I was playing as my male inquisitor and, after getting all the red handkerchiefs I completed the quest to unlock Sera. My first impression was : "So she's a short-haired woman wich is kinda ugly, but expressive. I really liked her! She'll be a great addition to my team! *BAM* You're hired."

 

So, after getting back to Haven, I had a chat with Sera at the tavern. When I hit 4 - the romance option button - she not only reject me, but she cringed at me.

 

Cringed... at... me...

 

Why not only "Look, I like girls. But it's alrit innit?", or something like that, in her silly way to speak?

 

I have been rejected by many women in real life before, but... This is new. I feel like I am crap. Before, I just felt like a loser, but whom could do something at life.

 

 

Can anyone help me? Your help would be very appreciated... Thank you...

That's odd.  My male qunari flirted with her and I got a "Yeah, we have so much in common.  Like, we both like girls"  And a "Sera slightly approves".

If you play your cards right, you can still be her BFF. On my second PT, my male human warrior and Sera got along great and spent a lot of time on the roof, talking and throwing cookies at people. I didn't care for Sera before and then once she ninjafriended my warrior, I changed my mind about her. She's kind of neat although I don't ever want to romance her.

Hmm my experience was more similar to the (trolling???) OP's *rubs chin* Like she seemed offended and made a face lol This was directly after recruiting her and with a male Lavellan. Could be an elf thing? She's not fond of elves. 

 

I was only messing about but I'll be honest; her reaction kinda surprised me and hurt my feelings a wee bit

Okay, I admit, I chuckled at this story, whether it's true or not.

 

But yes, as has been stated, she still has a great friendship path if you're a male Inquisitor. Just make sure you keep increasing her approval over the course of the game. She really opens up.

At this point, I think people purposely make threads about Sera being a lesbian and being rejected, as a man, so they can cause drama on the forum.

On a related note, I also flirted with Cullen with my male Lavellan, and when he finally said he could only offer me friendship... I felt my heart crumble up into itty bitty pieces inside me And yeah I knew he was straight Just can't ever resist flirting with him

At this point, I think people purposely make threads about Sera being a lesbian and being rejected, as a man, so they can cause drama on the forum.

 

I've never seen another thread like this nor any drama.

I think it depends on how much approval you have. If you just got her and/or have lower approval, she cringes. If you've gotten on her good side, she's more respectful and explains you both like women.

 

As for OP: Yeah, that's Sera in a nutshell. Openly rude, dismissive, and contemptuous of everything she doesn't like, and doesn't bother sugar-coating to spare your feelings. Just playing as a mage or an "elfy" Dalish and watch her rip into your kind whenever she feels like it, not care at all that she offended you, and actually disapprove with you for daring to stand up for your people. Maker forbid, right?

 

She's comes around about her opinions on mages. After awhile she begins to trust with your magic and friends with Dagna whose all about the magical and strange.

 

The Dalish through...

Beats Vivienne I suppose. At least Sera attempts looking at someone else's point of view. Also, she's perfectly willing to learn about Dwarfy stuff.
