nationalist. The man isn't necessarily conservative so much as he is ultra-nationalist.
Maybe. First things first though we gotta stop Alonso at the Snackbar. They keep calling me Infidel for some reason.
What would be the point in annexing a part of the country that actually requires investment to function? About the only thing that Crimea is useful is as a naval base.
And ultra-nationalists are basically sugar-free-nazis, so I think you are kinda wrong there.
Anyway lets not talk about Putin or any other real world politican, they all are bastards, no matter which country they are from or what political party they are in.
Ultra-nationalism is a lot different than conservatism. I don't know what you're saying I'm wrong about.
And I disagree. Most politicians are actually fairly effective and beneficial, especially when given the chance to operate.
I think the people, the citizens, are the bastards. They don't know what they want, but they sure as hell know what they don't want.
What I meant was that Putin is no nazi.
As for politicians, please tell me you are joking or being sarcastic. You can look pretty much anywhere, local, national or global level and see how things are done. Personal agendas of each politician is always the main thing that they strive to do, usually it is about keeping themselves in power or gaining wealth. Probably both.
And yeah people are bastards too, after all the politicians have to come from somewhere, and the current political system in the countries that have democracy more or less is built on self interest of people, its not built on getting effective people into positions where they can work effectively, its build on getting likeable people there.
Personally I think you're both right. I used to think it was just politicians that were monsters. Life taught me people are just as horrible. Some people win office running on absolutely hateful, horrible things yet the people vote for them. That should say something. It's the world that is corrupt. Hate, fear and misunderstanding holds as much power now as it ever did. It just took on new forms and seeped into new areas of society to fester.
It's the future isn't it? There aren't any Russians in the future.

Commander Ivanova disapproves ... which basically means she'll kick your butt out the nearest airlock. ![]()
(She and Javik would have gotten along just fine.)
On topic: As stated, there are Russians in the game. Plus, it is made very clear in the beginning of Revelations, that ethnicities are very much mixed in the ME future and you barely find anyone who doesn't have traits from several ethnic groups anymore. As for language, we are hearing a translated version of all languages (as is done in almost all SciFi, in-lore explanation: translator in omnitool). And if we can translate Hanar luminescent signals in real time into fluent English, I am sure we can translate Russian.
And by the way, I haven't come across any blatantly Scandinavian person in hardly any game ever, yet, I have also never read a comment on that. Somehow they seem to be more chilled out about it.
