From what I've seen of DA:I, it looks like Biovar shot their bolt with ME3. They'll never do anything as good again.
Y'know, there are still hundreds of BF3 servers running and BF4 has been out for a year and half. ME3 will be popular as long as the servers run.

Well if they have the stupid region lock thing in ME4MP I'll probably stick to ME3.

Some strange design decisions aside, the DA multiplayer is really hampered by the fact that the core combat really just isn't good (frankly in that series it never was).
ME3 combat on the other hand was fun and benefited from a coherent vision of what it should be (which Dragon Age lacks) which they will hopefully maintain for the next game. They have hired a top Gears of War guy from Epic so it seems they're committed to improving as a TPS.

Knowing EA, that'll be when ME4 is released.
I just hope enough people are playing to keep the game going.

I don't think it'll be worse. Bioware have a good foundation to begin implementing ME4 MP. I'm not sure what else they could do outside of some new missions and maybe adding some new creatures and maps. As long as they bring back my phoenix vanguard with a more updated and slick design, i'm good. As far as ME3MP goes, i think they will keep the servers rollin' until ME4 drops or if if there is a substantial drop in traffic.

Knowing EA, ME4 will come out as £50 alphaware followed by bite-sized instalments, each at £20 - each of those with zero-day DLC and patches.
Then it'll require a season pass to play online, for another £20+ a time, and micro-DLC you'll need to buy to have a chance at unlocking equipment and upgrades... but hey, it's OK you'll be able to buy upgrade packs with space bucks that will generate slowly from your mission-o-meter that sends out "allies" to perform tasks for you every few hours or pointless grind side-quests. Unless of course you want to buy space bucks with real money, which will obviously be an option.
Pay to play, pay to win; Mass Effect meets Candy Crush - it's the EA way.

Sorry to be the one to call you on this, but that is utter rot. You may dislike EA, for many good reasons, but try to not let it blind you to facts.
The fact is that EA has a long history of keeping servers running for a long time after the next game in the series is released. The Battlefield Bad Company 2 servers are still running, and BF1942 servers were only shut down last summer.

I think this is exactly right. For whatever reason the stars aligned for ME3MP and BioWare's track record on MP has sucked since: DAMP where they still can't get the basic netcode right and Shadow Realms--cancelled. I think the only way ME4MP is better is if they essentially reproduce ME3 in the new engine then using it as a base add maps and factions and make only minor changes to core mechanics. That's what I'm praying for anyway. If I hear they're doing something "new", and "creative", "from scratch" we're dead ducks.

My guess based on nothing by cynicism is that ME4 MP will suck as they try to 'innovate' and 'be creative', then if they survive that long they'll make ME5 MP and it will be just like ME3 MP but better.
A lot of games / movies / books go through that cycle: first one is an unexpected hit; they make a sequel and try to do everything new and different when what the fans really want is more of the same but the author / artist / whatever wanted to be new and creative; then in the 3rd one they give in to fan expectations and make it like the 1st one but with updated 'tech' or whatever.

... what the fans really want is more of the same ....
And if they give the fans more of the same, they get crap reviews from all the game sites for not making something new, so no one buys it anyway.

What are you talking about?
Madden, FIFA, COD... Assassin's Creed 2 / Brotherhood / Unity (4 was a departure)... I can't even count the number of games with yearly or regular iterations that are almost exactly the same just updated in some slight way.
Movies... books... TV shows... if you tell the same story over and over but tell it well, it's a license to print money.
Same with games.

Then someone comes along and makes Minecraft, retires to a mansion with a swimming pool filled with money followed by the identikit, half-arsed copies that come out and the cycle begins again.
That's one thing I like about PC gaming (especially Steam), and to a lesser extent things like the SEN (possibly XBL as well, I've never owned an XBox) - digital platforms cut the production and distribution costs making it more affordable for companies, especially smaller indies, to try something new, to take a risk and that's where interesting things happen.
