ok im relatively new to DAI MP (one week of real play), but i went pretty hard in ME3, so i kinda know the bioware routine.

i play with pugs and i think it ruins the fun if people just run past secrets and slaughter everything (and also ignore "come here" shouts).  it seems pretty dumb to ignore the extra loot. and its kinda ignorant if one just runs ahead and has all the slaughtering fun while others play slower to do the looting. are these people in fact noobs who dont know better or dont care, or is this some kind of pro strategy?

So to summarize:

Other people

 -ruin your fun

 -are ignorant

 -seem to be pretty dumb

And you are content by just letting your steam off here? I say punish them ingame!

People in multiplayer are supposed to play the way you have most fun out of it.

If they don't comply, make them suffer!

My Suggestions:

- Spam F4, that's a classic, just everywhere

- If they ignore the treasure room and you can open it then do so! Chances are high

that a revenant will run after them instead of attacking you! See, even the revenant wants to punish them for ignoring him!

- refuse to help them in battle, better yet try to lure more enemies to them to overwhelm them

I tell ya people won't learn otherwise to play the game the way you know is best!

My behaviour in those situations depends on the people I'm with. Speaking for Routine or Threatening, since on Perilous, groups tend to stick together more for their own safety.

-If the two players enter the room and one guy storms ahead, I will usually go with the group.

-If the one guy attacks a group of mobs close to the treasure room, I will help him clear them out, because in most cases thoseare already aggro'd and just take their time to move; mostly ending up falling in our backs while looting. Every map has at least one TR where that always happens.

-In those beautiful and rare cases in which the Legionnaire or the Templar turn out to care for tanking; will accept them as leaders and try to cover them whatever they do. I understand that it's seldomly necessary below Perilous, but it's just way more fun to actually work as a classic group.

P.S.: Cool username, OP. I suppose your ME protagonist must be quite the GERMAN SHEPARD. I will leave now.

Again, this not true for most newer players. And while skipping them may be more fun for you, there are plenty of people for whom clearing the treasure rooms is both strategic and fun.

I understand that very new players are more heavily invested in gold returns, but those are also the players that should be more likely to be in a Routine lobby than the Perilous I generally run.  I doubt that many would advocate taking a well geared character into a Routine match and rush through to ruin the experience for brand new players.

I think most players insist on clearing treasure rooms because they haven't actually tracked just how poor the return on time investment is for doing so.  I also used to clear all treasure rooms until I actually timed some runs and realized how poorly BioWare they were set up.

I still strongly believe the best solution is to remove pots (seriously, does anyone enjoy those things?) and place all of that gold in the treasure room chests instead.  Then the gold gains would be worth the time commitment to clearing those rooms & I think you'd see them skipped much more infrequently.

Danak, you are right most people will skip vases and rooms once they have reached a point in equipment and focus on promotions. Myself, I do enjoy vases and chest rooms because it reduces the monotony of killing, and even though I am well aware the gold has little benefit to me at my particular stage in the game, I very much appreciate when I find a perilous team that still does them.

Your suggestion to move gold from vases to chests could work, but I believe if the goal is to incentivize people to do chest rooms, vases, or some other activities in addition to simply killing, they need to add unique or at least valuable rewards for such side tasks. Just to give one of many possible rewards, a chance at finding unique cosmetic items, i.e. hats, dyes, pets, etc., in a chest, vase, bush, or whatever.

Quote option not working for me...bleh!

IDGAF about prestige, IDGAF about threatening since not once in my last 30 games did I complete. Can't solo, no friends, and pug's fail way to much.

So I'll keep playing where I don't get 1 hit KO'd, and where I don't have to play classes I eff'n hate....

So, again, as I said, My opinion vs your opinion....

Just an fyi medals only award xp to the player that got them.

Allslayer.. I am fairly certain you're wrong. Hit streaks increase experience for the team. At the final board.. it shows how many "points" someone has along with kill streaks.. but the XP is SPLIT.

That is why the two level 1s we carry always end up the same level even when we have someone rejoing the game on 5/5 to promote quickly after killing everything but 1 enemy.. hopefully you understand this trick. If not, ask me.. great time saver.

This isn't actually true. The medal XP is individual. The difference isn't significant though.

Yeah they be the same level but I bet they don't have the exact same amount of xp towards the next because one probably got more/higher tier medals than the other. Like I said to Jeremiah play a match with everyone using freshly promoted characters and you will see.

That's exactly what I did. My gold kill medal earned me 100 more xp than the player with a silver kill medal iirc.

I don't mind stopping for doors.  I DO mind when players spam "over here" when we still have incoming enemies.  The loot will still be there after we kill the guys waving swords at us, I promise!

I think I'm starting to approach that limit where I purposely ignore the "come here" spammers.  I'm not there yet, but . . . soon.

I open my mic on PC and tell the "Come Here!" spammers to relax, we all know what it Means once a question mark pops up on our minimap.

