Fiona from the novels doesn't exist, Cory probably could give her four dollars and get some alley time.

No that would be Vivienne.

Vivienne never joins Cory, unlike a certain elf wench who willingly goes with him =P.

Vivienne never joins Cory, but a elf wench willingly goes with him.

I doubt Fiona willingly went with Cory. Vivienne would have if she thought it could have gotten her even a little bit of power.

Vivienne crave for power, but she's a lot smarter than that.

Like possibly being a founding member of the inquisition? She tied her hopes into that.

When it just as easily could have crashed and burned.

the facts are against you, Vivienne didnt join Cory and Fiona joins him if you side with the Templars.

Vivienne is clearly the smarter one here.

She is not a founding member of the Inquisition. She just seen people would could put her give her back the power she lost. And if she thought Cory could do it instead, she would have jumped ship in half a heartbeat.

If the player refuses to recruit Vivienne. Do we see her ever taking actions against us later by siding with Cory?

If no, then I say you have very little ground to stand on.

Still a better chance to get more power than siding with centuries old Magister with the delusion of grandeur who hated by almost everyone. Well, look where Fiona is now, if the Inquisition didn't show up to save her sorry arse. :P

No she grabbed a life line trying to protect her people from the templars she thought were going to level Redcliffe. She didn't know about the Darkspawn. Until it was way to late. After all I am sure she was trying to not only protect her people but also the people of Redcliffe. The ones who weren't mages. The people that the templars would butcher along with the mages.

She can be there back when Chantry censure is still being mentioned my friend.

o.o I'd argue she's more a founder then say random soldiers featured in one cutscene

Once Fiona heard the rumor about the Templars plan to invade Redcliffe, instead of taking this news to discuss with Teagan, and to cooperating with the arl in effort to defend the town. She rolls out a red carpet for some shady magister she never knew, and allow him to banish Teagan, his soldiers, and a good portion of civilian in Redcliffe. Does that sound like protection to you? She basically allowed those helpless civilian to be sent to the wild where apostastes and renegade templars are fighting, to get caught in their war.

Yeah she could have handled it better.

It doesn't hinge on Vivienne. She isn't really needed. Hell I only recruited her so she would get pissed at all my pro-mage decisions.

And when the Darkspawn magister appeared she joined him anyway. Ofc she was trying to protect the people from Redcliff joining him, its not like he is trying to destroy the word or anything.

Yeah because she knew right away Alexuis worked for a Ancient Darkspawn.

And if you want to go with she knew about the Cory, then it is logical to say the Templars knew about him to and where willing to follow him. They willing took red lyrium just to crush the mages.

The high ranks templar, who didnt die at the conclave, did knew about the red lyrium and willingly took it.
And Fiona didnt knew about Corypheus, until he showed there (Dorians says he marched from Redcliff to Haven), and when he showed up she joined the Venatori.

Did she join the Venatori, Was that actually said or is your hate for her so much that is what you want to believe. Because she wasn't Venatori in the Dark Future. She was being used to grow Red Lyruim. So I have a feeling that was actually her fate if the templars are chosen.

Yes it is said the rebel mages joined the Venatori.

Iron Bull: I guess the Vints will be pissed with you after warning everyone at Haven.
Dorian: Not that my warning did much good.
Iron Bull: Didn't see any rebel mages coming to do it.
Dorian: There is that. The ones who didn't join the Venatori either ran off or were killed.
Iron Bull: Ah, see? Good on you. Way to join the underdogs.
Dorian: I'm thrilled, really.

She was a rebel mage and she is alive attacking Haven, so she joined the Venatori.

I don't think there's any hard evidence for the theory.

But I happen to subscribe to it. What evidence there is to be found is in how Fiona can't remember speaking to the Inquisitor in Val Royeaux (unless there's some confirmed time magic thing happening there that I didn't catch?), and how strangely many of the Mages act when you reach Redcliffe. Alexius would also probably be very willing to resort to those measures.

I think that Fiona and some of the other Mages with authority were under some blood magic influence.

That's how I see it too. There may not be any hard evidence, but we have enough indications in the game to show that this is what the writers intended.

Was she attacking Haven?  I don't know because I haven't, and likely never will, sided with the templars.

Okay. I'll have to take your word for it. I probably will never know.
