Well damn, I know now that he doesn't care that much about my warden now should have gone with Zevran. lol I would have liked a damn mention at least from my Warden's lover if he stayed with her and she had made Anora Queen.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Disappointing.  I wouldn't expect him to still be mourning her, but he could at least mention her in fond memory or something. Come to think of it, none of the old party members mentioned her. Neither Morrigan or Leliana said anything about her either. The only person who did (she was a mage) was Cullen, who said the same thing he does about an alive mage Warden.

 

In general, I was pretty disappointed with the returning Origins characters this time around. Cullen was really the only one that improved. And Alistair was by far the worst, just based on how he talks about a non-romanced Warden. He just doesn't seem like the same character he was in Origins. It's a shame too, since he was one of my favorites in Origins (and he was fine in DA2, I don't know what changed). It makes me not want to see any returning characters, in fear that they will ruin them.

Leli actually has quite a bit of dialogue on a sacrificed Warden. It's weird that Alistair doesn't have any, especially when you consider how the romance was back in DA:O. (Hint: He loved her!)

Actually, it would be nice that if he did not mention the Warden, the inquisitor could perhaps catch him sitting in a secluded corner of the tavern, looking at a well preserved rose. Words need not be said since players would know what that signified.

Well to some degree it makes sense for him not to mention it:

 

-It was 10 years ago so he has had plenty of time to deal with it and move on.

-He is being hunted by his own order, on top of that he is hearing the calling so he is trying to keep himself focused.

-He does not know the Inquisitor very well so it doesn't make much sense for him to just talk about his love life 10 years ago.

-He does show some annoyance when asked about the battle with the arch demon showing he is tired of talking about those events.

Apparently, he was in love with Morgian a lot more than the warden since he got in too bed real quickly with her, when it took a lot for him to get with Warden. I just headcanoned my Amell during my Lallvan Sloas that was dumped by Alastiar went for Cullen once she saw him again.

They could have had a little peace of a rose in a bottle around his neck to show he still cares about the Warden that was killed words aren't needed, but at least showed he still remembers her.

Were not saying he should have at least metioned it if he was left in the fade or something to aknowdgle that he still remembers her.

Please Alistair barely knows Inquisitor to tell him/her about his personal history of who he used to bed before they died as No.1, as No.2 it is not some "happy-merry" news that he feels like telling everyone he just met, as No.3 it has been 10 years since incident do you really expect of man to weep none-stop all eternity over one dead ex? Mention would be nice but honestly I don't blame him for saying nothing.

Besides...10 years? Sure Warden will always keep special place in his heart but that doesn't mean that Alistair isn't ready to move on with his life and even relationship. Before someone says "No he better don't dare!", oh really if it was Warden you wouldn't even wait for 10 years to pass before hooking with another guy but since Alistair is just NPC in here he must be forever in tears for your Warden? Please to all people thinking as this just stop being babies and grow up!

But Alister isn't Lilianna or Morrigan.

 

Lelianna becomes an associate shortly after the prologue and then your spymaster so naturally she woud talk about it, plus in Origins she was a pretty open person in general.

 

Morrigan always likes to get a word in regardless (plus if she has a child with her the question of who the daddy is will be enevitable) also she may tell you in case she feels Lelianna told you a version of the events she feels is inaccurate.

 

But again everyone is different, how many people go around just talking about there love lives with people they hardly know.

 

From the story perspective Alister barely knows the Inquisitor, hasn't spent any time with the Inquisitor where the others either have or just have a vested interest in the events being shaped by the Inquisitor.  Plus again he is fighting the calling which means he is more invested in making sure he does not answer it.

IDK about Lel but Morrigan actually does not venture the information until the Inquisitor prods her and even then she pretty much tells the Inquisitior what another user here said, "I don't see how this is any of your business but....".

It would've always been tricky to include the HoF in conversation unless they came up as a big plot point without it seeming forced. IMO they managed to do a decent job with it.

Lileana and Morgian barley know the inqusitior and both of them mention the warden whom did the US. That arrugment is bogus to me as a reason why he did not mention the Warden.


It would not suprise me that he really did not love the Warden if he doesn't even mention the Warden if left in the fade. If the wardens that came with you can still think about the location of an remote base like the western aproch then I can still see them have some memory of a lost friend or lover.

You can ask Alistair about his involvement with defeating the Archdemon, but he makes no mention of his relationship to the HoF at all.  His snarky remark is about how that's all anyone wants to know about (his involvement in the war), that he'll have to be answering questions about if for the rest of his life.

And yeah, Dagna's response made me teary eyed!

My warden turned down Morrigan for a romance because it wasn't the right time. But he regrets giving up his son, so his hunt in that dlc was totally legit. He was mad Morrigan kept him from him. I imagine that he is trying to cure the calling for himself and his fellow wardens, and that afterward, he will continue to try to track down Morrigan because he wants his son. Giving him up was the biggest regret of his life.

My female warden knew there was more to Flemeth and Morrigan, so it made sense to keep an eye out. She felt like if something was going on or if Morrigan needed any help, she might return. (She like Morrigan even if they didn't always agree on things.)

But there are many other rp reasons for a non-romanced warden to keep an eye out for Morrigan or Flemeth; I have a lot wardens and they all have their own reasons though I will concede that the Morrigan romancers lucked out, kind of like the Liaramancers for the LOTSB dlc for the ME series.

Weird that Alistair has no mentions of a dead Warden. Leliana still seemed really heartbroken about my ultimate sacrifice Warden after all this time, heck she could hardly muster up the will to speak about her whenever she came up without sounding like she was going to run off and break down somewhere.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that missed this.  And yeah, I get it, it's been 10 years since she died.  But there are so many other nods to characters from past games and the histories between characters.  As an avid fan of the series, I wish BioWare had put SOMETHING in there to give a nod to his lost love!

Ah well.  I'll just be over here imagining poor Alistair sacrificing himself to save the Inquisitor and Hawke, dying and being reunited in heaven with his beloved.  I'm such a sucker for that kind of thing.

Aww yeah, I didn't romance him, but I miss Zevran. I wonder what he's up to? He's the only romanceable companion who didn't show up. Since the rumor is we're moving up in Thedas for the next game, there's a chance we could see him again, since Antiva is in the north.