A few things to consider not covered by Veramis:

1. Is your team playing above or below your difficulty level?

2. Do you know the maps?

3. Is your team killing too slow?

As I explained to someone in a mic discussion (paraphrasing self) "Just because you play Perilous using the ArcadeWarrior to carry your team (*BWnerfpls*), it doesn't mean you're going to be making money faster than someone pugging Threatening. If you team kills P-mooks slow and your games are twice as long a properly equipped P-team then you're grinding for nothing. It's worse than noob Platinum farming  because at least they are being lazy earning gold. You're actually working twice as hard for almost the same pay." By that I mean AmountGoldPerGame=/=AmountGoldPerHour. Obviously playing Routine with an OP kit means you won't get gold as fast as playing Threaten if you can run map at roughly the same pace (speed at which your kill enemies). The same principle applies to Threatening and Perilous when your'e under-equipped.

If the people on the team or you don't know the maps, then that will impact your loot speed as much as actually looting every possible vase. One noobish or confused player makes a world of difference. I can clear a Routine match playing duo in 7-7.5 mins with no looting or 8-9 mins with looting. My average time with Routine pugs is about 11 mins (if I run ahead) and 13 if they are noobies. 13 mins is about the time it takes for me to clear a Threatening match with a fully-competent team WITH looting involved. There's no reason to be skipping chests on a RT match. Even if a player doesn't want to loot, then the least they can do is open the door before moving to the next spawn. Spamming "get over here" is grounds for getting your team flashed to the next zone or someone walking up to their assigned door then dropping out of the game (OP).  ^_^

People have different goals while playing. Running ahead isn't something I really see people doing as a motivation for being first on the scoreboard, especially if you talking about a Routine match. Some are gold chasers, some people are banner hunting (the ones you're mostly likely to see running ahead on RT), and some may be doing XP runs for the Prestige. If you want to play matches and not help loot as much then all you have to do is play a class someone else is using. Simple. People who loot hardcore are not any better than XP runners because they try to force other people to play their particular style as well. Funny thing is they are the ones that do most of the raging.

I just follow the group, you usually find out what kind of party you're with by the first treasure room. If they are not a treasure room group i usually change lobbies after the run.  I needs mah golds!

With the vanishing vase bug, I just assumed all the BWEs were speedrunners.

To be honest, it probably evens out. It's not worth stressing over.

You can either finish faster, get the large chunks of bonus gold, and play another game.. or take the time to finish a match and get more gold in the same match. I'll usually just do whatever the group seems to want to do. You also don't always need all 4 people to clear every treasure room.

On routine, the gold amounts in pots/chests are small, it's probably better to just finish the match faster, xp up, and get to threatening.

On threatening and perilous, I usually go for most of the rooms, unless one is far out of the way. Same with pots.

If you're near the end of a zone, a good strategy is to have 1 person rush for the door, and everyone else finishes up the looting. If they're smart, they'll wait until all the "+gold" messages are done (like I do), then they'll hit the door to port everyone up when its clear.

In some cases, I see people waste time going for the treasure rooms and then failing the "save the artifacts" type objectives, thus losing even more gold! That one I really don't get.

This is almost always on accident, I think. I've failed a couple of these myself because I wasn't paying attention to the condition bar.

Pugs are another problem with this, though. Because once a player enters that area, the product begins to degrade. If everyone waits then it doesn't. So there's enough blame to go around on that one depending on what you're team is like.

Fair enough, and opinions such as yours are precisely the reason why I go with the majority when I am not hosting with friends.  When I join a random group I generally play how they prefer (unless they're being obnoxious, like spamming F4 non-stop while they can clearly see I'm running toward the door for them) and then look for a new group next game if I didn't enjoy myself.

I detest it when someone randomly joins my in-progress game then proceeds to berate me for not playing the way they wish, so I'll absolutely extend courtesy to others when I join their games in turn.  If more people followed a similar philosophy then discussions such as this would be moot.

This is funny.

1. i have to say.. idc about kills.. my most played toon is my keeper ^^

2. i don´t play routine

3. on threat. i do open up the doors for my grp and well help them to kill the mobs.. BUT not when i sit in a random grp with shity ppl ( i don´t mean gear i mean playstyle ). I don´t risk 1 of my death bc of a random level 1 item or 50 gold.

4. on pres. i don´t care about these doors. Why ? It is a waste of time. If your new and you need that loot/gold.. you don´t have to play pres... go back to threat. and farm there. ( if you just like to do them because they are there.. okay fine.. keep reading pls :)

This only applies to pres. now :

If i join a random grp... and they start open up the doors.. ill ask if they wana do open every door.. if the answer is "yes" or silence.. ill leave the grp.

If ppl joining my room ( i normaly play with 1 or 2 friends ) we do skip every door.. if some1 opens a door.. he will get a nice charming warning that we won´t help him.. and we do summon him as soon as we get to the end of the map.

I obey the party rules when i join a random grp.. and leave if i don´t like it.. same goes for our/my lobby. Iam okay with ppl who wana do it.. i just don´t get it why.. except it is fun for them... but most of the time the F4 spamers are ppl who lack gear.. and if you lack gear.. don´t start to farm it on pres. ! Threat. is way faster way easier and you will most likely meet ppl who are willing to do it the same way as you.

If your asking yourself why we don´t play a private... well.. its simple math.
