But there is no way for the Templars to lose, they have higher numbers (even if you add the Inquisition soldiers to the rebel mages), they are better prepared, they have the population support, etc...Indeed.
I actually have a storyboard for the war I have been fiddling with for a few years.
How would the mages win the war?

Apparently Celene would have won considering the guard in her room pretty much says Celene was prepared for Gaspard's troops who infiltrated the castle. How would you have reacted if the war always ended with Celene winning?
Celene was prepared for Gaspard's troops, but that doesn't mean she would had won the war.

Celene was prepared for Gaspard's troops, but that doesn't mean she would had won the war.
She would be able to execute Gaspard for treason as a direct result.

that is still contingent on her plan succeeding, which its not guaranteed to do, Celene does not have a proud history of martial affairs going her way

True, but knowing the enemy troop movements thanks to a traitor general, including strength and numbers is a huge advantage.

Yes.
Okay short version then.
The battle of Andorals reach ends in a running skirmish across the frost backs after the Templars try to lay siege and the rebellion scattered.
Then the pc assuming you join the mage faction goes to sabotage advanced templar positions and kill in field officers.
This disorganizes the pursuing force and allows the rebellion to regroup near the western hills in Fereldan.
Then the campaign shifts to targeting templar power bases across Fereldan, prepare the field. Crippling their lyrium store houses, burning garrisons, and killing a Seeker commander leading a expeditionary force into the lowlands.
This draws Lambert himself from the Spire and he declares a march on Kinloch hold were the mages have assumed control of.
A force of nearly six thousand Templars and Seekers lay siege to the circle.
And well o.o the rest of the campaign depends on choices made during the battle.

True. Before Inquisition came out I was actually reasonably sure that Cole was possessing him.

Apparently starting a civil war against you doesn't count as treason. Orlesians ![]()

They had a truce before the ball, so she couldnt execute him, but if he did something against Celene, he would have broken the truce and Celene could execute him.
