What I found was that by mastering your build and playstyle on Threatening, you can generally take this to Perilous.  I was also wondering how I'd do, but my first games in Perilous using Reaver, I played her to same way I do in Threatening, and did just fine.  More enemies, slightly tougher, but utlimately the tactics are the same.

What you may want to look at is whether your chosen abilities/passives/accessories towards Perilous level.  As is obvious, your weapon will make a difference with respect to your DPS.

Make sure you have some form of healing available and if you're new, you might should consider ensuring that you can self-barrier if a mage or build guard if a warrior. Bring regen and rock armor potions. Ensure that you can either tank up, pair with a keeper and go balls-to-the-wall DPS, or set up cc safe zones with fire mine and firewall, or static cage.

I'll preface by saying I play too much.. The group I run with generally has 300-450 prestige... These aren't golden rules. You can truly win with anyone.

Sorry, I haven't read the other forums but these are my tips:

1) someone in the group should have barrier

2) promote, promote, promote - I do not comprehend why you would have a level 20. You are wasting experience and slowing down your promotions. Find a good group that allows 1 or 2 low levels to power level up to 9/10 after the perilous run.

3) If you dont have amazing equipment, its smart to pull the crowds -even seasoned players can die on perilous quickly.

4) understand the different characters.. legionnare's need to get barrier first and then taunt the crowd. If you barrier after, you can draw aggro.

5)Learn about line of site.. (same reason why pulling rooms can help). Dont stand in a doorway looking into a room and wonder why you died to 5 archers full draw that you couldnt see through the ele firestorm

6)Use your potions

7)be friendly - funny, and for gods sake dont just vote out people at low levels...

When I join and get kicked, I giggle.. My 53 willpower is probably sufficient with a level 7 character on perilous..... I always give people a chance to show me they are decent.. I even joined a level 1 in a perilous match when I was the 2nd person in....

I love the hipster and coffee point above.. we do that when the group plays. Built in grinding breaks are nice.

The tip can be important but it's only one component of it. After all it is a team effort therefore the shaft and both juggernauts are to be considered also. Attempting a back perilous entrance without mastering foreplay on threatening can be difficult.  It is about easing and slowly progressing with a certain push pull methodology until both elementals are comfortable. Obviously I'm talking about the team and gear here. B)

If you fail don't  worry and pull out but don't force it as it might cause more frustration than pleasure. I have to note that promotion/practice can make it easier when it comes to accessing that interesting place.

Perilous tip one:  Make sure she is not married before putting on the charm.

Perilous tip two:  Do not dab BBQ sauce behind your ears before going in to feed the tigers.

Perilous tip three: Do not run with scissors.

they start to get mad when you do nothing...... i did start to applaus them.. since my 4 years old can handle pres with a level 11 arcance 1 handed with eyes closed and using a steeringwheel instead a mouse / cont.. not to mention hes balancing a sharp axe on his forehead while "playing"... but that would be to much i guess.

irony off.. oh no not realy.. i just said the truth :(

The best tip for perilous is to spam barrier. If your into support roles than use keeper, she is always welcomed in perilous groups. If you want to play any warriors beside the legionnare you will most likely be kicked :) The whole meta game on perilous revolves around surrounding the group with barriers. So two keepers or elemental with two dps works well.
