Why do I always look forward to the next Elder Scrolls? I mean we all know that the only thing new about each installment is what they take away yet I always hold onto that hope that perhaps this time they will learn from their mistakes, that they will somehow make a game that finally utilizes the potential of the large worlds they create, but we all know it will be the same as the last game only with more features taken out and far less inspired quest design.

Not saying that the next Elder Scrolls will be announced but I would honestly be surprised if neither Fallout 4 nor the next installment of the Elder Scrolls series wasnt announced, surely they have to have something big to announce at their first E3 press conference?

Had enough fantasy lately. Woulld be happy to see a next Fallout game. My bet  goes to a brand new title or something similar, though.

Rage 2: The Burning Anger

or

Rage 2: Trail of Tears

or

Rage 2: The Broken Trust

I've become cynical about Fallout 4 ever since Bethesda maintained silence during "The Survivor Debacle". I want it (it's my most wanted game, except for maybe an expansive single-player spiritual successor to KotOR) but I'm convinced that it isn't happening or if it does it'll be another 3 years of waiting. I've come to believe that maybe they were waiting to start development on it because they had no idea when the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii generation was going to end and well...

The Xbox One and Playstation 4 have been out for about a year now. I can't see them going cross-generation on it and I think that it takes them about 4 or 5 years to make their games, going by that logic 2018 seems to be about the minimum, 2018 would also be the 10 year anniversary of Fallout 3. Add to all that Todd Howard's statement from last year that it'll be a while before they are ready to talk about a new Fallout and the outlook just doesn't seem so good. I don't know. It's just become hard to not be cynical about it and I'm afraid that a lot of fans are going to end up getting hurt/disappointed yet again.

Bethesda should just confirm or deny that they are working on Fallout 4 at this point, just like Valve should with Half-life 3; these aren't some super secret, top-secret classified Government projects, they're video games.

I could seriously go for a Rage 2 though, I really loved the first.

/hopes FO4 is only announced if given to Obsidian

I hope not lol, FNV was dull. Capital Wasteland was far more interesting than the empty deserts of NV.

I hope FO4 is announced as team project with both Bethesda game studios and Obsidian. Yeah I don't expect that but I would love it.

That would be amazing. Sadly, consoles worldwide would explode from to much awesome.

But what about the element of surprise? They want to make your heartbeats stop with so much melodrama about the existence of the project!

Yet I can remember every faction, major characters, awesome quests, locations ect, something I can't with FO3. Something is dull but it sure as heck was not NV.

See the problem is you and I will never agree lol, that's exactly how I feel about NV. I hated the setting and didn't care for many of the companions etc.

I can't understand how anybody could find FO:NV dull but see FO3 as exciting/refreshing, especially as so much of FO3 is spent fighting super mutants/ghouls over & over again before it changes slightly when the Enclave finally show up, i remember getting so tired of fighting super mutants & ghouls in the destroyed underground train stations

I just hope a Fallout game gets announced. If it's not being developed by Obsidian, than atleast there is a chance of Obsidian using the resources from that game to make Fallout: Boneyard

Because, I love me mah Super Mutants. And exploring the blasted ruins of Washington was awesome. I still remember the first time I discovered Arlington National Cemetery and a bunch of other locations. New Vegas never once did that for me. I didn't really care about the NCR or Caesars Legion.

I'm assuming you didn't play the original games then?

Obviously for some the gaming began with Mass Effect 1 and Fallout 3, back in 2007.

They don't know about the Golden Age of PC gaming: 1997-2005.

Just feel the need to state I never played the originals but gave a damn about the Legion and the NCR in New Vegas.

Wrong, I'm 32. I have played BG 1&2, IWD 1&2 and Every Fallout game( including the horrible Brotherhood of Steel on the original Xbox).

You have to prove that you're not a 16 years old!

Fallout Tactics is an strategy game anyway. RPG fans have no right to say it's a horrible game.

Ha, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is not Fallout: Tactics Brotherhood of Steel. It is a dumbed down action game that released only on PS 2 and the Original Xbox. And yes, it was horrible.

Every time someone brings up "the burned game" an original FO fan gets a hemorrhoid

Doesn't stop me having Brotherhood of steel as a guilty pleasure.
