I've read that something's wrong with them. It sounds like maybe your prestige score doesn't go up when you promote, but it's supposed to? How much is it supposed to go up?
So what's broken with promotions?

Pretty sure this is fixed post patch. There was a lag between your actual promotion and the prestige on friends leader boards. From what I can tell, this is fixed.
